  • Why even bother making this episode if they fuck up the historical accuracy of the ending? If anything, the dude at the end would have just thrown himself upon his sword having been disgraced in his defeat.

  • @inamonianim

It was meant to mirror Caesar's death. This was supposed to be the finale to the 2nd season, before being cancelled screwed that all up.

  • The awkward moment when a historical movie is historically inaccurate

  • Whats the name of this movie? "Battle of Philippi"?

  • @xXBalagoreXx It's HBO's ''Rome'',fucking GREAT series.

  • well i gotta say back then joining the legion was almost a lifetime commitment, fifteen years of service, harsh penaltis for breaking order, those men who ran would have been crucified by roman military doctrine

  • @tryhard117

I think the punishment was decimation. The members of the cowardly legion drew lots to see who got the honor of beheading. 1 out of every 10 lots was for execution. I think they drew by file or century (or cohort?). Not a fun afternoon in that legion.

  • THEY NEED TO MAKE A ROME TOTAL WAR 2!!!

  • come at me bro moment: 8:00

  • Uhm...You'll lose someday :P

  • the crotch stab hurt.. ME!!! >:|

  • Good quality

  • when does this game come out ?

  • its been out for like 7 years xDD

  • HBO 's Rome

  • Yes Rome from HBO season 2

  • Fitting end to the backstabbing traitor.

  • at 2:35 watch closely at some of the soilders, theyre not doing anything but bashing shield or such

  • "Over 100,000 Romans were harmed in the making of this movie" lol

  • Awesome video. i fucking love spartans :D

  • @pawnografee FAIL

  • Yea the centurion got the first stab on brutus

  • One second they're fighting in good Roman order, the next second they're fighting in a Braveheart mosh pit: 2:35

And what's with all of the flags? As far as I know they used standards, not flags.

  • @eXcommunicate1979 They got the flags and what not wrong, though sometimes battles would turn out in giant most pits like that, though not often with Roma.

  • @eXcommunicate1979 i think during those times flags were used to communicate orders and such throughout the ranks but idek for sure sooooo...yeah

  • @Fatmankillzu

They used trumpets to give commands. Also, each century, cohort, and legion had their own standards (kind of like flags, but not really) which the men followed. :)

  • @eXcommunicate1979 i see! thank you for the info! =D

  • @Fatmankillzu

No problem. Google-Image "Roman standard" to see some good examples of what they carried into battle. :)

  • this movie doesnt look bad, what is it?

  • @IMnotFATbutUare hbo series "Rome"

  • If they are wearing the same uniform, how can your tell who is who?

  • What, roman against roman?

  • @corollatime Yes, the civil war which broke out after Julius Caesar was assassinated by the two generals; Brutus and Cassius, versus Mark Antony and Caesar's great-nephew; Octavian, who later became Augustus the first Roman Emperor.

  • @black00dice no ur stupid the cival war started becuz of the black poeple. linkin freed them. get ur facts right

  • @tolkien1997 Ok Jonathan

  • @tolkien1997 Not the American civil war, the Roman civil war

  • @black00dice Damn it, I tried sounding as stupid as possible to try to get you to rage on me. Oh well, didn't work. Fail trolling.

  • Marcus antonius (y)

  • I used to be an adventurer like you, but then I took an arrow to the face.

Didn't like my line of work anymore, so I became a plumber .-.

  • @sergeantassassin2

Why do all of you little fags say the same shit? enough with the arrow to the fucking X jokes!!!!!!!!! I read that same fucking stupid joke on almost every vid I view. Stop being a noobcake.

  • @Kinjoson Because they're thumbs up whores

  • Haha. Funny how today we think of theese old "ancient" armies as wimps and people always go "Oh if I was there, I would be strong and kill everyone with my sword and gun" Back then. This warfare was absolute strategy, and horrifying. If I was in that Testudo formation at 4:30, I would have been scared shitless.

  • @longsolid9 Who in the right mind says stupid things like that?

  • how did it break up from 1:43 to 2:35 ?

  • WHAT A BATTLE. "Advaaaaannnce"

  • Yea these scenes are from Rome the TV show on HBO it is canceled but a FUCKING GREAT TV SERIES

  • chuk norris can win that army...

  • in ending the poor

  • OK That's epic!

