In your opinion. To say that though, is very small minded. They are completely different styles of music. It's the old apples and oranges comparison. I could never say I will always eat apples because they are better. Sometimes you want the taste of an orange. It's a simple analogy, but helps with these insipid arguments over who is better. Tortoise is Prog Rock, Dream Theater is Prog Metal. Maybe if you said a Tortoise cover band was better, there would be a quantitative debate.

It's all but impossible to compare Pink Floyd and Tortoise, and many people would consider them both prog rock (plus the difference in equipment because of the generation gap has to be considered), or Tool and Dream Theatre and they're both prog metal. I've been following both for over six years now, and I can enjoy both for what they are and honestly I don't prefer either.
