these mc chante comparisons need to stop. i have all of the albums from both of these talented ladies, and thier musical/vocal stylings are completely different. Marians music is modern, while chante sticks to a more classic sound. What they do have is common is 5 octave ranges (chantes 20th century masters album notes clearly states this) and a true mastery of whistle register, not using a typical head voice to hit those notes, like erna sack and mado robin use, which they utilized quite well.
