  • At this point, the human and the parrot are still on the same level of intelligence!

You can clearly see it, the way they react on eachother.

  • @Shadowblood66 yes macaws are around 3-4 years i think

  • All I mean to say is that people might not want to try this at home without knowing their animals well.

  • I dunno about this. That bird could take off a finger. I trust that you know your pet well enough to judge, but I also see cats with rabbits, and my cat has eaten a few.

  • This is a trippy video!!

  • man that is awsome macaws have a hardy type nature this one is dociel love the vid

  • This is really cute, and they are treating each other with great care and affection, which is nice to see, but (no offence intended), do they both look stoned to anyone else?

  • @izools I think you might be a little stoned (if thats what you see) LOL B)

  • 1:40 is a sighn of randy sydrome.. my bird has it.. his is very cute:)

  • @PetsandBeauty Love how they call it a "syndrome." In the wild, birds mate, rubbing their organs together of course. They feed each other as a sign of affection and to raise their young. Even the chicks will do this. Your bird is taken out of its natural habitat and has only you as its 'mate' and *you* replace any bird mate it would have had. Suddenly, natural behavior is now a 'syndrome' and the bird needs hormone therapy. Nuts! Ever had a dog hump your leg? THERE'S a syndrome!

  • @PetsandBeauty As a follow-up. I've had my macaw for 22 years. He exhibits the feeding behavior but not the mating act. Mating (sexual) behavior can be changed. So consider...a rhesus monkey will stick its penis in your ear. "oh that's just a monkey, they can do that." A dog humps your leg and we laugh and put the video on YouTube. Trainers even teach it to dogs for a TV laugh. A parrot does it and they name it, call it a syndrome and suggest hormones. yeah, seems reasonable to me.

  • @kev692 normally i would agree with you, as people do seem to overreact with pet parrots--yet still don't provide flock friends. but in this case, i think petsandbeauty was being facetious/funny. in the queen's english, being 'randy' means horny. so, i think petsandbeauty was just saying what we were witnessing was the 'horny syndrome' -- aka 'a sign of being horny' -- given those who don't know birds wouldn't have known that.

btw--where did you see that someone suggested hormones?

  • @flychomperfly Haha. I did not know being 'randy' was slang for horny to my cousins across the way. Thanks for cluing me in. :-)

I'd never heard of it before so I Googled it before I originally responded. Many are associated with a Dr. Ross Perry, but I see others as well. This one suggests a common-sense approach:

    currumbinvetservices (dot) com (dot) au/sex_and_pet_bird.htm

It mentions being the 'Parent' in the relationship, rather than the mate, and nothing about artificial hormones.

  • The head bobbing looks like the parental instinct to feed a baby, which is adorable! Watching them interact with each other they are both so gentle! Very cute! Anyone that says this is bad either doesn't have birds or doesn't know their bird's personality very well!

  • Playing techno with your kids makes them like metallica when they grow up :) Just a warning :)

  • Its cool how its pretending to eat just to be social with him. :)

  • my freind has 1 she paid 10000$ 4 him and he is so jealous of my freinds other half

  • thats so cute..the bird can snap a grown ma's finger in 1/2 but that bird like gets hand fed by your little boy, that's amazing. I like parrots but i like macaws the best cuz of their color...how much are they? i've seen range from like $200-5000 or so...

  • This is what makes the world worthwhile :) x

  • Macaw: make up your mind, do you want me on your arm or not?!

  • The parrot is bigger than the kid :)

  • amazing, a friendship for a lifetime- I'm a long time bird owner and I am almost jealous of this little boy- what a relationship these two will have!

  • Adorable!

  • its scary that the macaw is almost the same size as the baby....very cute and gentle though

  • This video is so sweet, i love how loving your bird is with your child!

    Amazing.

  • cat+baby+parrot= epic wtf .__o

  • Your son and your bird are beautiful. We also have a greenwing and he plays with all my kids, including my youngest (3). I have several parrots and his stable personality is the best with kids.

  • i wouldnt do that.

  • 2:26 - 2:30 aww their holding hands :)

  • Gorgeous video, quality love there.

  • 5People hates life

  • shit the birds almost as big as the baby haha gotta love macaws

  • bird is bigger than the baby lol

  • @jester4115 lol

  • What a great bond to watch! Too bad about the craptastic music and filthy yard. But the bird and kid are great, they can't help it the parents are slobs.

  • awww the parrot was regurgitating for the baby, what a nice yet somewhat unsettling gesture

  • aww

  • lol did the kid try to feed the bird some dirt?

