if you want to get the proper sound that comes in at 0:20, try one of the settings on the digitech synth-wah pedal. i think maybe setting 6 or 7? Either way, it is identical to what they use.

Probably, the soft synth may not have as full a sound just because it is cheaper, but you should be able to get close. Although I have heard some pretty powerful sounding soft synths too.

It has a special computer software, so it only works with a computer, it's practically a midi keyboard but with the specially designed software :D

actually for the G2, not 100% on this but pretty sure.. you connect it to a computer to make patches etc. but then it can do everything standalone

Actually it's a lot more than a midi keyboard - the software allows you to combine virtual modules in any way you see fit and it then generatess the sounds according to that patch. Once the patches are stored in the machine you can call them up like any other synth but programming requires a seperate computer.
