Voting for McCain or Obama means voting for electors from your state. You don't vote for the candidate. The electoral college chooses the president. The popular vote doesn't count.

Politicians at all levels of government will study these election returns for the next four years.
Hey derrrr.. It doesn't bother me that you don't support Nader. What bothers me is your idiotic post. It shows that
A)you have yet to reach anything above a 3rd grade education,or
B)you're brain is ruined from smoking too much crack.
Either way, Nader is the only one supporting better education and health care for all.
So if you manage to find your way to a polling station in November, maybe you should reconsider your vote. Nader might be the only thing left to help you.
i really like Nader. He is such an honest guy. But dont worry about those radio ads. Ppl are getting tired of ads anyway. And 2nd: ppl who are too ignorant to check Nader/Gonzalez out by now wont change their mind b/c of a single ad.
please get all the third party candidates (Robert Barr, Ron Paul, Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, Charles Baldwin) to form an Alliance and nominate ONE candidate for Nov 08 election. The Third Party Alliance's nominee for US presidential election in November 2008 will have a much higher chance of winning the majority of votes.
obama . i know about barr's record. but i am a free market libertarian and nadar is basically ca socialist that wants minimum wages and think that is an awful policy I do not think that government should be setting wage and price controls.
i want freedom and Bob barr has changed and is for much more freedom than nadar
Is that why Barr vote Yes To The Patriot Act? Barr voted Yes for a law that will take away Americans right to Freedom of Speech and to law that will allow the government to tap your phone and to arrest Americans with no charges files and no legal representation along with Obama and McCain.
you forget to mention that ever since Bob barr voted for the the patriot act he has fought through the american civil liberties union to get rid of it and he has admitted that was a big mistake.
Some people actually can change i know because i am one of the4m. Barr has really changed and he looks at these policys differently. you have no evidence to believe that Bob Barr has not really changed his idea. After all dont some of us learn when we make mistakes and get older.
i can't believe all these old folks going for barr? he can apologize all he wants i don't forgive him for voting for the patriot act..plus was he good cia or bad..how many cocaine planes have crashed now anyway? nader 08
i support all you left wingers that vote for Nadar because he is better than obama. but i belive in free markets and limited govt so i will vote for bob barr
this country is taking a radical shift toward bigger govt and it scares me. govt is not the the solution it is the problem . all problems created today are because of bad govt policies and incentives. The free market is perfect if left alone and people do not commit force, theft or fraud. the problem is there has been way to much force ie community reinvestment act. fraud: ie no full disclosure on mortgages, theft: ie. naked short selling and credit default swaps . ask questions please?
you still haven't answered my question. What is the alternative to making sure we don't end up in a situation where people are working too hard and not earning enough money to survive. Give me an example of where there is/was a truly Free Market and the out come was good. History shows us that the Market gets abused by the strongest players. What is the solution to that? Do you get rid of police when there is crime on the streets? You need police regulating greedy corporations too.
Bob Barr has such an interesting history with he Libertarian Party--they basically never really liked him (ran TV ads against him and had him ousted out of the 7th district) and now you have Libers that are ALL ABOUT BARR? Give me an f'n break. Barr was a member of the CIA and he voted for the Patriot Act and I don't care if he says it was a mistake. That's bullshit. Nader is the only candidate I trust in '08.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
hugh . i would never vote for anyone that wants wage and price controls like Nadar . I think that the minimum wage is the second worst policy that a govt can engage in. If you have a minimum wage you are in effect saying that it is illegal to work if no one will employ you at that minimum wage.
alansready, Ralph Nader is not for a minimum wage, he is for a "living wage" he is for workers rights. What is the alternative that ensures workers don't get raped by their employers? We don't let people who are rapists go free, should we let corporations who rape people financially go free? We've seen what can happen when corporations are given no limits. They ruin the world. Free Market is a nice thought. But how realistic is it in todays world? There has to be a balance. That's Ralph Nader.