  • @lalathethird333 would not matter if the macaw ate dirt or not. in the wild, macaws such as these feed on clay from cliff faces to help aid in digestion.

  • this is great. my blue and gold loved my babies...and would sit with them like this for hours. there was never a dull moment and the parrot protected the kids...!

  • I guess in ISrael its ok but in USA to have your bird outside would tempt other wild birds to swoop down and carry it away and eat it.

  • Bird wants to climb on the kid but kid says no.

  • Thats very dangerous for the little kid

  • this green win gmut be a male? I see he wants to feed the baby instead!

  • DISCO DISCO GOOD GOOD

  • @Mofoe2001 Hahah de ZOHAN!

  • What a nice parrot you got. very beautiful collors and it's comming along very well with the baby. That's good indeed. :)

  • Your green wing is absolutely gorgeous! I love how he/she is so sweet and loving toward your baby.

  • Such a magnificent and smart bird.

  • Now that's awesome. The Macaw is trying to feed the little boy (all the head thrusting) which is how parrots show affection.

  • @kev692 is that really how they show affection? all birds anyway?

  • @Tyuo2010 Not all birds. It's especially.seen in larger parrots. It's a social behavior birds do in the wild and as a sign of affection and acceptance as well as a purely functional role of raising young. I've had my Macaw for 22 years and he still does it after he eats. He used to actually regurgitate on you when he was a baby (ewww) but he just goes through the motions now. Don't misunderstand...food still comes up, he just doesn't give it to you. :-)

  • A sweet bird like that shows how caring and loving your family is. A bird takes on its familys character. If one person is abusive, that bird will show it. All I see is love. Good job!

  • That bird is so gentle with your little boy! You can tell that they are both very much loved. :)

  • That bird is so gentle with your little boy! You can tell that they are both very much loved. :)

  • hey I see a cat in the background. is it just a random cat or is he yours? wondering if it's possible to have both a cat and a macaw ^_^

  • @creepygirl94 I have a Dog, aGreened Wing and a Black Cat and My cat just loves on my greened wing

  • so adorable!

  • wow that's cool how you can just chill outside with your bird. I wouldn't dare let my bird go outside, it would fly away lol.

no offence, but this does kinda look like mexico :)

    mexico is awesome though

  • @SyndicalistTimes How can this "look like Mexico" hun? All you can see is dirt and a chair. This could be in the US for all you know. Ignorance is bliss.

  • @cmiranda1218

"All you can see is dirt and a chair."

    I rest my case.

  • @SyndicalistTimes Ignorance is bliss. I rest my case.

  • @cmiranda1218

    Ignorance of what?

You can't even tell I'm joking.

  • grose mexicans

  • @Sigiswald68 THEY ARE NOT MEXICANS

  • eew what a disgusting backyard... filthy Mexican bastards

  • @Sigiswald68 they are not mexicans idiot

  • Wow, that baby pulls the birds tall hard enough and its all over. I have one myself. Very trusting, but they can nap under the pain like any other animal.

  • Make a sequel but more bird less baby no offense there both beutiful but it's called macaw and baby

  • thank you for sharing...what a beautiful thing...he loves your baby a lot! I have a greenwing and they are amazing!

  • WHAT KIND OF PARROT IS IT?! I LUUUUV ITTTTTTTTTT

  • WOW!!!! I am VERY impressed 1: the way your son is so gentle and respects this bird, that is a rare thing! I always see kids that are WAY to rough with pets whether it is cats/dogs or birds the abuse that they endure because the parents do not teach them how to act around pets. Your son is amazing with him wish other parents would take a lesson from this. And 2: GREAT MACAW!!!!!!! seriously again great job brining up one well adjusted Greenwing, he looks fantastic with a personality to match!

  • dude... I didn't know the birds got that huge I mean damn it could eat that baby!

  • Very sweet and gentle giant, you're fortunate to have such a well tempered parrot :)

The child is adorable as well.

  • it is a beautiful bird.....where is it from?

  • awww cute

  • too cute!

  • you should be more careful with macaw, because he's able to bite child with it powerful beak

  • How sweet! I've never seen a macaw interact with such a young child. You can tell this bird loves the little boy. Every time he put his arm down birdie tried to climb on, when the boy accidentally grabbed birdie's tail s/he didn't scream or get offensive. You must have had this a long time, possibly much longer than the child. Seems like birdie thinks this little boy is his/her chick! Thanks for sharing!

