This is the very first song I remember liking as a kid. My mom took me to Disneyland on my birthday when I was 5 or something and this song was playing over the loudspeakers. First grade especially is when I remember listening to this song all the time. Born in 1990. 90s child for life!
In Florida they had a local theme park called Miracle Strip that would play this song and others like it all the time during the ride always so much fun...thats one thing about the 80's and 90's pop music it was very happy sounding even if what they were talking about might not have been the happiest material...it left you feeling good about everything
Wow. Could not remember the name of this song forever, just a vague rememberance of over and over. Going thru some old notebooks where I made mention of songs that tripped me, I found this. Like Heaven. Not only the original, but mix and mix and mix. Too much good stuff. You Tube really rules. You can find anything. And thanks to the mixers and fixers too!
I've said it before and I'll say it again... THIS VERSION DESTROYS THE HORRIBLE DANCE REMIX. This is such a freakin' GREAT POP SONG. Long live 90s britpop.
ahhh the memories of sittin next to the radio waiting for a song to come on then hitting the record button and when u go to the bath room and come back then gettin pissed off because the song you were waitin for is half way through
a 20 year old can know the song, but if they are like me, they would probably know the dance mix version..I remember listening to it on one of those 90s dance hits cd. and I'm 21 haha.
@paulallan1000 Hey i remember donna air saying something about her on mtv select years ago lol living in australia making christmas cards for a living! OMFG i feel ancient!
Ok, so for you 90's kids, as cool as I imagine it was for you,it was cooler being a 90's TEEN AGER. I was in high school in the 90's. My kid years were the 80's (all 90's teens were 80's kids first). I love this song and all 90's songs but also 80's songs. I am proud to have 2 great cultures 80's and 90's America behind me. I loved them all...this was when music was better.
Omg I was like 5 or 6 when this song came out. I remember my cousin listening to it and me liking it and singing "jellyhead" over and over again lol. I've been searching for this song for ages but I couldn't remember the lyrics except jellyhead....
@flans44 You feel old? I'm 29. People still say that's young. Used to listen to this kinda stuff when I was in my teens. Wish I could go back then, music, and everything, was way less f'd up than it is today.
@blablahem lmao same here i remember my cousin would always sing this song, i thought it was annoying, since we were just kids lol and she was a girl and had cooties

Oh dear me , That no mans land between Byker grove and sitting around in just your pants for some glamour mag. Oh the choices. Do i get my tits out or do i release some bog standard song
I was in audience of Saturday morning tv show 'It's Not Just Saturday'when I was 16 when Crush were on it singing live. They took about 7 takes and I remember singing it all week. ah the memories. Cheesy but scaringly catchy
I remember taping that! They were the very first act. Performed immediately after the opening credits. I also recall the presenter saying to them afterwards: "You might just have a small hit on your hands with this!"
He was right.
Does anyone have that to upload? Would love to see it...
i love this song!! i was 7 when it came out never heard it again it was last week i heard it again and i looked it up! i love this song it truly is a ::hidden:: 90's classic!
Pedro is correct on the history of Crush. KISS in Dallas was the first station to break "Jellyhead" to the U S Market. I was the first promoter to bring them over. They spent a week in Dallas doing shows around Texas for me. They were 17 at the time! Lots of fun.
No way! That makes sense... I went to Plano West. I grew up listening to Kid Rock... before he was on every major mixed stations in Texas. 106.1 Kiss FM Dallas Ft. Worth!! lol.
I am confused cause I was an extra in some video back in like 1995 and Mariah and her ex Tommy M was there and they were producing or directing a video for a band named crush and the song was called malibu about barbie and Gi joe..
I been trying to find itonline for a while now. They use to play the video all the time when it first came out in NY on the NYC jute box station on tv, but I can't find anything where online. Is this the same crush..it looks like the same blond girl?
I originally heard the "techno pump up" jock jams version back in 1997 when I was 7 years old...never heard it again until this February. One of those classic 90s hits that you absolutely love forever :D
Crush toured South East Asia and the UK, before the Dance Across America roadshow. Shortly afterwards, Hoy fell in love, left the band and moved to Australia, where Jellyhead was also a big hit.
She was replaced by Luciana Caporaso, of Bodyrox/Yeah Yeah fame.
The original Crush LP was remixed and re-released in the US as 'Crush', with several new songs showcasing Luciana.
Jellyhead, with Hoy's original vocals, was the 2nd best-selling single in Texas for the whole of 1997.

It's truly and utterly sad that this song has been out for longer than a decade and you know all this worthless information. This is song is shit and so are you! I bet you are FAT!
OK, once and for all, this is the real deal with Crush:
Donna Air & Jayni Hoy (above) starred in British soap Byker Grove. Afterwards, they formed Crush.
This is their debut single, in its original mix. It scored a 5-star NME review from the Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon and reached Number 50 in the UK, Feb 1996.
The B-side remix, by Motiv8, became a big stateside (and international) hit months later.
Second single, Luv'd Up, reached 45.
Crush's LP, Teenage Kicks, sold 50,000 copies in Japan.
she is prettyeer tho the brunette blondes are scraggy looking...maby thats y they aint famous anymore... some 1 get into contact with them 2 make more songs:)
if this song was ever to be remade, one on group might be able to cover it to near perfection: Girls Aloud. Anyway, I like this original version, which I heard on MTV. It's a got a more steady beat and different hooks to it. I like the rocky edge to it.
The other version is better, and is the version I remember hearing back in 1996 when I was just 9.Now I'm 21 and looking back in those years it seems like those years never existed.Such good times,I'm proud I grew up in the 90's!No decade past or future can compete!
Thank you for posting this! I prefer this version as the guitars and steady beat made it more fun than the usual "3/4 break with techno piano" that seemed to be in EVERY 90's techno song. They sing the song and get out without the useless stuff.
this version is GAY!! The pumphouse 7 version is sooo much betta!! But of course not its remved for friggen violation of rules or some friggen junk!! SOMEONE POST THE PUMPHOUSE & VERSION BUT WITHOUT RANDOMS DANCING TO IT!!!lol

Thank you for posting this! I prefer this version as the guitars and steady beat made it more fun than the usual "3/4 break with techno piano" that seemed to be in EVERY 90's techno song. They sing the song and get out without the useless stuff.
