Man, that was funny. Nintendo wasn't afraid of jumping into the future. In fact, they are famous for creating the most bizarre gaming items you can imagine, yet they were still ahead of its time. In fact, a lot of those ideas served as prototypes for what they're doing now. Nintendo just didn't want to share their franchises with Sony because they had already begun work on their own gaming system. Look at how bad the unholy triforce turned out to be.

The Wii is directed at family households and casual gamers, PS3 & 360 are directed at more hardcore gamers. You can't say Nintendo owns E3 this year because it hasn't happened yet (though you're probably right on that one, unless Sony/MS have something hidden). And PS3 and 360 have more than just shooters. It's cool and fun, I will admit that, but it definitely isn't something that's going to revolutionize gaming. 360 and PS3 are next gen in terms of hardware and the things they can handle, Wii is next gen in terms of new and original ideas.
