  • I was driving that section of road about 15 years ago.. heading up to Sheridan. Mid-march, sunny and warm, but windy and blowing snow. Stretches of dry road interrupted by patches of deep slush. Locals with pickups and horse-trailers as well as tourists with SUV's were passing me, as I was driving to suit conditions. By the time I passed Chugwater, I counted 6 wrecks.. including one fatality. Worst drivers I see here in Wyoming are the Coloradans,.. absolutely the worst drivers anywhere.

  • That's about 1/2 way between Cheyenne and Wheatland just north of the town of Chugwater. Winds out there have been clocked at 80mph with gusts even higher. Double T Trucking handles most of the Truck "Blow Overs". They get a minimum of 3 per week, more in the winter. In 2 places the Hi-Way Dept. has installed Aviation Wind Socks to alert truckers to to wind speed and direction.

  • The winds are crazy out there too

  • I'd hate to say it but there's already a trucking show on T.V.

(Ice Road Truckers) Good stuff though

  • When was this, i live in Cheyenne Wy.

  • lol. That place sounds like its the end of the world.
