  • Looked up that Guy Harrison that was referred to here. He is a Canadianbased maker of classical stringed instruments. There must have been a story behind the guitar he made for Peter. Pete's memory seems shot, but as others said, a delightful man, still enjoys life and achieved so much in a short time. Bless him.

  • I WOULD LOVE HAVING THAT DOBRO

  • @VIDARMATHISEN - THE FIRST ONE HE SHOWS US.... HE OFCOURSE GOT MORE THEN ONE HE HE

  • Someone traded him garbage for gold like giving a baby a big nickle for his little dime. Mercy!

  • There but for the grace of God goes Keith Richards ...

  • I Got 2 Meet & See Peter Green Play @ Wilberts In Cleveland Oh When He Toured The States Back In The 90's !! He Was A Really Nice Man !! & A Super Talent On The Guitar !! Oh My

  • nice guitars of one of my guitar heroes

  • Two tragic Jewish blues giutarist, both the best at what they do. Peter Green and Mike Bloomfield. Why does it happen that way. I never did any drugs and I'm glad that I saw it that way for myself back in those days when I went to see these guys, 1968.

  • its a shame what became of him!

  • Thanks to Nigel Watson!

  • wow what a beautiful resonator

  • yes he is a dear man and always has been i knew him well many years ago. i love him to bits.

  • This video bring's a f----g lump to my throat,i really love this lad one of the best blues guitarist's ever, what a sad end for just being a genious....god love ya mate.

  • fried is the word ..shame

  • Alot of those guitar look vintage and would probably be worth alot!

  • i love peter green, past and present but he really is different to how he was back in the day... not from age just the drugs and years in hopsital, its rly very sad, but all support to him for getting back to it :)

  • 2:03 minute mark they're looking at a blonde Fender Telecaster.

Does he say it's made in Japan?

He also said the Ibanez bought in Norway was Japanese?

  • Live 4 ever Peter !!

  • can i have one please? just one!!

  • jesus christ.....he just showed us the finest of the finest guitars in tha world...:-0 he should sell 'em before he dies...:-) ....Welll...I would...:-)

  • they are all really good instruments. most are better than strats & les pauls.

his comments about the wiring on the guitars are very interesting. i heard him play a year or so ago in sydney and his playing his still excellent. i saw jeff beck the previous night but i enjoyed peter's playing more.

  • amazing

  • The mental illness would have manifested regardless of what he put into his body.. Read" From Chocolate to Morphine" by Dr. Andrew Weil.. God bless Peter.

  • Jeeze each of those guitar must be worth a small fortune!

  • In his day, nobody could lay down a Les Paul like Peter Green. NOBODY!!!

  • One of my heroes.

  • @wellingtonian

    How right you are.

  • the LP junior was another great single PU guitar.

  • @MrMeddled I think there might be a few page fans who might give you an argument but back to green. He may have flipped it by accident but he would have known immediately he had something interesting. But now he's so fed up with it he just plays single pickup guitars and the only noteworthy guitar of that ilk is the fender esquire,.

  • @MrMeddled full on out of phase is a very limited tone but you can play with the volume and tone knobs for a whole pallet of tones.Page used it all the time but nobody hounds him about his guitar setup. They just talk about his virtuoso skills.

  • is he picking out guitars that he wants to take on tour with him

  • 'PETER' owns more guitars than 'JIMMY PAGE', i think !!! all in a store ??? 'can't believe this video !!!!! LES

  • @lesleypaul59 I just bought my 4th electric 6 string guitar and love it but I feel reassured that I don't have too many guitars when I see this.................... & I have plenty

  • He stated once that his famous Les Paul broke his heart. Notice his weird responses to the Les Paul questions.

  • @PBANDSNOW I think His mental breakdown was some how in PG's mind and heart connected to the the Les Paul guitar he was playing at the time and that upsets him.In as much that , that period and that guitar is like an unresolved issue for him.

