  • still get goosebumps when Tony wraps up

"I left me heart in San Francisco"...WOW, and Andy's voice is smooth as butter! Love these guys!

  • "You thought I was going to do the other one" - Tony LOOOOOOL

  • Did Lady Gaga do a duet with Tony Bennet?

  • @sheltv100 yes it was terrible! She has no business performing with a legend like Tony Bennett. She has a mediocre voice, no class and cannot express emotion through song. THIS is a duet, that was a publicity stunt

  • wow this is great music! I love Tony Bennett. never heard Andy William till now but he is great too! when was that recorded? anybody?

  • How did they mic these shows? no signs of radio mics and the quality is great. Suppose there is a big stage mic on a pole or something above their heads ?

  • @grindlbebe Is there a place to email suggestions to the Emmys or the Grammys because we need to make this happen while both of them are still around

  • My God, picture this: They play this clip to start the Emmys, so as to show perfection to those way too young to remember. Then they bring out Tony and Andy to sing a duet they are comfortable with, not exactly this, but with memories. Can you imagine the reaction? Does the house coming down around them even begin to describe it?

  • TONY BENNETT AND ANDY WILLIAMS TODATHER!!! OMG I'm in FREAKING HEAVEN!!!!

  • @spiritfired You got it! the two best male voices of the early 60s!

  • I saw Andy live in 1983, still hoping to get to see Tony, amazing these two greats are still performing in there 80's. The last of the greats

  • great playlist. bravo!

  • Superb kings of cool would love to have seen them live, my brother has seen Tony live an we both got to see Old Blue Eyes

  • They're stage presence and body language is so opposite, Andy is so cool and charismatic and Tony is awkward and tense in a charming way. Both voices are spot on and blend beautifully.

My favourite duet ever I dare say.

  • 100% + 100% = 100%

they are perfectly blending! and I'm in love with the play button because of them...

  • Where can I find the Lyrics?

  • This TV clip was edited.

  • .....and to think that these two legends are in their 80's and STILL performing.

No miming, no autotuning, just pure tallent.

  • Now Everybody relegates Andy to some Branson cheese factory-but once upon a time-He was as good as ANYONE.

  • what was supposed to be the other city?

  • @ squirllyburt when was the welsh shouter made a singer??? the rest, good call!!

  • I just realized something.....almost all...ALL...of the greats who blessed us with their style and voices from yesteryear where in fact quite small men. Andy, Tony, Frank S., Bing, Tom Jones....all quite short men. Just found that interesting.

  • NOW THATS WHAT I CALL SINGING!

  • pure quality......

  • next fallout game music

  • Who say andy williams isnt a natural-born singer, HE IS..!! and he has the most incredible technical too.. He strated sing since he was a little boy, he made public performance when he was 8, hah some of you know nothing!! Almost of his clans in Iowa had beautiful voices!! His voice was sent from heaven!!

  • my heart melts every time i hear Andy sing

  • @followingbreadcrumbs Andy is a "ONE OF A KIND."

  • @followingbreadcrumbs mine too! and i'm a 100% heterosexual male! haha

  • @PioDinata haha :-)

  • Wow.. when people SANG and did not Sing-Shout!

  • @filmmekker are you being serious? Or maybe you're a little bored?

  • Who KidRock?

  • At about 2:13 does anyone know what TB means by "where all the residuals are"? TIA for any clues :-)

  • @okehpete He had a big hit with I Left my Heart in San Fransisco, from which he probably got a lot of money in residuals from.

  • @okehpete

Yes, Tony Bennett sang I left my Heart in San Francisco, and he jokes that every time its sung, he gets a residual payment for it. That wouldn't be true though unless he wrote the song. Since he didn't only the songwriters would receive a payment.

  • If you don't get goosebumps when you hear these two awesome voices, something is wrong. It just doesn't get any better; pure talent, timeless.

  • I met Mr. Bennett personally and shook his hand once in Mission Viejo, Ca. about fourteen years ago while he promoting his sensational art work, he said he had just learned to drive a car not too long ago because he had never needed to on account of taking the subway for many years.I looked forward to the Andy Williams' Christmas Specials for so many years as a kid and I hope these two live forever because I can't imagine this world without them.

  • @Soundexpert100 I understand that you shared all of your cocaine with "TB" and that you gave him a blowjob as well?