i must fight with everyone on this board about nadar because of the minimum wage or the code word living wage. I have told you i respect nadar but i strongly protest this idea that the govt should be setting wages.
I cant make this more clear this is the second worst thing any govt can do next to starting wars and killing people. Doesnt everyone understand that if you set some arbitrary wage that some people will not be able to find work at that wage and will be forced to starve
well alllsoul what happens if no one will hire a person that needs a job at 10 dollars an hour? But they would hire that person at 8 dollars an hour. should we let that potential worker starve to death ? Please answer
Or should we pay people chump change for hard labor that won't feed their families let alone provide them enough for health care, etc. People have to make enough money to survive. This is the reasoning behind Nader's Living Wage. There are going to be large corporations who abuse the system. Think of Wal Mart. So if what you are implying is that there will be less jobs because of a Living Wage. Then back it up. To me it would make sense that the economy grows when people have money to spend.
"echoexist" you refuse to answer my question. If you set the minimum wage at 10 dollars an hour and no one will pay me that wage but there is some business that agrees to pay me 9 dollars an hour are you going to refuse me that job ? ANSWER!!!!
It's a hypothetical question. Chances are you won't have to accept a lower wage if companies are required to pay a minimum amount. We live in that world today with the current minimum wage, do we not? The problem is the minimum wage is too low and people can't afford to live. The other problem is that you have companies sending jobs overseas and paying pennies for foreign labor. Those are two problems that need a remedy. Both of which will make for a stronger economy here.
you do not want to have an intelligent debate. you are just plain wrong and it is not moral or ethical to keep someone from getting a job because you deem it is too little. . Why is it yours or the govt business? please take a course in logic. you really are pissing me off.
should we pay people chump change for hard labor that won't feed their families let alone provide them enough for health care? "
businesses and employers should agree on a price and it is none of anyone else's business what they agree on. Why do you think it is your business or the govt business to create wage and price controls.
they do not Work!
I think I deserve a 1 million dollar mansion should the govt supply that? if not why not with your logic?
I see what you're saying but the way I see it is that if a company needs some work done, then they HAVE to hire someone. The minimum wage isn't going to make grunt work obsolete, it will just make it illegal to pay those that do grunt work less than a certain amount.
Raising the minimum wage or making a living wage doesn't seem like it could possibly take jobs off the market. Work still has to get done. Somebody has got to do it. And they should get paid a reasonable amount for doing it.
Wrong. NoOutlet when you raise the minimum wage companies hire fewer workers and they especially do not hire teen agers specifically black teens that Obama and Nadar are supposed to be trying to help . Unemployment always sky rockets on teens and people with little or no job skill when you raise the minimum wage.
The minimum wage hurts the very people that they are trying to help. Also when you raise the minimum wage it just causes inflation and lowers everyones wage and debases the dollar
i don't think you can say raising minimum wage causes inflation so matter-of-factly. There are too many economic factors involved in inflation to blame one element. There are good arguments on both sides but it's not so cut and dry. And right now there is no definitive answer.
The fact is it does. The reason is that as the lower wager earner make more money it goes up the food chain in the form of higher wages and everyone demands more and then the dollar is worth less and it serves no purpose. Because what happens is the govt starts printing more money making each dollar worth less. keep your mind open and let me teach you.
Yes and what business is it to the police if a thief decides to take your entire wallet instead of just your ID and credit cards? Apply the same principle to corporations. And don't get all uptight when someone disagrees with you. If it pisses you off go take your idealism elsewhere.
And forcing anyone into prison against their will for fighting to gain land and resources, which has been given unfairly to the rich and corporations by government, is ALSO stupid.