  • God what an annoying interviewer.. Bullying Peter around and demanding to play his guitars. His hands are not worthy to touch the personal belongings of the legend that is Peter Green!

  • I guess with a single pickup guitar he doesn't have to worry about all us aholes askin' him about his out of phase sound all the time.

  • Peter Green is no less than a true living legend. God bless him.

  • wot an old cunt

  • @outtacastatv and you are probably a hip hop or rapper crapper shithole lol

  • @padawan007 fuck off cuntbastard

  • @outtacastatv fail..

  • @padawan007 wot to see the purpose in ur life!? blazed

  • Heaven.

  • he opens the cases like he doesn't know what to expect

  • The drugs really weren't good to you pete were they?

  • I was expecting a stash of strats, Les pauls, teles, martins,335's, instead we have this funny little collection of junk shop oddities. Bless him.

  • @Jackiesstash08 Not all junk, there is a nice Telecaster and a couple of Strats in there. However It is heartbreaking that he doesn't own a Les Paul.

Although im sure Green could make anything sound amazing!

  • @Jackiesstash08 Obviously, a poor judgement!

  • @Jackiesstash08 (grin) Wish they had junk shops like that where I live! ALL good quality guitars, buddy.

  • @Jackiesstash08 lets see, I saw an Ibanez Iceman early 70s purchased in Norway Peter said, an early 50s strat, a 52 tele, in TV yellow no less, a left handed 57 strat, an Aloha Edition Dobro, even a couple custom made guitars from boutique guitar shops. You are calling this "junk shop oddities"? Cripes you know nothing about guitars.

  • @IvanTuroc let's see, there's no clear indication of the age of the first strat but it's definitely not 'early 50s' as it has a rosewood board, the tele looks to be a cheapy 80s japanese model (yellow finish, 6 barrel modern bridge, modern tuners and pickguard, etc.) and the 'left handed 57 strat'?! this is an 'encore' branded stratocaster copy; an entry level guitar that can be bought for next to nothing. Cripes you shouldn't be so quick to criticize others.

  • These posts are wonderful ! Peter has a great sense of humor!

  • Babes, and a few butter faces, love it!

  • how come hes got alot of unknown cheap brands ?? this man deserves better

  • @wisesatyr72

I think he is broke, makes me mad to think of Peter scraping around clubs for a living while pop stars and rap idiots drive Bentleys

  • I would love to see peter green and lindsey buckingham jam together!

  • In the 1960s drug experimentation was regarded as GOOD for you.

Altered consciousness was revered...the same as smoking was considered a healthy practice in the 1940s.

There was alot of naivety that existed about LSD so i can't blame any for trying it..

I'm amazed that Peter Green did survive because it's been said he took 100 consecutive hits of LSD (on a bet) somewhere in Europe. Peter is a great guy.

BB King & Otis Spann always loved Peter Green's playing.

  • @taildragger53 I took acid two day s in a row and that was enough!. I was gone matey gone!

  • Peter is a sweet man and you can see it in old interviews and today but the drugs clearly changed him. What a shame that some scumbags kept pumping him with the crap until it semi-fried his beautiful artists mind. Still we are lucky to have him still playing. Amazing he ever came back after that nightmare journey.

  • @SIXSTRING63 John McVie to this day threatens to kill those who did that to him and he says he's serious. Fortunately, no one knows who did it to him.

  • @SIXSTRING63 what scumbags and what were they pumping him with

  • @tingly7654321 Acid over in Germany in the early 70's.

  • @SIXSTRING63 i think its a bit too easy to blame the dealers or "scumbags" when he took them out of his own free will. he shares in the blame too.

  • @bigdaddy496 Well they did the same thing to Danny Kirwin during the same period. When someone has clearly had enough you don't force more down their throat. A bartender would be put in prison for getting someone that fucked up to cause damage. I think at first no one twisted his arm but later I think they took advantage of a messed up person and just kept pushing it until he was fried.