  • ... the difference between singing and (today's very vulgar and inartistic) shouting ..,

  • @craigenputtock not shouting dude, it's more like noises

  • Thank God we still have these two around today. There's still hope for the universe.

  • 5 people wouldn't know talent if it came up and smacked their ignorant asses.

  • I know that this is only part of a bigger performance. Does anyone know where I can get the entire act? I sure would love to see it.

  • These guys are so talented! This is all live!

  • I'd like to get drunk with these guy's, stunning performance from real men.

  • Pure class!

  • The two best male vocalists of the 20th century at a historic 1965 "summit' while both were at the top of their games! Pay attention young people, especially 20 somethings and down, you are lucky You Tube has this classic clip preserved for posterity, you are likely not to be graced with such pure talent and classic style anytime in the foreseeable future given the atmosphere of current music standards.

  • @TheEldoradoKid kids today have different standards and indeed different lives and dreams than the folks in 1965. BTW Andy Williams was "hippie" music to my granddad.

  • I dare lady gaga or any other of today's singers to sing something as beautiful as this. This is truly art.

  • @asharifi6 There are plenty of people today who simply can't relate to this simplistic white-bread music. There are so many folks on this page getting all crotchety about the music styles of today. It just shows their crotchetyness and their Geritol mentalities, that's all.

  • Where are the new singers that can sing like these guys?

  • does it get any better than these two super talents?

  • Ahh, Mob music, I love it.. Too bad someone didn't put a bullet in the brains of the mobsters. Tony you so deserved it!!!!!

  • o@Sawdring ---have ye evidence? OR ARE YOU MAKING A BLANKET RACIAL SLUR ON ITALIAN AMERICANS?

  • @gabsylv Just a BLANKET RACIAL SLUR. There is no evidence the music business was ever controlled by organized crime.

  • what a plaisir

  • Again I say.. absolute brilliance from the two boys!

  • These guys are just TOO COOL! Bring Back those COOL CAT CROONERS!!!

  • Two all time greats!

  • Wonderful voices!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • what's amazing is that this wasn't even rehearsed. AMAZING!

  • Tony looks so much better here than he does in the Dean Martin duet. He looks heavier and heathier and he's not been shot from a high angle like some kind of lab specimen.

  • Absolute class! Everytime. I'm playing it again

  • I can't understand only one thing: who could dislike a video like this?? (there are 5 dislikes)

  • My generation has been starved of this. Pure class in a glass !!!

  • Class !!!

  • You are correct SteveFallon1. There is nothing remotely of this quality around today.

Both these guys are still performing too. It would be neat if they would get together.

  • like butter love those voices

  • 0:41 autotune lol

  • i wonder what kind of people dislike this talent

  • Fabulous fabulous. What a brilliant pair of singers/perfromers/entertainers.Two of the best along with Sammy Davis.

Tony Tony Tony thank you so very very much for the wonderful listening. OK You too Andy. Thanks.

  • Awesome post-thank you for this amazing moment. YOUtube should replace network TV in about 5 years. Keep swinging Andy and Tony!

  • frank sinatra said that tony bennett was the best singer in the word

  • @cez1005 who are we to argue. Tony Bennet for me ....well!

  • impresionante...

  • if the singers of today could sing like this...

  • id love to see these two men sing together like this today

  • so effortless.. andy

  • It's a a shame that they cut a whole section out of this. Still great though!

  • Just love this music, just brilliant!

  • I'll agree with you, Bobby was taken from us too soon! A great entertainer, greatly missed. And perhaps these two sound too much alike, but wow! I still really appreciate them as well!

  • incredible, a true moment in history

  • Andy Williams tone-perfect as usual.

  • I just love this Music....just what I needed at my lunch break to get me thru the rest of the workday. It just puts me in a good mood seeing how much enjoyment these two guys get from entertaining--and I LOVE IT!

  • I totally agree friend!! I am listening to these old videos just as much as I use to listen to the radio!

  • Tony es inconmensurable, todos son excelentes pero él está fuera de lote, es grande. Le faltó el aparto publicitario, nada mas, estaba sobrado.

  • you know, there cant be many men who are more hansome in their 80's than they were in their 30's and 40's but tony bennet definatly is.

  • He's definitely still singing like he's 40.

  • If only that were true - both these singers are now well past their best unfortunately.

