The truth is that use of man as battery is against first law of thermodynamics. You should feed human to drain energy from him, so why not drain energy from food?
@freedomfighterguy1 That's not very smart, is it? You simply rephrased what great philosophers have been saying for centuries. Ever heard of Descartes?
@freedomfighterguy1 They aren't hugely unusual or original revelations though, it doesn't really even have any significance, that's a lesson taught in even children's books. Don't mean to shit on you man, as any thinking is good in this world that is so devoid of thinking, but don't tout something as your own creation when it has been deliberated for centuries.
Perhaps my favorite scene ever. When Morpheus held up that battery back in 99, I cried and died inside. The battery symbolizes everything modern men in America are bought up to be for their corporate masters. School, work, then death - no life.... only servitude followed by quick and ruthless replacement.
The children, the adults, the endless quiet screams of desperation.....
Most misunderstand the concept of humanity in a state of slavery. Even Jesus told the people of his time, 'you are slaves' and the Jews of the time answered really pissed off, we have never been slaves of anyone!. It is all a matter of syntax, or rather the lack of it. All people in this planet understand slavery as a two part deal, owner and slave... but what if you were a slave but you did not know it and you never got to see your owner? That's what a stake here. Google 'mud shadows chapter'
Google 'mud shadows chapter', this is a chapter from a book called The Active Side of Infinity by Carlos Castaneda. It truly explains the concept of humans being used a source of energy, in this case, as a source of food to another specie that science and the overwhelming majority of humans have not been able to detect yet. The Christian bible states that in the end times the ultimate anti-Christ will be revealed... It won't be human, or from this world. That's how deep this movie is.
The energy you get out of humans are so little (120v only?) a small Duracell battery can do better, while the machines already have Nuclear Fusion, and the guy himself said it. The seriousness got thrown out of the window especially with the Soylent Green-like part about being fed with liquefied people.
You're not getting the concept behind the analogy of humans being used as a source of energy. We're made believe that we are on top of the food chain... but what if there was someone, say another specie or 'something' ABOVE human beings? If you were stealing something from someone would u show yourself to the one you are stealing from? Never!, you'd keep quite as long as you could. Google 'mud shadows chapter', you'll understand this concept... really, really hard to believe.
Has anyone pointed out how humans are picked from what looks very much like a cotton plant? Very ironic. Its a total inversion. In the past, humans enslaved each so that we could perform the tasks that machines later replaced. In the end, humans were not even slaves anymore though; by the end we had become the plant itself.
Just found out today August 30, 2011, that Florida unvieled a machine that will 'liquify the dead and the remains will be poured into the Municipal Water Supply. CONFIRMED! CONFIRMED! THE REPTILES WANT MOTHER EARTH FOR THEMSELVES. WE ARE IN THE WAY!! Overpopulation my ass! It's the excuse for genocide of humans! Once they start (on the poor and minorities) they will move on to you so called 'free peoples'. Do be fooled. They've got the same plan for you!!
@filmtress the movie Soylent Green is actually a really good movie and I suggest you rent it on VHS or DVD or Blu-Ray.
Another good movie is George Orwell's 1984 and George Orwell's Animal Farm.
But both the George Orwell book 1984 and the George Orwell book Animal Farm are 100% times better than the movies due to the movies cutting and changing stuff.
@narukofan2 - Yes, I've heard of both 1984 and Animal Farm. I've even read a fews pages but didn't stick with it. Now some years later I've read many books but haven't thought to revisit Animal Farm. Thanks for your suggestions. As I watch these clips over again I can't believe how much this stuff is true. Just viewed where Neo, Morpheus and Trinity visits the Merovingian. In history I'm learning about the Carolingians/Merovingian Kings and their sick ways. They're playing with gods.
God created all beings in the universe for a reason: Humans, Extraterrestrials, Animals, the whole deal. We just don't why God did and we will never know.
..or commonwealth 96's Nihilism could be a reductionist phase of selfhood... like descartes methodical doubt...it is also a way of deflating a good video excerpt by trolling others to agree with you by saying "profoundidities" like "you can either accept you are flesh and doomed to die...(which is an everyday awareness)...or you can blind yourself with blissfull ignorance...(which is selective listening and in this and many cases not blissfull)- personally i think he is a sullen battery.
i think in all of you who are painfully feeding into the feared propoganda are forgetting a major and important piece of the puzzle ~ you are all the one ~ which means there is nothing to worry about, so do YOU and all else which contradicts you fails.