  • What mod is this?!

  • @MyLittleMartin It is not a mod. This is a battle from HBOs Rome. If u are being sarcastic, the I lol'd ;)

  • @Akabari100 I am ^_^ I have watched nearly all the Rome documentaries.

  • @MyLittleMartin RealMod v2.6

  • @DeviousPsy Ohmehgawd! I nedz tuh ply dis!

  • @MyLittleMartin its called Rome HBO series....

  • @TheTennesseeFred Yea, i know -.- I already posted i was joking, and you dont need to post the name of something i have watched already.

  • @MyLittleMartin that wasn't a mod it was a seen from HBO's rome

  • @xxDrGrinchxx Dont you think i was being sarcastic?

  • i ended up fingering my ass.

  • Someone educate me here. So how could the two Roman sides tell each other apart once the battle started. Was it just a random slaughter?

  • @oasnap I guess the only thing you could do is keep the enemy in front of you.

  • @oasnap No men on one side held eachothers backplate armor, so they knew who was who.

  • @oasnap they had different shields

  • @oasnap not all the legions looked alike. legions in the north didnt wear what legions in the south or east. u could tell

  • lol that roman battle was horrible tose roman idiot could have used ,uban cohorts, parteioran calvalry, and archer auxlia gay gay roman empire

  • brutus totally had this one coming. He killed caesar like how he was killed. Karma is a bitch

  • Troy it's not a movie. Troy it is an american teen love story.

  • what is the film called

  • @adam200098 HBO season 1 series "Rome"

  • @adam200098 HBO series called Rome. its really good they have like 2 seasons. it does have alot of nudity in it though :P this episode is close to the end of season 2

  • titus pollo

  • Awesome!!!! One of the best shows ever...."ROME"!

  • How come all the shows about ancient histroy the 'good' guys have english accents.

  • Rome the best warrior never end the war they will fight to the dead

  • 8:39-9:00

    Welcome to Detroit

  • Its a real shame that they did not show the pila storm that Roman armies used before they closed with the enemy - the CGI effects in HBO's Rome where not bad so I hope if they even take up another part of Roman history they include this - Marian reforms era of the Rupublic would make a good prequel as the Romans faced their two Greatest threats - defeats & Victory at the hands of the Cimbri (Nordic-Celtic people) & the sadistic evil Carthagains ( Hannible) the Republic adapted better than Empire

  • what is the start music?

  • @zet17000 the opening of rome (this serie)

  • @ramen3 Brutus and Cassius lost the battle, afterwards the roman empire was divided in three: Octavian was to take Spain, Gaul, & Italy; Antony was to take the Easter provinces Judea, Asia minor & Greek peninsula; and Lepidus was to take Africa

  • 3:55 NO FUCKING WAY, left side of the screen arrow to the knee.

  • Actually Octavian and Antony were allies in this battle, it's against Brutus and Cassius who were responsible for Julius Caesar's assassination

  • @Tony87Car Which side lost?

  • Romans vs Romans?

  • @remen3 the battle of phillipi occured during the Roman civil war and it was between Augustus(Octavion) and Mark Antony

  • @juzdamkrazy1 Wrong. Augustus and Antony were allied against Brutus and Cassius after a brief dispute between the prior two.

  • @johnnylr sorry, i got mixed up with the battle of mutina

  • @juzdamkrazy1 Fair.

  • @dresendezz It's not a movie. It's more of a drama. There are two series and this battle takes place in the second one. Pretty sure this is the only battle [on this scale] shown, but it's still an exceptional series. I'd recommend looking it up. HBO's Rome.

  • over 100,000 roman soldiers where harmed (killed) during this war

  • 1 guy vs everyone

  • Cassius is dead bro :(

  • @dresendezz oh i see haha

  • Comment removed

  • what it is film

  • I just love the graphics, I mean just look at how realistic it is!!!

  • @dresendezz No it is a joke. The name of the game is Rome: Total War, and he added in a scene from some movie, then at the end added in a victory screen from the game.

  • you lost many battles in this game... you want to add a link with some of ur defeats lier...? ;)

  • What I should of said was Brutus' army was full of hired gladiadors, and Marc Antiny (Julius Caesar's cousin) Had the Roman Army.

