  • Why was all the fake blood in the 70s some shade of orange?

  • Just as "J" is walking away, I reckon you can just make out the smoke bloom from the chimney at the magnesium works on the Hartlepool headland.

  • The soundtrack of this film is just plain awesome.

  • this is the real gritty ending to an awesome british movie not the BS Stallone remake where he gets away Hollywood style. In the end this is how your wicked life will end if you walk down the crime path, very good movie and awesome ending.

  • I always wanted to know, that snipper at the end is that the same guy who was on the train opposite carter at the beginning? just noticing the ring.

  • Super

  • What was with all the revenge movies in the 70's wanting to kill off the main character in the end?

  • @BBoy2020 i don't think its anything to do with the time of the movie. Its probably more to do with the fact that there's no way Carter could kill that many people and get complete revenge without dieing himself

  • Daniel the Walrus - It were a bloody good shot though, right between the eyes from hundreds of yards away.

  • The Stallone remake, with Mickey Rourke, was far superior. But that's progress I guess.

  • @acnemanprice fuck you

  • @acnemanprice LOL

  • Fucking coward sniper!

  • I didnt like this ending. I liked the film but felt the ending was a bit of a let down, I was expecting him to have a shootout with the hitman or go back to London and take care of his bosses or something like that.

  • I'm not a great Michael Caine fan, but that was good.

  • This film turns 40 this year! :) A classic.

  • When was the ariel flight last used and dismantled at Blackhall Rocks?

  • Amazing movie!

  • @RichardElden Hmmm

  • The question is how did he get shot right in the centre of the forehead from behind?

  • @CompactJam The bullet entered the back of his head and lodged at the front of his skull, creating the small frontal wound....probably.

  • @LerafoLuap Many years ago I was actually a sniper. The type of round used at that range of a few hundred metres would have splattered his head and only left about a quarter of it on his neck. Especially it if was water filled or mercury filled. But I guess no one wants to see Michael Caine like that. Whatever the science it's a fantastic film and remains a classic - if you search my channel I made a tribute video to it

  • @snortbrick Funny you should say that - the novel which inspired this film (called "Jack's Return Home") actually has Carter surviving, living to fight another day.

  • Love this sequence - It's so dark!