NEW AGE THINKING IS THINKING PERIOD. THE MORE PEOPLE THINK THE MORE THEY MIGHT GO "CRAZY" OR THINK OUTSIDE OF "THE BOX" . WITHOUGHT IMAGINATION PEOPLE THERE WOULD BE NOTHING COOL...REALIZE THAT THERE IS A MAJOR CONNECTION WITH THIS ILLUMINATI STUFF...WHETHER ITS A HOAX JUST LIKE CIVILIZATION BEING CIVILIZED OR ITS JUST A GREAT IMAGINATION AT WORK
This fucking system makes you a battery, a slave that gets his basic needs, and the illusion of freedom, but in fact is exploited, and most of his work's value is taken away by the system, and used by the people who organizes the system in higher levels.
During this you get the illusion of being free, i.e. you can go anywhere (if you have MONEY), you can get almost anything (if you have MONEY), you can spend your time anyhow (if you have enough MONEY). But the fact is that 90% of people MUST work for the system to have a small piece of this freedom, and have no chance to organize their own time, do what they like, when they like, and still get enough healthy food, proper accommodation, and other basic needs.
Capitalism make you a battery. You wake up each workday, and give your time and energy to a system that produces goods you consume and you would never need if the system didn't exist. Most of your remaining time and energy you spend to consume these things e.g. television, movies, and disposable goods. Time that still remains you need to regenerate to be able to operate well as battery.
"Where the dead are fed to the new generation" . . . because, you know, the 2nd law of Thermodynamics can go fuck itself.
Man, I love this movie, but I really wish the executives wouldn't have fucked the plot up by changing the humans from a type of CPU to a Battery. That's just not only stupid, humans acting as a battery with no outside source of energy (except for their dead) is impossible.

agree with @Commonwealth96. I have never everfound someone with that exact same opinion as me. I know the matrix is real (Not a computer system; but a government system... and including money and religion). But I have no problems with it. We are humans because we wanna look down a pyramid, and only when you're down it, you realise you don't like it.
I might be confusing to understand, but you are 100% right, I've never ever seen a comment that matches my idea of reality as much as yours.
@Commonwealth: I cannot overemphasize how deluded you are. I believe this issue is crucial: at the crux of our world's chief problems. It is the source of the belief that environmental degradation is our right. It underpins the orgy of greed and exploitation we witness every day. Unfortunately, there is no way I can convince you with words of the truth of this. It seems that the only road from your position, which once was mine, to mine is pain. No, that is not the word. Agony. Best regards.
Congratulations, you've realized the futility of arguing opinions and thus revealed yourself to be more brainwashed than you realize. Only sheep, guided by the shepherd, would try to rationalize spirituality. I'm aware of spirituality's positives, but you refuse its negatives.
Environmental Degradation isn't a right, it's an inevitability. The world -will- end, eventually, and we have to escape it. If you don't like it, go live in the woods and fade into obscurity.
@Commonwealth: Like most atheists, you fall back on organized religion as a shibboleth. Who cares? The conduct I deride is known as genocide, the little sister of which is exploitation, and its impetus is the reification of the human spirit. Call it the kingdom of heaven, or the Dao, but these forms of human awareness give rise to communities that nurture us, and societies that prize virtue. I am sorry you are so afraid and deluded. God bless you. Try to pray, it helps!
@lebarosky My friend, must you demean yourself with insults? Don't get worked up over a comment on you tube; perhaps you should do some prayer (or meditation) yourself ;)? Spiritualism blinds us with the belief that we have intrinsic purpose in the universe, and thus gives rise to zealotry (which equates to genocide and exploitation). But it also brings about blissful ignorance through the old belief of karma. Justifiable in a community, it is more of a cop-out to responsibility and is temporary
Um, people. If I may just state my own opinion about this:
How do we know that the world isn't real? Look around you. Is everything there a hallucination? It could be what your brain is picturing. It could be what your brain wants you to believe. It could be a matrix for all you know. This movie was probably inspired by the discussions surrounding this philosophical topic. How do you define real? Something with properties? Something with feelings? Something which you can see and smell.
