  • @boldger13 It's a bird.

  • i wonder which wood he is using

  • how awsome..!!!

  • this just goes to show how important sharp tools are

before you learn to carve...learn to sharpen your tools as there doin the work....

you just point them in the right direction

  • @bratstarr ironically it also reduces the chance of you cutting yourself, dull blades tend to catch and jump more, making them harder to controll

  • o-o ....df is it..?

  • That's the most beautiful feather-stick I've ever seen :P

  • @WildyJohn hahhahahahha :)

  • Don't show it too much! Koreans & Chinese, Taiwanese talk shit but then steal the techniques !! LMAO!

  • Dang, Its obvious that is pretty soft wood, but you could hear how sharp that knife was! No its not a cleaver, its a special, multi-edge knife and silly sharp. It leaves a mark and a numb spot where ya cut yourself like any dang sharp knife, EEEUUUWWW. THX for post!

  • okay now this is making me nervous

  • that was perfect BUT wath kind of wood is that ?

  • That is one scary knife technique !!

  • odd method

  • Well, he's got all his fingers, that's got to be the most amazing thing about this.

  • Any minute that thing is going through his knee. What a stupidly designed tool, and what a stupid way of using it.

  • @donepearce Well, the guy makes it through the whole video without injury, and cranks out a spiffy little carved bird in just a few minutes. Looks like stupid equals effective in this case.

  • its unbelievable... that he still got all his fingers!..

  • i have one of these saws, they are the best!

  • This was very impressive but can someone please tell me what he just made?

  • @slye1991 Is it dildo???????????????????????

  • @slye1991 Looks like a bird

  • ahhh, im scared just watching it. I keep think "OMG dont cut your thumb!!" xD Good thing he's an expert.

  • japanese are the best crafstmen in the world. no matter what they immitate , they end up making it better .

this culture is by far the most refined on the planet. and what is best is that unlike the french and the brits they remain modest

  • @lukkha1 very well put! couldn't have said it better with such few words!

  • @lukkha1 I agree for the most part, but the tentacle pr0n still scare the hell out of me :)

  • @gayouj it freaks me out too. but i live in japan and have visited one of these craftsmen and these guys are just out of this world this is just a simple carving. i have seen phoenix made from a solid 20 cm large pillar using even bigger knives and when they do that in front of you you have cold sweat. one of the guys lost 3 toes he told me. i cant even picture how

  • @lukkha1 I have to imagine he dropped a knife on his foot. Even so, I'm with you. Lots of cool stuff coming out of that part of the world for thousands of years now.

  • 2:42 Fart!

  • why are the japanese so talented at everything!!

  • @MrOzzybrent Because this is what they do every day of their lives

  • @MrOzzybrent becuz they dont use technology like the west.

  • And that knife appears to be scary sharp !!!

  • At first I was like "Why is he making a penis with wings?" then I was like "Ohhhhhh it's a biiiiiiird, that makes more sense."

  • That is a knife for wood working found it in my art catologue just like that !!!

  • i always thought the japanese could do everything!!!

  • DAMNNNNN.........ASIANSSSSS!!!!

  • How does this guy still have all of his fingers?

  • @medhub the sharp tool is the safe tool

  • Press 5

  • i thought its eel

  • @102takaful no I think its a dildo

  • That tool is great . . .I have Got to make me one of those!!!

  • for a second i thought he was making a moose! but how beautiful.

  • anyone know what wood is that?

  • @unaltrostupidonome i would guess at dogwood but im not sure:)

  • have to love how sharp that knife is!!! Japanese know how to do it better than anyone else!

  • very Nice work!

  • I cringed every time I saw him pushing that huge knife towards himself.

  • lool i only knew what it was at 4:30 haha so awesome

  • Carving is AWESOME!!!

  • Sasano-Bori requires special chisels called Sarukiri and Chijire.

The craftsman uses the axe-like Sarukiri as a knife and makes very detailed carvings on a single piece of wood!

