  • to you of the 199thLIB... glad you all followed me home....

  • Good times, good times especially at FOB "Hercules"/2nd Battalion Mar Div. Who remembers those damn bamboo boobie traps? Annoying motherfuckers

  • totally awesome. and amen republicnomad.

  • We use to play this in the patrol car in Da South Bronx. It looked like Nam from some of the Officers i worked with , Burnt out, and Burnt out.

    Hammer

  • I was young and did not understand this war but I want to thank all who served I had the great honor of seeing the vietnam memorial ( the traveling one) and it just tore through my heart of all the lives that were lost and all the lives that were changed because of it..Thank you All for your great service. I am sorry that I was not older so I could have thanked you then.

  • Yeah, I can remember singing this song many times... 68-69 Ton Son Nhut

  • The most shameful war in U.S., even worse than Iraq.

  • @danbeatless If you weren't there you have no idea... The war was right and the way we ran away from it was shameful... Kissinger gave everything back we fought for and then we deserted the Viet Namese!

  • @danbeatless Nothing was shamefull about trying to protect South Vietnam from A communist take over,

From 1957 to 1973, the National Liberation Front assassinated 36,725 South Vietnamese and abducted another 58,499.

So in short, you are an ignorant piece of shit and if people like you controlled the government we would have never had stopped the Germans,Communists or Dictators in the middle east.

  • @RepublicNomad: This war lacked a moral high ground, the South Vietnamese security apparatus and US special forces also killed and abducted unarmed civilians (both the North and South respectively probably killed hundreds of thousands using such strategies). Calling someone an "ignorant piece of shit" is an illogical ad hominem attack that does nothing to rationally undermine their position.

  • @ccmm53095 You know why?

  • @RepublicNomad: Know why about what specifically? Please specify.

  • @ccmm53095 Fuck you that's why

    <3

  • @danbeatless blame politics my friend.... All they ever want to do is play games and not get the job done.

  • And now there are mc donalds, coca cola, and so on. Viet-Nam 1967-68, and we are at it again, we just dont learn,

  • LOL,this song reminds me of a year and a half of infantry crap in Iraq, all though I got badly wounded before my time was up. Just funny in a morbid way I suppose.

  • We sang this song often while drinking beers at our Seabees enlisted men's club just north of Marble Mountain, Danang 1967-1968.

  • I would have fought and died in Vietnam for the sake of beating those Commi Bastards! To the Viet Vets...heres to you!

  • @oporciuncula you don't know what you are talking about young man.

  • @bilgewater79 Yes I know what i am talking about!. I would have fought and died for my country. I am a patriot and dont want those commi bastards taking over the world!

  • Bird is a word.

  • God bless the VietNam 'drafted soldiers'.

  • Thanks to ALL of our Vets! God Bless!!!

  • fuck you communist pigs !!!!yankees comunnist lovers, liberals piece of crap, flower childs with a stinking cunt

  • than

we call our selves humans but what makes us different from jellyfish?

  • This song always brings up memories both good and bad, having been in Viet Nam during 68-70 with the 101st near Phi Bai and Hue. Wondered at times why we were there and why the lose of life was worth it. Has made me respect the fact that we have the freedoms in this country that we have. And that Freedom is not free, has to be fought for With all the respect to all that have served and a huge THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice.

  • elpilotoazul Thank you for your support. BillyndGrim prove that anyone can make stupid comments. That writer was probably not even born when the Vietnam war was going on.

  • Does anybody remember the show Tour Of Duty?

  • hey BillyandGrim-it might be good for population control unless it was your brother who didn't make it back alive. War is the nature of the animal side of man, not the spiritual side. There are population control measures available if that's your problem; it's called birth control. Until man puts his spiritual side ahead of his desire for things, we will have war, and it's not worth fighting for.

  • @ndnslady49 You are debating an idiot, and most likely, an idiot who was never in the military. I have read his remark several times now, and I'm amazed that someone's head could be so hollow. It's a noble gesture on your part to try to impart some sense to him, but I'm afraid it's a futile effort. He's just plain dumb and insensitive to say something so foolish.

  • bomb the gooks

  • im the 13000th view awsome

  • Such a waste of life whats war good for absolutely nothing!

  • @fightbackordie its good for population control, and among other things like revealing the truth about how important freedoms are, you need to understand even though you will refuse to, war is the nature of the human race and the universe, animals wage war as well, without war we are glorified rabbits without anti population measures, only way you get rid of war is if you temporarily wipe out all sentient life in existence anything short of that isn't going to do anything,

  • @fightbackordie We humans have an innate straight to the core need for war can't get much simpler then that

  • Bien Hoa 70-71 DaNang 72-73 this is the song that ALL soldiers end up singing with when they hear it. memories of 40 years ago can come back in a flash. it's too bad that so many take our freedoms for granted when so many others had to sacrifice so much for us to enjoy them.

  • @gumbysheetz

Was never in da'Nam but was in Cambodia, 73 and Fall of Siagon 75. Semper Fi bro....I remember this song WELL! LMAOOO!!!

  • @gumbysheetz People do take our freedoms for granted. Regardless of the battles and whether we agree with them or not, people MUST remember and appreciate those (I am assuming you are one of them) who did what the they had to do when duty called. After all, some of us signed up to serve our country for our freedom or someone elses, anytime anywhere.

Some of us didn't have a war to fight when we were in, yet feel the guilt now that were long out and onto our lives.

    My respect to you.

  • @gumbysheetz Your uh, your not trying to compare the Vietnam war to gaining the WORLD freedom are you? No definitely not... because that would be utter bullshit. War in general for the right cause maybe...

  • @gumbysheetz I feel that now with Operation Enduring Freedom coming up on 10 years! After the towers fell we were sent right away to begin OEF. Operation Anaconda almost ended up like another Black Hawk Down but we were there and opened a can fast and swift. I served on the Stennis (CVN-74) for both theaters OEF/OIF Now they are distant memories. -ABE2 (AW) USN

  • @gumbysheetz AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
