I'd love to see his first match ever in professional wrestling with "Wild" Bill Ash. Do you have that match from your film archives UniversalWrestling?
Roberts' tights in this era of his career before WWF were totally innovative, no one wore the Karate style baggier pants, I think it would've been cool with the same tights w/ Snake designs on them during his WWF run. IMO, Jake "The Snake" Roberts = Wrestling Legend.
@JeffTheFutureJaros I've always thought the same thing. I think those kinds of pants with a "snake" motif would have looked cool. Kind of like the pants on Jimmy Page's "Dragon" suit.
One of the greatest wrestling minds to grace a ring. He inspired both Raven and Randy Orton. They are trying their hardest with Randy to make him Jake lite with the character and the RKO/DDT comparisons but as good as Randy is,Jake made you believe he is one evil SOB. I wish he could get his life together. He has so much to offer the business. Vince McMahon even said if Jake could get his life straight he would be welcomed back with open arms.
Jake hit Georgia late '83. Jack Brisco asked him to be the booker in Georgia. Jake created the"legion of Doom." The Road Warriors, The Spoiler, Jake Roberts were the "Legion of Doom", managed by Ellering. Jake had a tremendous feud with Ronnie Garvin, over the TV title. Very violent. I remember some good battles on TV for the belt.
This truly one of the best wrestling videos on a wrestler(outside of the great Joel Watts) that I have ever seen. It truly describes Jake to a DDT. I know that was aweful:)

@ltrott3 Right, but Graham has a Karate gimmick to go along w/ why he was wearing them, Snake just wore them.

is that where he became a heel?
phi1166 2 years ago
he became a heel in Florida, with Kevin Sullivan. This footage is after he left Florida. He was managed by Paul Jones in the Mid Atlantic

what was the timeline on that? I know he was managed by Paul Ellering in Georgia which was around '84.

I remember this too. Didn't know Jake created the Legion of Doom. You're SO right about the feud would Ronnie being brutal.
