Planeswalkers 2012 was a pretty successful game so obviously they try to suck out a bit more money from the players. Real MTG players just won't give a sh about this one really. The whole magic of the real life MTG card game vanishes and it becomes just another stupid computer game.

You would expect Hasbro or Wizards Of The Coast to run Magic the Gathering, but you are wrong. Shops like StarCityGames have ruined MTG by making the game too costly for kids and young adults to enter and play without spending $700-$1000 just to play standard FNM.

For $400 one can buy an xbox360, 1 yr subscription to xbox live and 5-8 games

Or a PS3 and 3-4 games

those shops are giving kickbacks to the designers and destroying the Hasbro company at same time

@BBradshawProductions My deck only cost me ~$100 to play in standard. My friend's deck cost ~$50. Others' cost anywhere from $150 - $250 at most. These are all acknowledged T1 decklists (or where at one point in standard), and still see top 8 finishes in the local FNM. So... stfu?

By the by, we the consumer dictate the ebb and flow of prices as much as SCG. Our willingness to pay $100 for that JMS does these kind of stupid things. Welcome to supply and demand.
