This GREAT LADY was a true AMERICAN who cared for this Country deeply. She left the State of Texas in much greater shape after her governorship. I just wish she would of won that November of 1994. I was truly saddened and somewhat depressed when I learned she had lost. Governor Richards was a TRULY BRIGHT STAR.
Okay, anyone who is presumptious and stupid enough to assume that Ann Richards would automatically be for Hillary Clinton obviously doesn't know anything about Ann.
What kind of Texas woman wouldn't already know about this amazing goddess? What is wrong with you people!
Oh, and Ann would NOT have endorsed Hillary...Ann was a no-bullshit taking, staunch progressive and even endorsed Howard "Screaming" Dean in 2003. So I guess you can maybe figure out who she would have gone with.....
Ann Richards is a woman I knew very little about UNTIL Hillary's campaign showed me what she was like. Ann was outstanding...what an awesome woman! I really admire her. I hope Texas women come together and they show their support for Hillary at the polls and caucus sites. Ann's daughter said that Ann would support Hillary with a passion. Hillary and Bill loved Ann and they were friends for over 30 years.
Ann Richards set the standard for what all of us Democrat women should be ... strong, independent and outspoken. VOTE FOR HILLARY in the memory of Ann Richards who I know would be her strongest... and loudest... voice! Gov Richards was my hero. I miss her. Let's put our first woman in the White House and since it can't be our Ann, Vote for the next best thing... Hillary Clinton!
LOVED Ann Richards. I remember hearing about her death. This video makes me sad. I always felt she was an awesome lady, with true tough-ass class. She was a true inspiration, not afraid to be who she was, and not afraid to speak her mind. Ann, many of us still love and miss you.
It's "Northeast Texas Women" by Willis Alan Ramsey, recorded on the album, "Willis Alan Ramsey" back in the early 70's. I've not heard anything from Ramsey since then, but his debut/only album is a gem of original songwriting. He is something of a mystery in Texas music. The original vinyl is a valuable collector's item. I hope he doesn't mind my using this great song for this humble tribute to Ann.
Rock on Anne! Miss you

This displaced Texan had to shed a few tears viewing this video and hearing "Northeast Texas Women" sung for the first time in years and years.
A fitting tribute to a great lady.
