If we can step off the destructive path that we are on now, the constant struggle to keep up with the economic treadmill that enslaves us, maybe there is hope for all humanity and the world in which we live. This music gives me hope that deep down inside us all is the recognition that we are creatures who always find real freedom.
I find this music slightly sinister. As soon as I hear it I picture people Isolated in space searching for something. To far away from home to contact anyone their only hope is that they find 'something' out there in front of them in space.
It's not the city that is the problem, it is us (humanity). We just have to learn to create cities that are more in touch with nature and spirituality. Then we can truely live in beautiful cities where overpopulation, crime, hate and deciet are a thing of past.
I agree! But then we wouldn't call them cities anymore, at least not in the usual sense of the word. And even if better cities are created, they will never be a substitute for nature uncreated and unaltered by humanity. What I meant in my old post is that humanity needs to re-learn how to be a part of the non-human natural world...
@changtuber Hahaha My friend you are only stuck in the city if you believe you are stuck in the city... Likewise, if you believe and know in your heart that innately you are as free as the wind that blows through your hair then that will become reality.
I am free from what some would call an unnatural prison, the superficial walls and doors around me... I am free from my body for my soul is beyond matter... I am free from my mind for my heart knows all.
@jw22345 YES :) On a certain level we must all learn to be free of the mind's fences and constraints. But that doesn't mean that you still don't yearn for the beauty of the natural world, the one that birthed and nurtured our human race and all the countless lifeforms, who are our companions in this world. Of course we are as free as the wind, and we are also free to leave this destructive path that humanity has embarked on... Namaste to you :)
I have once seen a video that shows pictures from arctic, tibet, desert, and some pictures by Salvador Dali. Does anyone know the name of this artwork? (And where can I get one?)
Oh yeah, and the soundtrack is by Steve Roach. That is how I get to learn his works. I have jot down his name but failed to find this DVD on the Internet.
I agree. And I feel fortunate in a way that I was able to hear Roach's music. Not many people understand the kind of bliss it brings. Thank you, Steve Roach.
This is a really syrupy thing to say, but Steve's music takes me to my real self, and has helped me have faith in God, even while struggling with His infinity and holiness.
Ethereal.

I wish everyone could see these photographs and hear the music. Maybe then we would be more inclined to be better stewards of our planet.

This type of music needs to be played out of speakers positioned around cities. Not loudly but so that it can be gently heared in the background.
It would chill alot of people out, calm them down etc.

Neat idea... I'd love to skate to this music during winters at our City Hall skating rink, for example.

So true. What the fuck are we doing?
Modern cities seem to disconnect us from the natural state of this world.
