i love honda's vtec its like the best engine ever made and the s2000 is the perfect car in my world . but i freaken love the UK because racing there is taken much more seriously not saying the US dosent but the brits have a way of doing race that i just love
it called a VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control)...coz it has two cam and when i gets around 6200RPM the second cam kicks in too give u more horse power...look it up on google
Close goldfall. The S2000 has two camshafts, yes. But the second camshaft doesn't kick in after 6000rpm. What happens is that there are six cam lobes per cylinder (3 on the intake side, 3 on the exhaust side). Under 6000rpm, the engine is operating on 4 lower-medium lift lobes (2 on the intake side, 2 on the exhaust side). Above 6k rpm, it switches to 2 larger high-life lobes (2 per cylinder) and allows greater intake of air and fuel (& sometime advances timing), hence the stronger engine sound.
Soft top went a long time ago... As did about 300 Kilo of other stuff we did not need. We had to add some of that back on for the full welded in saftey cage and additional gravity fed fuel tank etc. As for the Carbon Top, we are planning to make one for this car and then sell replicas as a reasonable price - so If you want to buy one, then keep in contact.
We've not done too much at this stage of development. Mugen Induction kit and taken off Air Con etc. Later in the year we plan to put on a PI ECU to replace the OE one. We can then have fun with controlling the VTec, Traction control and have dry and wet throttle maps etc.
Actually we spend most of our budget on developing and improving the car - oh yes and the cost of going racing.... All the filming done at Rockingham outside, is done with pro kit and by pros. The stuff shot inside the car is done with reduced quality kit, but considerring one of the caremas came off the mounts - vibration etc. Then I think what we got was ok.
haha yeah that's true. the s2000 really dont have the red emblem.. i guess only the hondas with "type r", or "type s", or "type" something get the red emblem
For your information, I named the Team after the house that I live in Ridgeway and we are know in the UK as both Ridgeway Racing and Double R Racing. It is easy to see why we use the red Honda R... If you know Honda you know that the R means racing - part of the DNA of Honda...
What? Only one seat? Well you should put a second seat or at least a bracket in there so you could bring a friend with and make them shit in their pants when your pulling more than 1 g
No, I'm not. I guess you are tho. Doing 6000-9000 rpm in everyday traffic is annoying - noisy, uncomfortable for driver and passengers. Let alone zero gas mileage and the way it affects engine's longivity.
S2k wins in acceleration from low revs in 3,4,5,6 gears even Z350 (3.5) and old BoxterS (3.2)!
Did you see the torque graphics of S2000? Yes, by paper, 100% S2k's torque is on about 7k revs, but 80% is already form 2000 revs!
And I am saying all that cos i really know... cos I own one, and before buying i made a nearly 1 year reaserch, comparing it to other cars. It's too expensive to make a mistake, it's not a $500 car...

i've always loved the s2k but it looks so boring. even all moded up like that.

They should put that budget toward proper cameras and mics for the show.

yawn.
Bring me a V8. This is boring.

question.
Sky Motoring obviously has the budget to make a show like this.
So why don't they sign up for their own Youtube channel instead of latching onto Inside Line?
musicnspeed 2 years ago 2
beacause this way they cover the wide range of Inside Line "viewers" at least thats my guess
muertomaniaco 2 years ago
They do have their own channel - inside line just replays some of there stuff

Why does that S2K have a red emblem?
aznboifromVA 2 years ago
type r s2k / itr / ctr / atr they all have red emblem.
magiccaloy1972 2 years ago
honda puts red emblem on their sports cars, such as the nsx, s2000, integra type r, civic type r, etc.
aznboi198 2 years ago
but far as I know there are no red emblems on S2000! Well, only if car colour is red! :))))
There are no TypeR S2000 (or R2000)

Only Type R Hondas get the red badge. It's an aftermarket add-on, obviously.
JaySee5 2 years ago 4
Yeah, i knew that only Type R etc. only have Red Emblems. Probably was just an aftermarket add-on.

the stock s2000 has a crappy acceleration
LeossJ433 2 years ago
yea its sorta true, but keep in mind it about handling and about the 2.0 /2.2L 9000rpm/ 8000rpm engine experience and the fantastic handling
TechWithLukasz 2 years ago
But in everyday driving when you're running the engine between 2000 and 3000 rpm, it feels like it's dead, broken.
sspope 2 years ago
GTFO! do 6000-9000 rpm then!
Are you a homo?

Agree, but only if you compare it to HEMI V8. Tell me any other N/A 2.0 wich do better on low revs? none
PreludeH22A5 2 years ago
Anything from Peugeot/BMW or VW - FSI.
Although they won't rev that high.

Exuse me... Look at the compares (S2000 vs...)
