It has stock bottom end. Stock GM 243 heads, EPS cam, Comps 918 beehives, hardened pushrods (7.425" length), LS6 oil pump, LS2 chain/timing gear, GM stock MLS head gaskets, upgraded the trunnion on the stock rockers... basically GM heads (stock) with a cam with supporting valvetrain mods, bolt ons (MTI lid, LS6 intake/ported tb/longtube headers/true duals) and a HPTuners tune by me. Since then I added FTP 98mm lid and 85 mm MAF and I got to retune for that.
Yes. I'll dyno the car again because I retuned the car after I found out how jacked up the tuned (it was running way too rich) and run it in the track to see the trap will mirror the power it put down.
There are a few cars with this cam and these heads... one was dynoed with 430 @ the wheels, that's with a stalled auto ls6 long block.
I'm still getting the same MPG (27-30) on the highway as I didn't change the gear ratio, not needed with this cam/heads set up. I'm guessing 18-19s in the city, it's a guess because I can't seem to stop romping the car every now and then.
Damn i love that combo. There are plenty of cars with that combo running mid 11's. I want to get those heads, but i'll have them pocket ported just to get about 290 cfm. Nice setup!!
Yeah, once I get back to the states, I'll get my 243 heads ported and do a valve job done by Advance Induction. Should have a nice gain over being stock and all. Or just skip it and do a D1SC PROCHARGE mod.
hey Ive ben wondering about these heads are the 243 heads kinda of a rear GM head? because Ive read that there"sought after"so I'm guessing these are these a rear head that people would pay far out the ass for or no I'm just wondering is all if you can help me ide be thankful :)
I don't know what is a rear GM head... But it is a stock GM head that you will see on LS6/LS2 blocks, GTOs, TrailBlazer SS's, C5 Z06s, and early model C6s.
243 heads is the best GM cathedral port stock heads you can have for LS Gen III engines. They are even better when they are ported.
@bbrice5798 oh ok cool....I was just wondering, im putting on a set of ported 243's and a MS3 cam so I was just curious as to know what power it would be making
The best number it put down is 488.8 HP but the tuner is questionable. I looked at the tune he did on my car and it sucked. AFR were FAT 11.7 at 6K rpm and the rest of the tune were all jagged. I'm getting it retune and possible redyno sometime.
The tuner/dyno operator is a tard. I found out later he dynoed/tuned my car on the same gear, which was 3rd. So he had some weird formula after the runs, you'll see in the vid how the car runs 440+ then 480+ then 430+... etc. Something really retarded stupid.
what all is done to it cam and stock ported heads with internals

High teens low 20's. Im asking because this seems like a perfect setup for a daily driver.

Gas milage still good with the tune?

Gas mileage is still good, not as good when it was bolt ons but it's still good.

@silverm6ta
No heads weren't ported, intake was LS6 intake/ported throttle body.

BTW, the tuner dynoed my car on 3rd GEAR.

@bbrice5798 haha yea I saw that 488 on the screen and thought "what the hell kind of tune is that?"
I've been hearing awesome things about these EPS cams
What are the specs on your's?

@manzo70 Baby cam, 222/226, .59x/.59x int/exh lift- .05" 113 lsa

@bbrice5798 There's no way you'r making 480+ unless he's doing something to try to calculate crank hp, in which case it's an educated guess at best.
