At The Mountains of Madness is quite possibly my favorite story of all time! This is a wonderfully done video, thanks for sharing it with everyone. Also, I can't wait for the the movie adaptation of ATMOM. Thumbs up & favorite.
Interesting use of what looks like genuine archival footage. Having lived and worked in the real Antarctica for a few years, and knowing somethings about the real history of the place, this trailer has captured much of the real flavor, Some of he landscape images and maybe the old Foker Tri-motor with skiis looks like it could have been from Byrd's expedition in 1929. The story of course is the thing...and this has a timelessness to it.
There is no such thing as elder gods, only outer ones and old things, long before your imagination was born, they were the rulers of this earth we think ours, and from eons and spaces unknown to our knowledge they were, are, and will be again. No one will ever know, for they will come back again, and our feeble civilization is only a midge at their glorious return.
I read it( spanish and something left me frightened and pensive; who were the anonym forces that used to maul the ancient ones before any other war they had.
Theyre actually making a movie out of this?!!@?! holy fuck!?@!?! look it up its supposed to come out in 2010!! and Guillermo Del Toros gonna direct so you know it wont suck
This was fantastic, and the creators of this video rightly deserve praise. However, as a fan of the story, the impact was diminshed for me by the suggestion that the Old Ones found looked like Cthulhu. They instead have star-shaped heads and look quite different.
uh oh...didn't mention that they found all that extensive history in the Old One's city...watch out...the ACLU will be filing a lawsuit on behalf of the Old Ones!
I dunno, remember in the story the characters supplemented their accound with drawings of what they saw once their film went out. It could work this way.
But the trailer doesn't mention that they found all that extensive history in the Old Ones' city.
Very cool. Great choice of music - David Arnold's score from Stargate.

Really, I'd like to see a version without the additional weird modern art standing for the "horrors" - that was unnecessary, and reduced impact.