  • wtf is this? i thought this was a pc game. where is this footage from? did they make it for the game or so,ething?

  • @Spridium1Jono Its footage from 'Rome'. It was a BBC/HBO drama Series a few years ago set between rome's transition from republic to empire. It's a brilliant series and pretty good for gaining some basic knowlege of that time.

  • this is a really good mod!

  • I spent 9 hours trying find this game in a damn store and still trying!

  • @iInCarnusLite direct2drive or gamefly have it,

  • @iInCarnusLite Go to ebay dude... you can buy it for 8 dollars...

  • @iInCarnusLite Torrent it, it's like £3 or £4 ($2 or $3), Activision and Creative Assembly won't be losing much from you.

  • Why are the Romans always British lol.

  • @sharklord because North American audiences, Americans in particular can't really differentiate between different accents. So the most exotic accent you need is a British one, which also happens to be the easiest for North American audiences to understand without subtitles.

  • @NinjaManNBK Ah okay.

  • @sharklord LOL i know right!

  • @sharklord Because Rome is an evil empire. Evil empires have a long history of being british. ;)

  • @Koalaheikki To the American public, yes, yes they do. Any film set in the classical period generally involves actors with, or putting on, English accents because it conveys a sort of old fashioned, philosophical aura of the time. Try Troy or Gladiator, same principle.

  • @johnnylr Why exactly do you believe English accents to be inherent with philosophy and archaic time periods? That doesn't make sense.

This scene was pretty terrible. Unnecessary slow motion, pseudo-dramatic music and inappropriate accents. I'd much prefer authentic accents that reflect Roman imperial culture as opposed to something universally acceptable.

  • @CrookedSmirk Don't ask me. They have English accents because that is what the US audience is deemed to think is relatable. Why else do you think they have those voices? It is what will sell the most. Not that I ever stated that I felt it was a good thing, it's just fact.

  • What mod is this?

  • @Vuldemurt Christ, it's a TV series.

  • @johnnylr No shit

  • @Vuldemurt I see.

  • damn I always wonder how they differentiate which one is the ally and the foe... They have the exact same uniforms!

  • TESTUUUUUDOOOOO!!!! 4:25

  • xD clear victory lol

  • Retard

  • 8:43 cmon every1 stab him its kinda fun

  • what for a movie is this ?

  • 4:34 I used to be a roman soldier like you, but then i took and arrow in the face.

  • The Dude that got hit in the Cheek has gotta Suck lol

  • The Romans almost always exchanged Pila before closing in with their gladi and scutums...

  • @DukeOfTennessee117 *scrotums.

  • @Yahooblue42 That is funny you immature moron....

  • @DukeOfTennessee117 ahahahah sorry... but I do agree with you - they would probably exchange pila to eliminate some of those huge shields xD

  • @DukeOfTennessee117 Actually, the guy at 1:54 gets hit in the face by a Pillum.

It doesn't seem like it thanks to the editing, but if you pause during that moment you can see it.

  • Roman's vs Roman's?

  • @death153278 Yes. Its a battle during the Roman Civil War.

  • @jayjay042298456 My favorite was the battle of pharsaulus

  • @DukeOfTennessee117 Wait wasn't the battle of Pharsalus part of Caesar's Civil War, and this, the battle of Philippi part of the Liberator's Civil War? Or am I wrong?

  • @black00dice The battle of philippi was the final battle in the wars of the second triumvirate ,between the forces of octavion and mark antony and ceaser's assasins (Brutus and cassius)

  • @jayjay042298456 Sure as hell doesn't look like one... (I mean seriously... those guys are wearing plastic-optic weapons and outfits and above all, flags... it's ridiculous.)

  • it seems we got trolled

  • Marc Antiny's army was full of hired gladiaders. The other army led by Julius Caesars cousin (witch I frogoten), was the Roman army.

  • what tv series is this?? HBO's?

  • good grahpics

  • please tell me, what is the name of this game

  • @frenci8 You got to be kidding me?

  • I can't get online on my RTW its so annoying

  • das Motto der Zeit: Willst du nicht mein Bruder sein, schlag ich dir den Schädel ein.

  • this aint a carry on film harrylargecockes haha?}

  • The only fault in the series and the video too that Antonius and Octavianus defeated Cassius and Brutus not at the same time, there were days between the battles
