Im doing this scene for a performance in my theatre class, except I changed it to a male role. Instead of rose, it's Charlie Ritz and I was wondering if you could give me some tips.
@killer429 WOW! What a great concept. Logistically, there are some things you may need to change. Personally, I am a single mom... and I had to pull from the funny, sad and frustrating parts of my own life. This monologue is all about pacing and knowing where to emphasize or take a beat. Feel free to ask questions, I'm really interested in how yours turns out! :)
@stephaniedfw Well, I did change things, but I was wondering how I should play the character. I'm thinking about either doing a very shy guy, or maybe a bipolar needs-pills type of guy, What do you think?
@fiyero24601 I agree! The first night I heard people laugh, I wasn't sure what to think at first... but then, everyone who talked to me about the show, mentioned this scene. It's very funny, but very truthful and heart-wrenching... I, too, am a single-mom.
Where are the lyrics or words to this monologue?
