Wings haven't really had a hard set of games yet. Or really beat any elite teams. Blue Jackets (Hate to call them elite, but they are looking good so far this year) have really been their first test, but it will be nice to see how they do with the harder months ahead.

They are all getting there. As far as the hawks, they have one of the best Cores in the game right now and youth. They will build around that be a great team for years. Maybe over time they will rebuild again, but prepare for their talent to drop, Hawks and blues however have already started rebuilding and the hawks expecially are off to an amazing start with a cup in hand.

Even though the blues arn't doing good now, I want you to go back and look at them before they got hit up with injuries, they looked to be one of the hottest teams in the league. If I remember correctly I believe the blues are the 2nd or 3rd youngest team right now and are fine with the cap, that tells me they have time to build on an already good team. That is why I see them as a great team. But for some reason Wing fans either can't or don't want to look into the future.

I just do not see the logic in this. The Wings have been to the playoffs every year since 1990, yet he thinks we should be worried about the near future. A team that makes the playoffs 20 straight seasons obviously knows how to build for the future. It's not like all of our key players are on the brink of retirement either. Players that are still in their early 30's could still play for at least another 7 or 8 years. Wings fans are not worried.

11-12 We loose Holmstrom, Bertuzzi, Rafalski. Thats 9.7 million with three players at 3 million were still in the clear for another cup run. We didnt pay over 2 million for five of those 7 players. You talk about how old we are but after that our oldest player is Datsyuk (32 now) who trust me...we have had time to think about him leaving... Lidstrom, Draper, and Holmstrom too.

Wings haven't really had a hard set of games yet. Or really beat any elite teams. Blue Jackets (Hate to call them elite, but they are looking good so far this year) have really been their first test, but it will be nice to see how they do with the harder months ahead.

See, detroits era is ending whether you like it or not, and I'd be suprised if they win another cup down the stretch. They haven't proven to the NHL they are the great team this year, yet anyway. We will see in the next couple months. But the hawks and blues look to be the teams that will start controling the division. And yes the hawks are trailing the Wings with less games, but the wings still have to win those 5 games, so that means nothing at this time.

Yes last year they got a 5 seed and barly made it out of the first round and never came close in the 2nd to the team that got swept. They had their worst year in 15 years because of the age factor in their players, they are losing that high skill level they were once known for, The hawks have one of the youngest and most skilled in many's eyes, core in the game, you can build and ride something like that for years. Your 2nd problem develops around the Cap space, Lets say many of the older talent lasts even 5 years. Then you have to raise the pay on the players you just mentioned, well for sure 2 of the 3. Then what, you have to dump someone. Maybe over time they will rebuild again, but prepare for their talent to drop, Hawks and blues however have already started rebuilding and the hawks expecially are off to an amazing start with a cup in hand.

Even though the blues arn't doing good now, I want you to go back and look at them before they got hit up with injuries, they looked to be one of the hottest teams in the league. If I remember correctly I believe the blues are the 2nd or 3rd youngest team right now and are fine with the cap, that tells me they have time to build on an already good team. You blamed the Blues struggles this season on injuries, yet 6 of their top 7 leaders in points have missed little time this season. The Wings had 34. They haven't led at any point since. Yeah, the Blues looked real good when they gave up 5 goals to my "old" Wings the other day.