So, if you oppose forcing corporations to pay minimum wage, then you MUST oppose forcing individuals to show up in court if they don't want or forcing drug users to go to rehab.
That's the fact. If you don't care about individuals' causes, then the FACT is the poor will not care about your anti-wage cause.
Uhh, as a libertarian, I'd expect you to know that the out of control printing of money that isn't backed by anything is what debases the dollar and causes inflation.
Nader isn't talking about printing more money so that more can go to the poor. He's talking about having the corporations find a way to pay for the work that they need. If the corporation boards are honest, they'll note that the CEO could take a pay cut in order to pay for the higher minimum wage.
You anti-Naderites and anti-liberals are nothing but shit and evil. You are unpatriotic anti-American cowards, fighting for the WRONG side in wars. You have got NOTHING to complain about radicals or convicts in prison. Only when they have POWER, and Nader is president, will you have ANYTHING to complain about.
alansready, seriously, give it up. I've answered your question. I am not a liar and I'm not evil. All you want is a yes or no answer to a question that is not a yes or no. Yes would mean that I'm totally evil and no would mean that I agree with your Libertarian philosophy which I don't. Besides Naders goal is to create jobs so no one has to starve to death and be without health care.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
echoexist. please admit that you are just wrong about your ideas about the minimum wage. it is evil to believe in a minimum wage an d to forced some people to starve that can get that minimum. . but just because you agree with me on this issue does not mean you have to agree with all my libertarian ideas although i think you should
i will always love you because you are my brother. we are all one. please just allow me to teach you
Here's what I'll admit; I've spent for too much time trying to convince you that I don't agree with you. I do not need you to "teach" me anything I've looked at the arguments and I agree more with what Ralph Nader is doing. And having said that - I'm finished with this conversation.
If Nader would have no control whatsoever in the Fed Res, then what is the point of the fourth principle that Ron Paul had the four 3rd party candidates(including Barr) sign to?(We seek a thorough investigation, evaluation and audit of the Federal Reserve System)
Your ridiculous spinning of the situation is indicative of Bob Barr supporters in general. Whatever the result of higher minimum wage, your argument could be thrown to the bullet making industry as: "How is it morally okay to kill?"
1. You are dead WRONG. 2. dead WRONG again. The root of the problem is the current corrupt government which is supported, sponsored and brought to power by the corporations. If you have a government which is an advocate for the people that would not happen. your problem is ignorance and lack of experience about the whole world and I do not have time for you.
alansready, I understand the Free Market approach Libertarians propose. In some kind of Utopian world that is far away from where we are now, that might make sense. There are a lot of corporations who have a massive head start in that game. Right now we need a government that takes away Corporation personhood and separate them from government. We need regulation and to crack down on corporate crime. Smaller businesses need to be given a chance in this Free Market world. So today we need balance.
Having wrote my previous comment though - in response to the original poster of this thread, I don't agree all 3rd parties should unite and nominate 1 candidate. I don't agree with many things Barr has done and proposes and I'm sure Barr supporters have the same view for Nader. Diversity is good and ultimately 3rd parties will get more votes when someone is voting for a candidate that represents them. And any vote against the two party dictatorship is a vote I can respect.
my senator mitch mcconnell voted yes bailout and he has lost my VOTE here everyone else needs to do the same find out who your congressman and senators are and vote them out get a sign for who is running agianst them put it in your yard and lets vote these crooks out of office and dont forget OBAMA / MCCAIN WHO BOTH VOTED FOR IT ( VOTE THIRD PARTY)(VOTE NADER)
tvcorner, Dude, I agree, Obama or McCain will send this country down the toilet. Neither of them are qualified! Nader has more residual courage and integrity in his shit than these two Dip Shits have in their entire bodies - put together!
I'm not american but usually american politics affect the whole world so I follow. As a webmaster my advice would be that radio ads are annoying and nobody listens to them. they just refresh the page and the ad is gone. Perhaps some links on good pages that lead to interactive content in your site explaining your views to american public would be a better way to spend $250,000 but I don't know how many major websites would be willing to show any political affiliation. anyway good luck!