The dead get liquefied to be fed to the living. The gory nutrients run down tubes into a baby's hungry mouth, other tubes are plugged into his head and back.
Well, hormones, chemicals and sugar run down the supply chain into our greedy mouths. Consumerism, entertainment and religion are plugged into our heads 24/7 so that the elites can distract us while they rob us blind.
We already live in a Matrix: Did you know that most of our taxes go to the friggin' Queen of England?!
And something else... Why is it so "cool" to make comments that make fun of matrix??? Is this the way to be "socially acceptable" ? You even have the writting style "i am so above this, so i can make fun of it"...
@commonwealth96 lol... You sir are the reason why nothing changes, you and your kind. Because you believe nothing can change you oppose to people who want it. Yes, we will all die... The question is: will we be remembered ???
We are slaves not to our needs but to our wants. and the system is feeding you with commercials , genetically modified food, hatred toward each other all this bullshit wars , the system makes you feel miserable if you don't follow the trends of the NWO, you pay them with every cent of Junk that we buy and spend our lives in these virtual machines of material entertainment , The matrix is the system we live in.
@mweldu you dont need conspiracies or iluminatis and half-religious stuff like that to realize people who make all the plans are just a few with just the money and power (actually given to them) to do so
Carlos Slim, the worlds richest person in the world is not so because of his work, but his capacity to build systems. in my country people complain a lot for the distribution of wealth, yet they keep paying Slim´s internet, Slim´s cellphone network, work at Slim´s distribution centers...
We are not slaves. Being a battery for the government is a lie -- created by new-age spiritualists who think we have a better purpose. The truth is, there is no purpose. As human beings the only reason we are alive is because we will it; because we do not know what lies beyond death; because we are driven by instinct. There is no human "spirit" and we cannot "free our mind" -- you can either accept that you are flesh that is doomed to die or you can blind yourself with blissful ignorance.
Who unquestionably accepts his fate and what is presented instead of questioning it with why and seeking answers for himself instead of as Morpheus hopelessly dependent on the system.
@Commonwealth96 Ah, but fear of that inevitable death and disease and pain is what motivates us to keep going forward, to progress and overcome those limitations.
For some, this motivation comes, at least in part, from spiritual beliefs. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's no denying the power mankind has, when motivated by faith and/or conviction to move forward.
@Commonwealth96 The reason the banks own is is not some part of a big conspiracy it is because we wanted to be, it is not on any official document anywhere but once you think about it it is all about the dominance of the tribe, the banks are dominant and we have allowed them to become the super powers they have been and have allowed them to control us through the establishment we call currency. The banks only control us because they can and we have let them, because it was easier by-stand.
Yes, we are slaves, and you'll realize that once you become aware enough.
We're slaves in many ways. Slaves to oil companies, slaves to our bills, slaves to our own perception of reality.
The truth is that there IS purpose and it's beyond any new-age theory. Walter Russell gave the world a better idea of what comes after death. The spirit is Thought. Spirituality is how well you use your thoughts to create power and magnetic energy. Ignorance is not bliss.
Slavery is forced labor. We aren't slaves to oil companies; we don't work for them. We aren't slaves to bills; they are charging us for what we take from them. We cannot be slaves to "our own perception of reality" because that's just fucking stupid. You cannot be a slave to yourself.
We are consumers.
You claim there is purpose, yet you don't say what. Your praising of Mr. Russel is as credible as praising Jesus Christ. Thought isn't spiritual -- it's your brain.
@TheRealVerbz Psychological slavery? It's called manipulation. If you are easily manipulated, then you've allowed your "bonds" to exist. Why would a blind man be in prison in the first place? "... regarded as the Leonardo Da Vinci of our modern era" way to quote Walter Cronkite - and you talk about slavery - pah. Say what you want about purpose, the fact is we are alive because we will it. Claiming to give yourself purpose is only manipulating yourself.
@Commonwealth96 Your words in this post remind me a lot of Tupac's views on the "Illuminati" and Tyler Durden's (in a good way.) You bring up a very good point.
@Commonwealth96 There is a reason why we exist in a universe of dual polaritys, negative and positive, yin yang. But for obvious reasons i cannot get into that here. But, this man made social system that has been created since civilisation began, just keeps getting more efficient and elaborate, it is creating thoughtforms and memes to keep us distracted from the truth, to keep us focused on illusion and a material existence.