  • @bigdaddy496 PG was a tripper and reefer man , and his decision to give his money from F.Mac away to charity came from a mescaline trip that he took of his own accord.Tripping puts you in touch with some cosmic forces, man but after you get ' the message' you should hang up the phone ... if you know what I mean.

  • what a consumate musician and perfect gentleman he seems from this video & all I know of him..

  • To watch him stand among those various six-strings he still continues to be an awesome and awe-inspiring force , how ever could one not feel his influence nomatter what brand or model was played as that he was alway's about tone. When he said ` It plays lovely ' he means it . They play lovely and they sound lovely as well . Peter Green don't need a Les Paul !

  • i think thaT we ALL were waiting for the response of a les paul from greenie.

but make no mistake about it,LSD hurt peter, syd.

i tried the stuff as a teenager, and it became a popular favorite of mine.

after a while,i started to eat it like candies.but the after effects did show themselves and it became apparent to me that this stuff is no joke! beware...

  • i have the same Tanglewood ES-335 copy.. it's a great guitar

  • that ibanez is awsome

  • Yes the vid didnt show much, I desperately wanted to see that Green hollow body, but if he did massive LSD that could explain his lethargy.

  • I'm shocked he still owns a collection. I woulda thought he would have lost them all over the years. He's a legend but as shaky as Syd Barrett was after the massive LSD doses ruined his mind.

It changes you, no doubt about it.

  • the guy interviewing Pete was always waiting to see a Les Paul, He was majorly bummed out when Pete said he doesn't own any, LMAO

  • bless him, the blokes a legend, but if you walked past him on the street your wouldnt batter an eye lid, especially if he was talking to you you'd probably think he was a homeless guy about to ask for money.

    Dont take LSD kids!

  • Be careful of LSD. It can induce schizophrenia and psychosis in certain people.

  • @helpdonate1 YES YOUR VERY RIGHT I TOOK LSD 20 YRS AGO AND IVE BEEN PARONOID EVER SINCE DRINK BEER SMOKE POT AND YOU WILL SOBER UP THE NEXT DAY BUT TAKE LSD AND YOUR LIFE CHANGES AFTERWARDS YOU NEVER ARE THE SAME SO BEWARE KIDS! IT HAS RUINED MY LIFE !!!!!

  • man he dose not want them to look at his guitars much

  • what the fuck is he ramblin on about..

  • @fretboarder I think he means one pick up gives you a purer sound , with less circuitry and less fiddling about with the controls on stage.

  • @taariqtaariq hes meant to be a good guitar player i doubt he would have trouble with guitar controlls.

  • @fretboarder No Doubt He is one of the greats but the simplicity/ &/Or/ beauty of Teles and Les Paul Juniors are in the simple pick up circuits and simple controls which give a purity of sound in relation to the amp and the player's hands.

Big Fat Lesley West had one pick up on his axe at Woodstock 1969 and he was just a blistering virtuoso in the blues rock genre.

  • between peter not taking the guitars out enough to even see them fully & the camera man we get to see peter but not much of the guitars, take them out plug em in show them off he seems reluctant like someone is going to case his collection..

  • @MOSKII58 he's not a show off

  • Holy crap...the POT of Gold...I can understand why he keeps 'em in security room!

  • Les Paul.."no..given up on that one."

HOLY CRAP. so much for that

  • Holy crap...the POT of Gold...I can understand why he keeps 'em in security room!

  • not a bad collection for a guy who for years didn't own any and refused to play

  • so good to see THE BLUESMAN & HIS GUITARS!!!

  • You don't think he's so keen on one pickup because that is what his replacement uses to great effect.

  • wow, never took Peter Green for an Ibanez Iceman owner!

  • anyone know what the first resonator style acoustic he shows is called?

  • Tha ibanez is the Steve Miller Iceman Signature. Very hard to find!

