Sounds like Glenn Gould on a bass. I love this way of playing, trying to stay out of the habitual way with lots of vibrato and a so-called singing sound. This speaks much better. I'm still mot convinced that we should play Bach cello suites on a bass though...

I think it is also because he is using black bow hair, it gives a more coarse tone than the normal white hair.

I would love to know more about the bass that he plays. The tone is so strong an focused. A lot of that is in the direct way that he plays but the instrument cannot be discounted.

very good!! Bravo!! ...but only one thing : in my opinion there's too much staccato and puntato in too many notes...but wonderful anyway! congratulations! I love double bass!

@francello75 I am sharing the same opinion as you and would like to add that the staccato may still retain the value of the eighth note, whereas the puntato seems to
transform the eighth into a sixteenth with a pause ?