@halation777 But this is it. This is all there is. I don't see a better way to live than adjusting our ideals to our realities, so that standing on such ground our ideals can actually become a reality.
@clamarroan You don't KNOW that "this is all there is". Humans can only see a SLIVER of the electromagnetic spectrum. There is MUCH more than "this". We just can't perceive it with our senses.
@halation777 True. Our brain can only perceive the necessary for our survival. However, the reality we are immersed in is what we have. Unless of course we either bend it, or bend our brains, none of which has been successfully performed in the macro levels, as far as I know. My comment referred specifically to the notion that because we are not aware of what we are really made of, then life sucks. I believe we naturally have a bit more of what we can chew and that should be challenging enough.
@wasupniinja You can be perfectly compassionate and happy human being and still realize that we are of little to no significance in this vast universe.
@Commonwealth96 If we are doomed to die, then what is the purpose in the first place? Accidental? Are we just here and conscious of that fact merely by chance? I don't give into that tripe about our doomed fates and the blackness that follows because what the hell kind of life is that? Why not believe in something a little brighter? If what you say is true then where is the pain in thinking we move onto something bigger & better? If logically we turn into dust, then there is no wrong or right.
There is no purpose. Just as Neo was the eventuality of an anomaly, so are we. Life isn't about what's fair.
The problem with believing in "something a little brighter" is that it inspires ignorance and self-assurance without first achieving an understanding of the world around you. There is no right or wrong; morality is what we have made it, and its absurd to think humans can progress morally.
@Commonwealth96 There it is in 500 words or less: the religion of our time. It glorifies the human mind, will, and intellect. It has produced results which are before our eyes, all over the world. Good luck with that. There are no atheists in foxholes, asshole. Go annihilate yourself but leave us out of it.
The "results" and "religion of our time" are products of superstition (religion) and ignorance (note that I am not using the two interchangeably, although there was a period of time where they seemed to). If you want to blame anyone for what's happening today, blame humanity and organized religion.
You can find atheists in foxholes (Pat Tillman/Ernest Hemingway), but humanity as a majority WILL deal with fear irrationally. It's not spirituality, it's psychology.
You a lie. The idea that there is no spirit especially within the object world is the reason things are fucked. The idea of spirit and spirituality is one in which our ancestors related to the natural world, where death wasn't separate from life and people KNEW of whats beyond death and interacted with that world everyday. Spiritlessness is what western culture is based on, what the system of domination and slavery is based on, which is why things are created without mind, and end up polluting
@Commonwealth96 You saying there aren't secrets we haven't uncovered yet? You saying this is life? We are controlled by everything around us. We are born, go to school, are pressured by are parents to do good and go to university. Some of us never get to do the things we wanted to do. We are controlled the most by government. Freeing our minds means freeing ourselves from the "destiny" You say there is no purpose, have an amazing life thinking everything is all nice and dandy.
You allow yourself to conform to society and its rules. The only leash is the one you put around your neck, and pull -- I'm guessing you're young; a fresh teenager; one who has lived in sheltered peace and not seen the world for what it is.
@Commonwealth96 How am i conforming to society if i am against it and the pattern of destiny? I clearly stated that earlier. There is no leash around my neck, you are saying i know nothing because im young. Thats funny because todays young ones are tomorrows old people. Age brings nothing except the new perspectives. I have seen the world for what it is, i have seen war and lies and flip flopping government officials. I know alot more than you think.
@Commonwealth96 you are a pathetic pseudo-intellectual coward who seems to be attempting to rationalize your lack of back-back bone into a half assed, underdeveloped form of existentialism. I hate fuckers like you way more than the corny ass new agers you're trying (and failing) to "set strait" with your little inane tirade. The fact that you got as many likes as you did on this bullshit shows how suggestible and weak so many people are...