  • guy harrison is still making guitars.

  • i love that he can remember where he bought them.

  • It saddens me somehow to see such beautiful guitars locked away. I wonder how often they actually get to do what they were made for?

  • @PhilipPorter i'm ok with it as long as they belong to greeny, silly as that sounds. they can do more work when he passes them on.

  • @mistersnaredrum

yeah and dont guitars sound better as they age?

  • @daytongulayets1993

many people say that, yeah. not sure if an ibanez iceman will age and mature the same way most 1959 Les Pauls did though...

  • @mistersnaredrum

yea that ibanez is beastly lol

  • @PhilipPorter they are al joust in his solo days back in the days this are not al his guitar he owns some of his old gibsons

  • all this guitars are jewels my god !!!

  • HIs brain is totally ruined by drug abuse. Fucking legend, I love peter green. IMO the best of British Blues.

  • He's missing 1 guitar.

  • the second i heard my uncle play a song with peter green.. i knew there was something special.. so he ended up being my main influence and inspiration to play the guitar because hes just so creative and down to earth like.. i know this is one person that i've never met that i actually will be really really sad when he dies.. almost like a part of what i love doing will go also... peter is the fuckin man i hope i get to meet him but i doubt it cuz im just a 15 year old kid..

  • Do you interesting an original Van halen guitar?

  • hmm...Eddie Van Houten?? too hairy...

  • wow, he has a wide collection cheap ones and custom ,he clearly loves all different kinds of gtrs, the lacewood looking archtop is stunning im droolin over that one

  • 1 word WOW

  • is this in his house?

  • does it loo like his hse? He would live in a flippin' prison then...This looks like ALCATRAZ...

  • didn't Clapton give his guitars away to charity? (good man)

  • i think he auctioned off "blacky" for around 2 million all of that went to charity

  • @septip123: clappers also sold quite few guitars in the early 70's to finance his junk addiction.

  • for such a legand like green...fairly odd collection...some kinda crappy

  • @bluez1981 I bet guys like him get guitars handed to them left and right.

  • peter green has an iceman?!

  • Comment removed

  • I wish that old colector would sell it back to him for a lowprice or somthin.. it would be fuckin cool to see him with his old axe.

  • Apparently Green doesn't even want it back that badly......said it was a "fuddy old thing" or something like that.

  • Thank god..Ive heard he sold all of his guitars after he left fleetwood mac

  • not al of them he got some old gibson,s 2 from the old days

  • i love this guy! he's one of my favourite people. brilliant!!!

  • Gary Moore dosn't own Peter's Les Paul anymore.

  • jes thats right some guitar colector hes it

  • Peter , what a bunch of babes!

  • d00d tht green es 335 is niceeeee

  • peter was god

  • no dude you are saying that wrong peter is god;-)

  • Totally----Clapton is!

    Everyone knows that.... ;)

  • i dont understand what you are talking about ??? snåkker de norsk???? but yeah green is god on the guitar and he still rocks

  • he doesnt always plays well , in the recent cds it si well known that Nigel Watson did most of the job, but certainly he was ine of the best back inthe 60s and 70s

  • COOL!

  • What a great video,Gary Moore should give him his Les Paul back, now for collection 2!

  • Why? Green doesn't care for Les Paul's.

  • Maybe he doesn't prefer them now but Peter's best work was done on Les Paul's with Fleetwood Mac.

  • on one particular les paul and a strat.

  • uhm dude make your home work peter was heaving 6 les pauls in his early days and he still het 2 gibsons

  • Peter told me this info himself, So you go back to the homework!

  • than you must not know peter he,s a brother and there are 2 guitars from green in his house my friend i think that i will get a 10 on skole greens he,s always love,d les pauls but in his time he was sick was he giving them away but not al of them

  • Yeah he gave me his 72 custom LP on my 21st birthday, So I think I do know the man. LOL

  • lul niet zo dom lmaoXD