  • @lukasnummer1 Ridiculous comment. It's obvious a guy in his eighties can't sing like he did in his thirties or forties - you only have to compare clips of them singing forty years ago to what they sound like now. They would probably both admit, if you asked them, that their best singing days are behind them.

  • @lukasnummer1 How can a singer be still as great in his

eighties? He obviously can't sing as well as he did years ago.

Andy williams sings good too? He USED to be good sure, but he

is well past his prime. You only have to compare this clip with

more recent ones to see what I'm talking about.

  • They really do not have em like this today. great

  • It would be nice if they sung this medley again now.

  • Awesome! I get goose bumps everytime I heard Tony wrap up "I left my heart in San Francisco"----These guys are the best!

  • Andy Williams and Tony Bennett doing one of those great medleys that you just don't see anymore on television. Thanks for posting!

  • What a knockout performance! Without question better than Frank and Dean, this pairing, Tony and Andy represent the pinnacle of Pop male performers in the 1960s .. so beautiful, so perfect, so timeless! I'm Glad I remember those times and the Andy Williams show!

  • they are almost same :D but great duet! great singers. Awsome!

  • great duet

  • Just think this was all done live. Have to get it right the first time and they all make it look effortless another sign of greatness. Wonderful voices.

  • youd actually have to do that, then maybe 15 years down the road you could have another golden age!

  • @MrGaryiverson it does make this so much easier to appreciate tho. . .

  • Fantastic thanks Love them both :-)

  • To of the Best Singers Brilliant life time fan.

  • fabbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb love themmmmmmmmmmmmmmm brilliant

  • Excellent.

  • damn tony had some pipes on him!

  • True, almost as good as Andy's!

  • There is more talent in this video than exists in the entire music industry today!

  • you said it!

  • @SteveFallon1 Amen,brother,u ain't kidding.

  • @SteveFallon1 Luckily both of these gentlemen are still sharing their gift with us in 2010.

  • @SteveFallon1 SO TRUE

  • Comment removed

  • @SteveFallon1 I totally agree with your comment. This is what I call a class act.

  • There's such a feelgood factor about this clip. It lightens up your day. A few people have spoken about getting a daily ' fix 'of it, and I reckon I'm gonna join 'em :)

Great humour there as well as the incomparable singing. Check 2.52, when Andy starts singing I left My Heart, applause, and Tony stands up to take a quick bow.. The timing is superb, when Tony mid line - says ' you thought I was going to do the other one there.. ' and comes back in right on the button

    Master pros, bless em

  • Andy is peerless..what a voice!!

  • absolutely, positively NOTHING better than this on youtube. Just listen to the way these guys hold their pitch when singing.

  • Legends both. They dont make em' like they used to, the industry is all but dead. Its not about the love of the music anymore, its all money. Cest la vie, I suppose.

  • tommyd007

yep, the soul seems to have leaked out of it. It was hard in those days because you had to be talented to get anywhere, but that's fair enough really as talent is what it should be about. These days you have to be marketable and sod the talent, which is a ridiculous state of affairs.

The good thing is that we have records of people like these guys. They do inspire younger folk, and those with talent will use them as role models. I wouldn't be surprised to see a resurgence of >

  • < this kind of music, and people who really can sing. There is a market lurking for it...make that ' yearning ' for it..!

Bring on the kids who will sing like Andy and Tony, who instinctively love good music and keep the flame burning for Cole Porter, Sammy Kahn and all the other timeless tunesmiths.

It's a miserable time in many ways and everyone seems to have sold out. But we ain't dead yet, neither is music

  • p.s. any other Andy Williams lovers might like to stick ' andy williams with simon and garfunkel ' in the search. The three of them sing ' Scarborough Fair '

  • Theres hope yet. Its just a wonder if the music industry can weather the storm of all this marketable bullshie abd bring it back to the golden age when music was made because it was good, and because the people making it loved it, instead of making it because it will bring in lots of money.

Would love for this era to come back again, when guys could really make music, films, and were cool simply because they were, like the Rat Pack and Brando. Effortlessly cool, unquestionable talent.

  • @tommyd007 Well, I am unquestionably, effortlessly cool but I can't sing, dance, act or seem to be able do anything with it!

  • @breezebro Then just drive up to a big party in an only Rolls or Ferarri or something, in a tux, and work your effortless charm. Be the Sinatra off-stage! Just a shameless excuse to drink, womanise and bribe your way to greatness.