@Commonwealth96 as a "new age" thinker who really follows the old path, that's exactly what some philosophies say; there is no reason, but there are greater existences (hey, I won't go into it you'd call me crazy as you haven't been there, though there are millions throughout time who have)
it's about what you want to do with your life; the freedom to
I just haven't gotten around to changing my status at all; I'm too lazy and don't really care
I can't tell you the guidelines (indeed guidelines) behind the way because I haven't mastered the way
and with your way of thinking we are creating a new bind for ourselves; one that does not allow imagination or open-mindedness, something you should learn
I criticize...
in any case, think of it as an ancient psychological piece; that's all
@Commonwealth96 wow, someones convinced of their stoic atheism. listen, pal, what you believe is what you believe, dont try to tout it as absolute truth. I respect what you believe, partly because I have lost my faith, but your insistence in this, your lack of respect for opposing ideologies is the exact same thought process that repressed advancement in the western world in the middle ages. why don't you lead your life as you wish and stop bashing others' belief systems on stuff you cant prove?
@Commonwealth96 or you can do the best you can to live out your utter most joy and happiness in your life as a human being and not as excessive worker, unless of course your job brings you the most joy, much love ~
@Commonwealth96 But there is a third choice...knowing that, may there be or not be a purpose for life, it is pointless pursuing nor denying. One thing I am certain of tho, is that there are a million things that makes me happy, but I must learn to let go when time's up. Now those, I happily pursue...
@Commonwealth96 a nihilist finds the qust. of "why" to be a meaningless vs. of the question "how". 'How' asks qustns of the past, and 'why' is future depndnt. This is signfct b/c concepts like purpose r as well and consume our concern, thus the nihlst is guilty of ignrng. an entire half of existence (where things are going). Life (technology) persists, and should it survive and overcome the Universe (called Omega Point Theory) many things are possible: your resurrection among them. Why?=freedom
so what's the deal? I mean it's not like humans produce energy magically. They obtain it out of somewhere. So what is the source? Dead bodies? Surely that alone can't mantain the needs of all the living. So they have to waste energy to produce nutrients to feed the humans. I mean we are not self-sustainable. Does that ever get adressed?
You are making quite an assumption when you state 'it is not like humans produce energy magically'... You could be wrong! The 'energy' we produce means nothing to humans but it is the 'food' of another specie staying in this planet, this 'energy' can't be measured. Google 'mud shadows chapter' and read it. This will explain the concept of humanity 1-Being used as food source and 2-Being subjugated WITHOUT awareness and 3-whoever/whatever is doing this is extremely intelligent.
When I first time watched the Matrix, I didin't noticed the truth. Now it is clear, that this is not only the movie about some posibility. It is a message about our current situation...
this scene always bothered me: feeding the dead to the living would be as stupid as recharging a battery with a fresh battery, and expecting to get more power out of that. You'd get more power if you just used the fresh battery.
how about, "the human brain is crude, and imprecise but it can do things programming cannot; it can innovate and create. That is why the machines need us, to progress.
@hannahk426 What is crap? Is it waste produced after the nutrience has been sucked out of it by the human body? Or is it just a word created by your brain?
This movie has some amazing truths in it if you have the right understanding, in our life on earth we are feeding the sprit world with our emotional energy. Negative feelings feed the dark entites and love feeds the entites of light. Thats why we are hear just like in the movie we are in a matrix as well but its not machines we feed?
We are a battery for the goverment, for society, we buy things that we believe we need, they need our money, we are slaves of adictions. We think the matrix is real,we think this world is the reality, but there is not spoon, it is just an illusion. We are slaves of the goverment, of society, of rules, of our adictions, We need to be free. We don't need to be rich to be happy. We are slaves of our own vanity. A spirit is free. Free your mind. In my opinion, love, friendship is what realy matters
@LALUCEDELMONDO Bullshit, live without those "addictions" for a year. Join the Peace Corps, live in Africa, and tell me how unnecessary all these "addictions" are.
@LALUCEDELMONDO I agree but let me add and reword a bit, we are the batteries that "power" the prevailing power structure with our *labor* and *obedience*, just by needing to use money and buy goods we are actively participating in a system of gross exploitation--of ourselves, of most of the rest of the worlds population, of the earth's resources--a system that rapes, pillages and murders for profit and that dominates the mass mind through monopolization and control of media and education...
There is one problem in the real world life forms would like bactertia and viruses would still exist without the absence of light, um answer please, lol

@filmtress the movie Soylent Green is actually a really good movie and I suggest you rent it on VHS or DVD or Blu-Ray.
Another good movie is George Orwell's 1984 and George Orwell's Animal Farm.
