First of, Auckland and Sydney are incomparable. Sydney is like 4X the population and size. An aussie city like Brisbane or Adelaide because of their similar sizes and pop. etc. Overall I think Auckland is great :) and a much more liveable city than any other city in Australasia.

For it's size Aucklands crime, traffic and pollution are rally bad. Sydney's 4X bigger but doesn't have even 2X the crime. Melbourne has comparable crime and is almost as big as Sydney.