  • That's pretty much what I've been doin. Except for the bribe part, cause I don't have any money. I think that's where the hold up has been all along.

  • ill do it tenminutes

  • Tony was cool. Tony was demoted in rank in the Army in WW2 for eating his lunch with a black soldier. He didn't care, he was a friend he knew before the war in New York.

  • If i am fancy free and love to wonder...

it's just the gipsy in my soul..........

  • Two of the best voices ever.

  • They are both incredible!!!

  • The two of them held onto that last note for 13 seconds. What great singers.

  • AwEsome!!!!!!!!

  • What a great video. 2 consummate professionals at the peaks of their careers performing this treasure. I watch it almost every night.

  • Still alive, with great voices. What are they waiting for? Love them both, and would pay anything to see them sing this song together now. Geez.

  • These are two of the greats. Could you imagine seeing something like this on network television today?

  • if we have shows like this today.. it might be seen by few people becouse almost the new generation like rappers and naked girld and sex... yeah i know is very sad

  • Forget Batman and Robin, these two fellows are the true dynamic duo.

  • I would love to see them together again. Amazing that this is 45 years ago.

  • who wins best singer in this performance?

  • i'd call it a draw. but they are definitely two of the best ever. and definitely the two best singers alive today

  • The contest ends in a draw..I'm OK with that, hard to pick a winner here. While Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy and even Bing Crosby were truly great overall entertainers (song, dance & acting), these two were unparrelled vocalists, who made it purely with the greatness of their voices; they were simply better singers than all the rest

  • don't forget Perry Como!

  • Andy was the best

  • Tony was more jazzy and Andy was more Hit Parade.

Love em both but that's why I prefer Sinatra he does both.

  • Check out the power in Tony Bennetts voice when he starts singing "when I come home to you San Francisco".....3:02

  • great!

    i lv it

  • What a privilege to watch two of the best talents in showbiz in their prime. The kind of thing we don't see anymore, I'm afraid...

  • I would pay $100 or more to see them together again. This is just incredible. Love them both.

  • They both are enjoying the songs. Really beautiful, impressive!

  • OK, how do we get them together again?

They are both still with us, and both sound good. Is there anyone here who would not pay good money to see them together? Not that it matters. This teaming is a must.

  • grindlbebe

    Pray ;)

To be honest, while these great guys could still give most a run for their money ( especially Tony Bennett whose voice is still pretty remarkable, considering his age ) their best years are behind them, as they would probably be the first to admit. This is their legacy, and it's something else. Even so, though in their 70-80s, I'd still be riveted to see them meet, easing out a softer melody together. They would be different, but still great.

  • you just couldn't sing without really good pitch. The musical standards were so much higher..it wasn't a sweat, it's just the way it was. And the likes of this video is what such standards produced. Seemingly relaxed and easy, but hell these guys are on the button all of the time.

When someone like Madonna gets voted as best female vocalist on earth, you know that things have gone pear-shaped. She's a great businesswoman, but an average voice at best.

The great dumbing-down phenomenon. Oh my.

  • Many comments on the quality of the artists and how you don't see this kind of thing now.

I believe that standards have just dropped, that's it. In those days, if you sang off-key, you were on the scrap heap. If you had no voice, you got nowhere and fast.

Singers simply HAD to be as good as they possibly could, and no ifs or buts. They could not be sloppy and call it freedom of expression. they had to sing the song, but be musically perfect as possible It was tough and no prisoners taken,

  • Are these guys beautiful or what. Jesus you can't just help imagining that this kind of talent isn't around anymore, sure we have great singers but heck is there anything like this...???! Such young guys, loving their gifts and just giving so much pleasure. Timeless.

  • what a cool performance! I am 23 years of age, but I love to sing old songs! to keep them alive! check out my profile. thanks for posting this.

  • This swings! I dig both of their sounds on this medley. Thanks for a sharing this with a guy who loves swingin' singin'!

  • Fantastic listening to these great performers. Wish we could have more like this on TV these days instead of the rubbish we get served up!!!

  • HOW COOL IS THIS! Andy- that range....No one like this anymore.

  • awesome! legend!

  • lo maximo es increible.... andy williams

  • I never get tired of watching this, its just so perfect !

  • Two of my favorite singers! Great video!!

  • Still one of the very best EVER on YouTube. Sure would love to see these guys get together for a reprise, nearly 50 years later. Bet they would bring down the house.