The campaign this year has been fantastic ! I hope people dig deep and give whatever they can. If everyone just gave what they could, $5 or $500, we could reach so many more people. Imagine ! There are folks out there who still don't even know Nader is running ! And so many people would just come alive if they knew they had the chance to vote for this outstanding hero ! Think of all the people waiting for some hope and a reason to get involved in their country again !
All right people its time to kick in to high gear. Start making signs and flyers and pasting them EVERYWHERE. Cheap bed sheets can be found at any thrift store and with a little pain make great banners. Banners that are a great size to hang...oh idk..over bridges, out skyscrapers, over TV stations...wherever there is high traffic.
Just make it honest, intelligent and thought prvoking. Most of all just get the damn word out.
I got lucky. I'm home for a long weekend, and Nader/Gonzales are in my area. I've already gotten my absentee ballot, now I'm going to his rally to seal the deal.
Wake up, America. Your choice isn't limited to the corporate sponsored parties by the corporate sponsored parties. Your vote isn't wasted just because your candidate can't win. Let's steal another election; if we keep doing it, maybe people will start to wonder why we aren't satisfied with the lesser of two evils.
Nader/Gonzalez are the only candidates who would prosecute Corporate criminals. Single Payer Health Care, U.S. Out of Iraq now! Obama and McCain are invested in keeping the Wealth at the top and keeping the poverty at the bottom. They have proved it time and time again, 24000000 for Obama 22000000 for McCain from Finance and Insurance sector Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns,AIG the same companies who are crashing they bought their way out.Nader won't take corporate bribes.we can be assured of that!
All of it helps man. You'll know you're doing something good too. Could you imagine what kind of statement that would be to get foreign donations as well?? Strong statement and I guarantee! You should donate at least a little. Cheers!
I support Ralph and have given money. HOWEVER- The Ralph Organization comes up with a "new" fund raising campaign every other day- his newsletters are one big hit for contribution after another. And where does all this money go? To corporate media ads. Well SHAZZAM!! Beyond this, he minimizes the difference between Insane McCain and Obama-- the difference is freaking huge. Hitler, Obama, or Ralph-- take your chances.
This message is for "neilslade" - what kind of ignorant message are you trying to send? All the money donated to fund Ralph Nader for President is NOT going to corporate media ads. It's going to help spread the word to those who aren't aware that we will have a choice this election 2008. What the hell are you talking about!!! Get a life, bozo breath!
in the 7os, Barr was employed by the CIA and Barr sought the Republican Party nomination for U.S. Senate in 1992. Barr was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994 as a Republican. Ralph Nader has a much more consistent history and is my first choice.
No neilslade, the difference between Obama and McCain isn't huge. They both will keep us in unaffordable and deadly war profiteering ventures for the military industrial complex, won't do anything the economy destroying NAFTA, about the unconstitutional Patriot Act or government spying on citizens, and won't do anything for the despicable pay or die health care system wherein 40 million are without health insurance and 18,000 people/yr. die. Of course congress has to be overhauled too.
Come on, man. The difference between Obama and McCain is anything but huge.
Both support health care systems that allow insurance companies to continue raping the public. Both have voted for FISA. Both have voted for The Patriot Act. Both want to continue increasing the size of the military. Both pander to illegal immigration groups.
Areas where they do disagree tend to be far less crucial than those listed, excepting a few (e.g., gun control and trade). McCain and Obama are 100% status quo.
Hey, it may sound like a lot for a bumper sticker, but remember, most of that money helps fund the "Ralph Nader for President" campaign, which is great! So by several and help get Ralph Nader elected!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just donated $10 yesturday, but I'm going to donate and squeeze some more out of my bank account today. I may not have much, but I can at least sleep piecefully tonight knowing my donations are being used wisely, especially when it comes to the future of our children in America! RALPH NADER FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Voting third party is our only hope. The Republocrats Obama/McCain should be ashamed of themselves for buying into the Bush destruction of our constitution. All third party candidates do need to form an alliance but until then, I'm voting Nader/Gonzalez.
