On the topic of the "American Minimal Music" tag which originally also confused me greatly and made me comment quite harshly on Americans thinking their the centre of the universe

It seems "American Minimal Music" is a book Monsieur Mertens wrote (his first book). Quote from Monsieur Mertens own website:

"He wrote American Minimal Music, the first book which deals in depth with the school of American repetitive music."

@SUFFIG As far as I know, there's nothing American about this..? As stated, Mertens is Belgian. And last time I checked, this music genre isn't called American Minimal Music. Despite American science, the world doesn't spin around you. First time by Nicolaus Copenricus (1473-1543) even.
