I was at the fair and they had Komatsu Backhoe, front loader, Skid steer, and tons of other stuff i sat in them to. I really want one lol. I rode a bobcat once, that was fun.

The second bigest brother of them all is a great Mass Excavator. PC 5500 is the best excavator i have operated above the 500t class. A ton of tear and break out for a big machine.

Komatsu has really built a quality machine. Especially their excavators. The cycle times and power are a good balance and they sip fuel. I do like the old Kobelcos for demolition because they have awesome power but are slow. The ole Cat 235 was a real good machine if you choked up on the sticks. But the PC400 is the best excavator on earth. And I've run all the dashes right up to the dash 400 dash 7. Good balance, good power, and all around all-star machine.

PC 400 is def. a great overall machine strong when needed can move a lot of material quick and can be precise for digging around utilities. However I still have 2 take a new CAT 345!! More Money but alot stronger!!

Kobelco suck hugs balls, Cat are nice, Komatsu are cool too. I have a 460LX Link Belt that I'll tell ya, is one of the nicest pieces of heavy equipment I've run. Really respondsive huge amount of breakout force and super comfy.

A machine is only as good as the person operating it. A good operator will run any make of machine and get the best out of it. There's not that much difference between any machines, it just comes down to personal preferences at the end of the day. I run a Daewoo now because that's what i've been given, they're a cheaper brand of machine but i operate it and get the job done just fine, just like i would if i had a Cat, a Komatsu, Hitachi, JCB or any other make!!

Cat = 24hr guarantee on all parts and service. On but dozers, Cat = lower $/hr maintenance over the life of the machine. Komatsu = 30% lower up front perches price. Komatsu = 36% shorter life span of equipment. Komatsu dozers are an exception, they have a much lower $/hr operating cost to the cat equivalent, though there hydraulics get sloppy much faster. As an operator I would prefer to run an Cat D6N, as an owner I would rather my operator used a Komatsu D61PX