Also, spread the word about a possibility for a real debate with ALL 6 ballot-qualified candidates!! Visit thirdpartyticket(dot)com and pledge support.
And, sign a petition to open up the debates at: opendebates(dot)org/yourrole/petition/
We also need to open the other debates. Here's a suggestion: watch?v=hEK6jKu4_w4
I was talking to someone about Ralph be blamed for Bush. 250,000 democrats in Florida voted for Bush, to Nader's 97,000 total. I was told it was still Ralph's fault. I am tired of being told to pick be tween the lesser of both evils. I am voting for Ralph as I don't like Obama or McCain.
please find out if you can get all the third party candidates (Robert Barr, Ron Paul, Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, Charles Baldwin) to form an Alliance and nominate ONE candidate for Nov 08 election. The Third Party Alliance's nominee for US presidential election in November 2008 will have a high probability of winning the majority.
I only use the internet as I can choose what to watch instead of being forced bs from corporate owned media. my favorite online TV/Radio is democracynow
if all the supporters of the candidates I mentioned pressure their candidate for an alliance it can happen. otherwise we are all going to lose (sorry but that is a sad fact)
Yes Indeed, Ralph Nader is my hope too and I believe he can and will change the current broken system and restore trust.
Nader has proven to be people's advocate through years of selfless service and has been tolerating many unfair insults and accusations from uninformed/misinformed people.
i'm tired of being told not to "throw away" my vote- the only wasted votes will be those in favor of corporate control of our country and against ourselves!
I've been following Nader for some time now. His policies are right on point with what most people want/agree with, and yet they vote to keep the status quo in power. I made that mistake 4 years ago by voting for John Kerry, when I should have voted Nader. I won't make the same mistake again.
My brother said the same thing. People I know keep telling me to "look at the numbers Ralph can't win." I tell them to actually listen to Nader and they will see that he speaks to more Americans than the two major parties. It's a shame most Americans don't know that they agree with him! It's humorous in a sad way that the man who should win by a land slide has to fight this hard just to make his views known. I can't get away from the two major parties yet I have to fight to even hear Ralph speak
Nice Job Jason! Your passion comes through loud and clear. For those who think a vote for Ralph is a waste...STOP! It's obvious the current 2 party system is not working. Ralph is EXACTLY what/who we need running the country and holding the purse strings.Ralph CAN WIN...how many Mcnut and Obamiacs actually feel passionate about their candidates? They're running scared towards the lesser of 2 evils...We don't need the lesser of 2 evils. VOTE Nader/Gonzalez and feel good about your stand! FromNH
haha, bthespoon, i know what fascism is! that's why i support and donate money to ralph nader! i was responding to the guy saying jason kafoury is wasting his time...
That's the same kind of remark opponents said of the civil rights movement members, the women's suffrage activists, the unionizes and anti-child labor organizers.
A majority of Americans want and need an aggressive solar energy program to boost our economy and clean up our country; we are disgusted by the $700 billion dollar bailout and need someone to defend our wishes; we want to exit Iraq and Afghanistan completely; et. al.
Nader stands with us, while Obama and McCain stand against us.
I'm getting nervious. I don't think that Ralph has a chance and this will be a close election. I'd hate to see McCain elected and 5% of the vote could change the election.
I can't figure out this financial mess, except to know that Clinton and Bush strongly contributed to it and I'm scared. I need bank accounts and money markets to be guarenteed.
I am unable to give very much but I did give because Ralph Nader is truly a hero to The American People. I will be giving 5 dollars again today. I wish it were more.
A recession whats coming no matter what, what that "bailout" does is put them into a golden boat because they will be purchasing REAL assets with OUR money for their cronies benefit while the economy goes through its downward spiral all the while they tell us they got it under control.
Vote for peace. Vote to restore democracy to the U.S. Vote for a better future for your children. Vote for liberty and justice for all. Vote Nader/Gonzalez '08.

