Purple shirt is an idiot. It is your responsibility. As in, the average person. The companies are somewhat to blame, but they are funded by the people who use the product.
BP is more American owned than British. IF BP goes down, American pension funds will take a huge hit. Also the excitable guy below (Tashkentgoatman) is actually right - there is no such company as British Petroleum. Also the words Union Carbide & Bhopal spring to mind.
its BP..GOT IT BP ..not British petroleum..it hasnt been British petroleum for 10 years..its 40% American owned all systems were fitted by Dick Cheyne it was run by Americans..i tell you what is British ,,,the soldier dying in Afghan...thats Britsh you yank shits...you deserve all you get ....youve even turned on you Allies the UK ..YOU DOGS
Watch out that the chief of the company BP (dirt) said that this incident was "small" .. as his head since to qualify it of small supposes that he is the mentally handicapped mental one ... how there is going to be small this that is too serious for the ecosystem. They say they are lies the wasteful quantities of oil .. that are 5000 barrels lol and that only 40 little marine turtles have died (but that is not known to certain science that is for the oil) Damned idiots!
If they are going to do the things let them do it well, but do not blame on me of the stupidities that these companies do. They poison the world, I am not a capitalism fan .. they must get away to another land and let them do all the miserable things they usually do...
What is to speak to the silly thing, you do not know who I am and already you say that I consume British Extraordinary's dirt Petroleum (yes sir?), only I go to bother myself in answering you that I do not have a car in order not to poison more the ecosystem as other people or companies do!! No more.....
Oh thank you British Petroleum for all your stupidities in the Gulf of Mexico, Happy Day of the Earth!, thank you United States for taking care of the ecosystem!. When see stupid people who believes that these idiots are the managers of taking care of the environment, for god! Die and go to the hell!! Who are these idiots!? BNritish? like the company? I´d rather have ecosystem than these idiots and their companies!
@MANUELFARINELLI What you're saying is hillarouis because sometime in the next month you will but BP gas in your car or drive ina car with BP gas in it, hypocrite, you the consumer are the problem.
Blue shirt is an IDIOT! BP is trying to get him to use LESS of their product. Whether or not their data is correct, they undeniably are saying use less energy.
It is much cheaper to maintain the status quo and keep upping the price of oil than it is to switch technologies.
The energy companies will adapt to new technologies only when oil becomes so cost prohibitive that the average consumer will be unable to afford it.
The only reason oil companies do any research is to placate our sense of duty to Earth. BP makes 8-10 Billion US dollars a quarter. Spending that much over ten years to finance alternative energy is nothing to them.
For example, last year BP dumped 8 billion dollars into a 10 year alternative fuel research program. And they already have a huge market selling wind, solar, and biofuel technologies.
You have to realize, BP isn't just an oil company...they are an ENERGY company. Inevitably, it is energy companies that will provide future "green" technologies. It isn't going to be environmental groups that offer green energies...it's going to be engineers and scientists who work for companies like BP who will end up developing and selling these new sources of energy to us...the people.
In the United States, BP markets their products and services under five name brands so if you don't agree with what they are doing, don't give them any of your money!
I believe the proposal to allow increased dumping of ammonia and toxic sludge into Lake Michigan from British Petroleum's oil refinery in Whiting, Indiana is unconscionable. Certainly a company that claims to be "Beyond Petroleum" can also be beyond polluting our waters.
Please halt progress on this proposal now and find a way to deal with the waste this plant produces other than dumping more of it into Lake Michigan.
So the loud guy who objects so much winds up admitting that it is down to us after all - just not as much as the ad suggests...huh? He didn't have to buy into that lifestyle. And anyway, no-one knew the environmental impact until recently. It is up to us to change our ways - the energy companies only supply it because we demand it.

Absolutely. It is called an Orphaned initialism. It is now simply 'BP', and that is it.

We can't hit them with argumentum ad hominem. They're kinda right. If they quit making gas and such, someone else would pick up the slack.
Private individuals have to make the switch.
There really is no other way.