  • I am amazed that most japanese traditional art is done sitting cross legged

  • What is it supposed to be

  • @hamstergirl10001 It´s a bird

  • Marvelous. That person have great mastery of wood.

    Nice bird. I was amazed.

  • the knife design is really intelligent

  • That that woman still has fingers boggles my mind. She is quite talented.

  • @uzurimiradi its a dude yo

  • THAT IS ONE PRO!

  • you dont want to cut yourself with that!!

  • ok but what is it?

  • @systema6 bird

  • it's a quality woodworking tool. You can't just buy these at your local hardware store. I am a wooden boatbuilder in North Washington. Look up lie nielsen tools and japan woodworker. These carving knives cost about 200 dollars for the cheap ones. My lie nielsen plane cost me 350. when you make woodworking a living the right tools really help

  • If there is ever a war, I want that knife. :L

Don't even need a gun when you've got a knife like that.

  • The knide is sharp but he is using lots of force too

  • dang is that wood thin or something?

or is that just a beastly knife

  • He makes it look SOOO easy.........

  • Terrific!

  • as you see here this is a japanese man with no left foot

  • Dildo?

  • @DonBugatti yes if he stope making it at 2:15 lol

  • @chardnj then it actually looks like he's holding his own penis! XD

  • I wanna be able to do that! and get knives that sharp too :)

  • What was that cleaver type knife ?

  • and i can hardly peel bark off a stick o_o

  • its obviously a bird

  • A bat ??

  • Oh, surprise! A beautiful little bird! Amazing technique, d'accord ... and a cool tool - I'm a tool fetichist :o)

  • Fantastic...!! Just love it...

  • What did he carve? A fish? Dragon?

  • @POLLOKITO It'sd a bird.

  • @POLLOKITO How about a bird..?

  • What kind of wood is that?

  • i keep thinking he is gonna remove a finger

  • Absolutely incredible! I have a very similar blade but with rounded edges rather than square(for cutting and shaping rubber seals), but can see a whole new use for it now. Though I'll probably lose a finger or two before I get the knack! Hehe!

  • Amazing! I knew after he made the head that it was going to be a bird! He must be really strong...

  • The entire time I watched this, I was thinking "OW, MY HAND!"

  • thats one sharp knife!

  • soft wood?? are you guys kidding me?....

maybe you mean, a weak wood.... -_-' (english...oy)

wait...wait....is...is he making a spear?? *raises one eyebrow*

wow!!! it was straight a while ago....AND NOW IT'S A BIRD!!!

  • @xiaoli26 ......there are "soft" woods. a weak wood when cut would just fall apart.

  • @wackedout991 oh ... sorry sorry~ lol xD

I don't rly know much about woods ... tnx for the info anyways :D

  • that wood he uses must be really soft, he cuts that stuff like its nothing.

  • @IamSunnyD either the wood is really soft or the blades are REALLY sharp

  • thts fuckin amazin

  • cool carving of a pee pee with wings.

  • @assytoob LOL ROFLMAO i felll of MY CHAIR LAUGHING XD

  • bravo

  • Thats not a carving knife....ITS A MEAT CLEVER!

  • Fancy knife at 0:56 - 3:23 :) nice

  • nice blade...

  • That tool looked really scary :o I wonder how many times he accidently cut himself before getting this craft down! Amazing!

  • @enfulninja IF YOU LIKED THAT YOU SHOULD SEE HIM MAKE BALLOON ANIMALS LOL!!!

  • I would cut the shit out of myself if I tried to do that.

  • ITS AN ANGEL

  • @lostgarcia: Ofcourse it's not. It's just a bird.

  • What was it?

  • a bird

  • @iOwnEbay I'd bet if he did it would be pretty bad!

  • beautiful work! its a kind of performance art, because you cant take your eyes off the process, and you don't realize what it is supposed to be till the very end when its set upright.

    bravo!

  • good knife to cuf off ivory

  • The cleaver-looking one looks dangerous. Don't want to date his daughter.