But both the George Orwell book 1984 and the George Orwell book Animal Farm are 100% times better than the movies due to the movies cutting and changing stuff.
narukofan2 4 months ago
@narukofan2 - Yes, I've heard of both 1984 and Animal Farm. I've even read a fews pages but didn't stick with it. Now some years later I've read many books but haven't thought to revisit Animal Farm. Thanks for your suggestions. As I watch these clips over again I can't believe how much this stuff is true. Just viewed where Neo, Morpheus and Trinity visits the Merovingian. In history I'm learning about the Carolingians/Merovingian Kings and their sick ways. They're playing with gods.

But the fact is that 90% of people MUST work for the system to have a small piece of this freedom, and have no chance to organize their own time, do what they like, when they like, and still get enough healthy food, proper accommodation, and other basic needs.
kf6h4hjj5 6 months ago
Capitalism make you a battery. You wake up each workday, and give your time and energy to a system that produces goods you consume and you would never need if the system didn't exist. Most of your remaining time and energy you spend to consume these things e.g. television, movies, and disposable goods. Time that still remains you need to regenerate to be able to operate well as battery.

agree with @Commonwealth96.
ChateauSiran1986 9 months ago
@Commonwealth: I cannot overemphasize how deluded you are. I believe this issue is crucial: at the crux of our world's chief problems. It is the source of the belief that environmental degradation is our right. It underpins the orgy of greed and exploitation we witness every day. Unfortunately, there is no way I can convince you with words of the truth of this. It seems that the only road from your position, which once was mine, to mine is pain. No, that is not the word. Agony. Best regards.

Try to pray, it helps!
lebarosky 9 months ago
@lebarosky My friend, must you demean yourself with insults? Don't get worked up over a comment on you tube; perhaps you should do some prayer (or meditation) yourself ;)? Spiritualism blinds us with the belief that we have intrinsic purpose in the universe, and thus gives rise to zealotry (which equates to genocide and exploitation). But it also brings about blissful ignorance through the old belief of karma. Justifiable in a community, it is more of a cop-out to responsibility and is temporary
Commonwealth96 9 months ago

@Commonwealth96 Speak for yourself.
TheRealVerbz 1 year ago
@TheRealVerbz
Commonwealth96 1 year ago
@Commonwealth96 You view yourself as a consumer. There is also psychological slavery. Look into Naim Akbar.
The definition of slavery is ultimately in the mind. How is a blind man to know he's in a prison? If you feel free, then you are.
Walter Russell was regarded as the Leonardo Da Vinci of our modern era. Not even Einstein knew about him. He gave Tesla most of his ideas.
Purpose is subjective. Choose your own purpose. Jesus Christ is a label meaning The Anointed One and wasn't his real name.
TheRealVerbz 1 year ago
@TheRealVerbz Psychological slavery? It's called manipulation. If you are easily manipulated, then you've allowed your "bonds" to exist. Why would a blind man be in prison in the first place? "... regarded as the Leonardo Da Vinci of our modern era" way to quote Walter Cronkite - and you talk about slavery - pah. Say what you want about purpose, the fact is we are alive because we will it. Claiming to give yourself purpose is only manipulating yourself.

It is not as simple as you describe.

clamarroan 3 months ago
@clamarroan You don't KNOW that "this is all there is". Humans can only see a SLIVER of the electromagnetic spectrum. There is MUCH more than "this". We just can't perceive it with our senses.
halation777 3 months ago
@halation777 True. Our brain can only perceive the necessary for our survival. However, the reality we are immersed in is what we have. Unless of course we either bend it, or bend our brains, none of which has been successfully performed in the macro levels, as far as I know. My comment referred specifically to the notion that because we are not aware of what we are really made of, then life sucks. I believe we naturally have a bit more of what we can chew and that should be challenging enough.

If logically we turn into dust, then there is no wrong or right.
betonyourmuse 10 months ago
@betonyourmuse
Commonwealth96 10 months ago
@Commonwealth96 There it is in 500 words or less: the religion of our time. It glorifies the human mind, will, and intellect. It has produced results which are before our eyes, all over the world. Good luck with that. There are no atheists in foxholes, asshole. Go annihilate yourself but leave us out of it.
lebarosky 9 months ago
@lebarosky
It's not spirituality, it's psychology.

so what's the deal?
