thanx man. i usually play it in open E but thought i would play it in standard tuning C so that its more original and different than all the other covers of this song. i do agree that the open tuning does create a mood in this song which can't be captured in standard tuning.

hi man, think it would be more disrespectful to be a copycat and play it exactly how dylan himself plays it and sings it. I choose not to simply copy the song for there would be no point. it takes more skill to create a new progression than go on a tab site and copy how dylan plays it.

I suppose Dylan was renound for his dogmatic adherence to conventional arrangements of traditonal folk songs and his own compositions, was'nt he. The very nature of music is in paraphrasing not verbatim quotation, for want of a better expression. That's the point of a COVER.