Some people actually can change i know because i am one of the4m. Barr has really changed and he looks at these policys differently. you have no evidence to believe that Bob Barr has not really changed his idea. After all dont some of us learn when we make mistakes and get older.

Nader4President 3 years ago
this country is taking a radical shift toward bigger govt and it scares me. govt is not the the solution it is the problem . all problems created today are because of bad govt policies and incentives. The free market is perfect if left alone and people do not commit force, theft or fraud. the problem is there has been way to much force ie community reinvestment act. fraud: ie no full disclosure on mortgages, theft: ie. naked short selling and credit default swaps . ask questions please?
alansready 3 years ago
you still haven't answered my question.

Nader is the only candidate I trust in '08.

hugh . i would never vote for anyone that wants wage and price controls like Nadar . I think that the minimum wage is the second worst policy that a govt can engage in. If you have a minimum wage you are in effect saying that it is illegal to work if no one will employ you at that minimum wage.
alansready 3 years ago
alansready, Ralph Nader is not for a minimum wage, he is for a "living wage" he is for workers rights. That's Ralph Nader.
echoexist 3 years ago 5
i must fight with everyone on this board about nadar because of the minimum wage or the code word living wage. I have told you i respect nadar but i strongly protest this idea that the govt should be setting wages.
I cant make this more clear this is the second worst thing any govt can do next to starting wars and killing people. Doesnt everyone understand that if you set some arbitrary wage that some people will not be able to find work at that wage and will be forced to starve
alansready 3 years ago
Nader suggests a $10 per hour living wage. this is going to help the struggling people. Get your facts straight.
all1soul 3 years ago
well alllsoul what happens if no one will hire a person that needs a job at 10 dollars an hour? But they would hire that person at 8 dollars an hour. should we let that potential worker starve to death ? Please answer

alan
alansready 3 years ago
Or should we pay people chump change for hard labor that won't feed their families let alone provide them enough for health care, etc. People have to make enough money to survive. This is the reasoning behind Nader's Living Wage. There are going to be large corporations who abuse the system. Think of Wal Mart. So if what you are implying is that there will be less jobs because of a Living Wage. Then back it up. To me it would make sense that the economy grows when people have money to spend.
echoexist 3 years ago
"echoexist" you refuse to answer my question. If you set the minimum wage at 10 dollars an hour and no one will pay me that wage but there is some business that agrees to pay me 9 dollars an hour are you going to refuse me that job ? ANSWER!!!!
alansready 3 years ago
It's a hypothetical question. Chances are you won't have to accept a lower wage if companies are required to pay a minimum amount. We live in that world today with the current minimum wage, do we not? The problem is the minimum wage is too low and people can't afford to live. The other problem is that you have companies sending jobs overseas and paying pennies for foreign labor. Those are two problems that need a remedy. Both of which will make for a stronger economy here.
echoexist 3 years ago
you do not want to have an intelligent debate. you are just plain wrong and it is not moral or ethical to keep someone from getting a job because you deem it is too little. . Why is it yours or the govt business? please take a course in logic. you really are pissing me off.
alansready 3 years ago
now answer my question.
should we pay people chump change for hard labor that won't feed their families let alone provide them enough for health care?
echoexist 3 years ago
" now answer my question.
should we pay people chump change for hard labor that won't feed their families let alone provide them enough for health care? "
businesses and employers should agree on a price and it is none of anyone else's business what they agree on. Why do you think it is your business or the govt business to create wage and price controls.
they do not Work!
I think I deserve a 1 million dollar mansion should the govt supply that? if not why not with your logic?
alansready 3 years ago
I see what you're saying but the way I see it is that if a company needs some work done, then they HAVE to hire someone. The minimum wage isn't going to make grunt work obsolete, it will just make it illegal to pay those that do grunt work less than a certain amount.
Raising the minimum wage or making a living wage doesn't seem like it could possibly take jobs off the market. Work still has to get done. Somebody has got to do it. And they should get paid a reasonable amount for doing it.
No0utlet 3 years ago
Also when you raise the minimum wage it just causes inflation and lowers everyones wage and debases the dollar
alansready 3 years ago
i don't think you can say raising minimum wage causes inflation so matter-of-factly. There are too many economic factors involved in inflation to blame one element. There are good arguments on both sides but it's not so cut and dry. And right now there is no definitive answer.
echoexist 3 years ago
echoexist :
The fact is it does. The reason is that as the lower wager earner make more money it goes up the food chain in the form of higher wages and everyone demands more and then the dollar is worth less and it serves no purpose. Because what happens is the govt starts printing more money making each dollar worth less. keep your mind open and let me teach you.
the minimum wage is idiotic and Not moral.
alansready 3 years ago
Yes and what business is it to the police if a thief decides to take your entire wallet instead of just your ID and credit cards? Apply the same principle to corporations. And don't get all uptight when someone disagrees with you. If it pisses you off go take your idealism elsewhere.
echoexist 3 years ago
And forcing anyone into prison against their will for fighting to gain land and resources, which has been given unfairly to the rich and corporations by government, is ALSO stupid.
So, if you oppose forcing corporations to pay minimum wage, then you MUST oppose forcing individuals to show up in court if they don't want or forcing drug users to go to rehab.
That's the fact. If you don't care about individuals' causes, then the FACT is the poor will not care about your anti-wage cause.
j97hou6 3 years ago
you have me confused with someone else i am a libertarian and the most important thing to me is freedom
freedom to use drugs is fine with me
alansready 3 years ago
Uhh, as a libertarian, I'd expect you to know that the out of control printing of money that isn't backed by anything is what debases the dollar and causes inflation.
Nader isn't talking about printing more money so that more can go to the poor. He's talking about having the corporations find a way to pay for the work that they need. If the corporation boards are honest, they'll note that the CEO could take a pay cut in order to pay for the higher minimum wage.