  • i love the colors of that bird

  • awww the birdy loves him, even if the kid is trying to feed him rocks.

  • I enjoyed watching the Interaction of your bird with your son. Thank you for sharing.

  • How cute... my Quaker Parrot loves kids :)

  • Cute. Won't the macaw fly away? Did you clip the wings?

  • This place looks like a paradise. Beautiful relationship between the two. Great video.

  • I would be scared of leaving kid near to such a big bird...It seems to be friendly, but you know...horses seem to be friendly too...

  • what terrible things to say!! who cares where this uploader lives.. look how healthy her adorable son looks and how gentle they are together.. well done eellii, you are a wonderful parent!

  • @brookenroses Because nobody wants to see dirty foreigners!

Hey cute bird, but that is one ugly fucking baby!

  • @usig00 yes yes i see your point - you ignorant douche!!!

  • @usig00 fuckin asshole... ur probably one of them racist pigs out there

  • @pr1nce786 Whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down nigger. No need to act like that.

  • @usig00 hahah i wish you would have the balls to say that to my face hommie... id show you whats up

  • Nice bird big one too almost as big as the kid lol

  • aww he luvs ur baby x3

  • LOVELY video! Question: What does the 'head bobbing' mean?

  • @Fishlova82 The bird is trying to bring food up from it's stomach to feed the kid, it's a sign the bird loves the kid, my macaw would do the same thing and I would have to put a brake on it cause if i didn't he would be shaking his head slinging puke around.

  • nice bird...congradulations. I guess were a dirty family too....cause we live in mexico. Birds here are very cheap. I own a parrot but were are looking for a macaw

  • Your bird is so well-behaved and good with your child.

  • oh thats not very smart of you to let your parrrot play with your little kid just saying!

he easely bite of a finger or he can bite in your little one eyes!

or you kid can hurt the parrot.

  • why doesn't the bird fly away?

  • What a gorgeous bird! So placid, I wish I could afford a Green Wing Macaw :S

  • Aaah is burping up food to feed the child, thats cute, he really wants to care for him

  • wooohoo israel

  • Haha Macaw seems to wanna get on the babys arm and baby just keeps pulling arm away :)

Lovely bird and lovely kid :) Congratulations on both :)

  • That's amazing. Most birds do not like small children.

  • Congrats!!! Lovely!!! Ilana

  • That is a really calm macaw. I hope my new baby Blue and Gold ends up like that!

  • @AFchicaLoca WTF you mean "I HOPE"? How about not being lazy and retarded and WORK WITH THE BIRD so he turns out that way? WTF man?

How do people like you make it past 10 yrs of age?

  • that is cute

  • hmm, don't take this negative, but, isn't it a bit dangerous, cuz they have a lot of power in their jaws :s

could hurt your kid very bad

doesn't change the fact that they are both beautiful together

  • This is a BEAUTIFUL baby, a gorgeous macaw and it shows kindness, love and heart. Thank you so much for sharing this part of your life

  • no we live in israel and yes we are a dirty famely

  • Aahh, don't listen to idiots like that. Just because you live in a sertain part of the world doesn't mean you are dirty. People like him are just ignorant! You have a beautiful bird! Seems to really get along with your baby! I've been wanting a Macaw myself. I've had other parrots in the past, but now I want a Macaw LOL.

  • how can u afford this bird

  • i rent the place and we build our home in this village a beautiful place ...

  • @eellii26 What does it matter where they're from? It's still a cute video.

  • these comments disgust me. no one puts into consideration that maybe they bought a low dense home to afford more valuable things? if you spend all your money trying to buy a fancy house you won't have any money left to enjoy. their house might not be your "dream home" but if they can upload this video, that shows they have internet, if they can record, it shows they have a camera.

  • @eellii26 LMFAO! Greenwings are the best!

  • @eellii26 oh my god! what type of parrot is it? I <3 it!

  • @punkyprincessful he is a Greenwing Macaw

  • You are such a dick. Let them enjoy their bird and their baby and the fact that everyone looks healthy and gets along. That bird and that boy are gonna be best friends for life look how protective he is of the little one, and how gentle. My birds are smaller than that and I can't say I'd trust my birds with my kids when I have em someday.

  • @TheGreenCheekConure that little boy looks like a native from new mexico or arizona or any of the mid west states in our beautiful country....why doest it have to be from mexico? there is yards in our beautiful country just like the one in this video just go outside of the big cities in california and you should be able to find backyards like this one...go to the "indian" reservations and you'll find plenty of backyards like this one...

  • he is so cute

    thanks
