Oh my God. I love this, thank you so much! I'm holding my tears the entire time watching this but when Kenshin cried at 4:48, I really cried too. They really really both love each other so so much. The manga ends differently to the Reflections OVA, I don't recall Kenshin ever requesting that Kaoru call him Shinta in the manga.

Try reading the ending of the manga at onemanga..com, you will be more satisfied with the way the series ends.

No, it kinda is in running with traditional Japanese culture of the time. In the manga and anime, you see how much a simple touch means to Kaoru or Kenshin.

This is because Japanese culture is rather different to western culture in the ways that they show affection.

A touch of skin would be interpreted so much more affectionately than it would be in western cultures.

Thats why I love this manga so much, it has so much integrity and respect for Japanese culture at the time of the Meiji era.