Whatever the result of higher minimum wage, your argument could be thrown to the bullet making industry as: "How is it morally okay to kill?"

alansready 3 years ago
Nader4President 3 years ago 3
alansready, I understand the Free Market approach Libertarians propose. So today we need balance.
echoexist 3 years ago 3
Having wrote my previous comment though - in response to the original poster of this thread, I don't agree all 3rd parties should unite and nominate 1 candidate. I don't agree with many things Barr has done and proposes and I'm sure Barr supporters have the same view for Nader. Diversity is good and ultimately 3rd parties will get more votes when someone is voting for a candidate that represents them. And any vote against the two party dictatorship is a vote I can respect.

Just make it honest, intelligent and thought prvoking. Most of all just get the damn word out.

ps. i am not the one who gave you the thumb down
Nader4President 3 years ago 3
also forgot to add that n 2002 Barr voted for the Iraq Resolution, that is another minus in my view
Nader4President 3 years ago 4
No neilslade, the difference between Obama and McCain isn't huge. They both will keep us in unaffordable and deadly war profiteering ventures for the military industrial complex, won't do anything the economy destroying NAFTA, about the unconstitutional Patriot Act or government spying on citizens, and won't do anything for the despicable pay or die health care system wherein 40 million are without health insurance and 18,000 people/yr. die. Of course congress has to be overhauled too.
arcturus33333 3 years ago 3
Come on, man. The difference between Obama and McCain is anything but huge.
Both support health care systems that allow insurance companies to continue raping the public. Both have voted for FISA. Both have voted for The Patriot Act. Both want to continue increasing the size of the military. Both pander to illegal immigration groups.
Areas where they do disagree tend to be far less crucial than those listed, excepting a few (e.g., gun control and trade). McCain and Obama are 100% status quo.

My brother said the same thing. People I know keep telling me to "look at the numbers Ralph can't win." Just because you think supporting your candidate is a waste of time doesn't mean the rest of the people do.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
That's the problem. It is sad they don't realize they are wasting their time.

Wow you really are a stupid idiot aren't you.

Please. Don't be a twit.
You're hurting the decency of other twits out there.

And how does that make sense?

I'm getting nervious. I don't think that Ralph has a chance and this will be a close election. I'd hate to see McCain elected and 5% of the vote could change the election.
I can't figure out this financial mess, except to know that Clinton and Bush strongly contributed to it and I'm scared. I need bank accounts and money markets to be guarenteed.

A recession whats coming no matter what, what that "bailout" does is put them into a golden boat because they will be purchasing REAL assets with OUR money for their cronies benefit while the economy goes through its downward spiral all the while they tell us they got it under control.
