Hi Brick… I just purchased a used JVC GZ MG330 HD camcorder off of eBay and it doesn’t have the software that normally comes with it. Where can I download the correct software to be able to upload the video from the cam to my PC? I can plug in the USB and play the video on my PC, but can’t upload it and save it in as a file.

i guess, this camera is so difficult. after realizing how hard it is to do anything with it on the computer, i began to ask myself if it was even worth getting. the quality and the HD is the main reason i got it. but i can't do anything with the videos. can't edit them or upload them onto you tube, out them on a dvd, nothing. i can only play them on my television straight from the camcorder. hope what you are showing us helps. other wise i have no use for this camera.

Powercinema apparently didnt get downloaded onto my PC with the software. I went to their site to download it but there's nothing in the camera instruction manual for an activation key and I only have a 30 day trial. Am I missing something? Dont know whats wrong but if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

For now I'll have to continue using 4:3 and manually rename them to .mpg just so I can edit them and upload.

hey, i have a JVC everio and am kinda confused with it (im not sure if its the same one you have.. it has a memory card that i use to upload straight to my laptop and has a youtube sticker on the side.. hopefully you'll know which one it is) but anyway, when i upload the files onto my computer it comes in MOD and then the files directly after it is MOI. so everyother clip i take doesnt work to my computer. how do i change it so that ALL my files are MOD?? i need DESPERATE help!!

You have to have that software installed. If it is installed and not automatically popping up go and find it in your programs. Once in there it should recognize your camera. Also, make sure to select playback on PC on the camcorder otherwise it won't do anything.

You don't have to download the disc. When I hook the usb cable to the computer and laptop, the thing pops up on camcorder, and i put export to library, then a thing pops up just like it does with flashdrives or anything, that you plug up appears. I click import pictures, and it imports all of my videos and pictures into a folder in my pictures file.

wow all you have to do is right click the clip delete mod from the end and add avi and it somehow changes it too were you can import to editing softwares way easyer than doing this

That only works if you record in 4:3 and I agree it is waaaaayyyyyy easier. But if you are like me and record in 16:0 then you have to use the converter because the widescreen information is lost otherwise.

I'm old guy (senior citizen type) that just bought the same camera for a upcoming trip and while trying to learn to use it, it has been kicking my butt trying to download film and make DVD's from my pictures. When picking the output settings is it at all possible to go more in depth with, say, the final output video size? It's all fine picking WMV HD Standard, but a lot of times the final size is more than 100 MB (the limit for YouTube)

JerryJoe88, if you're still wondering, from the project screen go to Edit>aspect ratio and change it to 16x9.

I have the same problem as jerrymoe88...all my videos were shot in 16x9 but when I load them onto my computer they are in full screen. When producing the videos in the software I choose the WMV HD Standard or HQ options and then when I get to the next screen the aspect ratio states 4:3.

The problem I can't figure out is...I shoot in 16x9, but when I get to the part in your vid that you choose WMV 9 HD standard quality 1280x720...I click the green arrow to the next page, & It always says 4:3 aspect ratio. On your vid, I can see that yours says 16x9. What am I doing wrong?

I bought the JVC Everio GZ-MS120B and mine has the one touch youtube function.. I just hit the button and it automaticly uploads to youtube. Only bad thing about mine is that it only works with sd cards, no hdd. They didn't even include one with it. For the $279 I paid I would have thought they would have atleast included a 1gig card just to get me started. I have to wait a week till I can get a new sd card just to use my video camera.

All I can say is make sure that you are selecting the NTSC widescreen format with a resolution of 720x480 or 1280x720.

if you drag and drop files from the jvc everio to your computer using windows explorer,your footage will have the .MOD extension-change the .MOD to .MPG and it will play in windows media player but the file will have lost the widesceen flag.

i import the footage using the pixela image mixer 3 for sd.the files have now got the .MPG extension and also the widescreen flag embedded.

you can now edit this in software of your own choice exporting it with display 16x9 aspect ratio checked.

What do you know about the Canon Vixia HF100?? It costs nearly twice as much, but it records in mpeg4/AVCHD format and it seems that the resulting vids will be sharper. It uses flash memory.

Hey Jeff, I first watched this video and it really helped me to figure out the software and get it onto youtube. But I'm really beginning to have second thoughts about this camera. It's the first camcorder I've ever bought, but in my opinion the video quality is terrible, even in florescent lighting my vids look bad. And the .mod thing is such a pain. There's alot I like about it, but too much that I don't like. I might take it back. What higher end cam would you recommend?
