  • you miserable vomitous mass :D

  • <3

  • This is one MY favorite scenes in the movie as well

  • "its possible pig"

  • It's conceivable he's bluffing?

    Inconceivable!

  • Westley's moustache looks like a third eyebrow.

  • this is my favorite part too!!!!!

  • I love how at the end he gathers up his robes like a maiden and bustles away to the chair to sit down. lol

  • the prince his name in the movie is prince Humperdink

  • Comment removed

  • he reminds me of ryan reynolds but hes way too handsome <3

  • the prince looks like a little kid when wesley tells him to "have a seat"

  • So my mom had me watch this movie and I was like, "well, it scared the crap out of me but...the guy is GORGEOUS!!!" She literally bowled over laughing.

  • why is their a star wars video in the suggestions?

  • 0:01

  • 0:00

  • GOD HIS HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow. Looks like I'm not the only want who wanted to do that whole "To the Pain" thing to someone.

  • Its possible, Pig.

    lol wtf

  • Hello there. I'm the Dread Pirate Roberts here with Dateline MSNBC. Why don't you have a seat?

  • Im gonna have to be the first arent I (just like with tattoos)? Fine Ill start the 'stash again.

  • enjoy the moustache jokes while you can.... its coming back... 5-10 years from now. Everything always does dont dont it.

  • .. now make me a sandwich.

  • NO!!! to the PAIN

  • Thank you for this video. It saved me much trouble in describing a fight to the pain to a friend who has yet to see the movie. Also, now I believe I have convinced her to see the movie.

  • Sorry couldnt put the whole thing in one comment, did I also mention that he made him DROP his sword. Just by what he put in his voice and eyes? You can obviously see that he dropped it, and I know as well as you do that he was supposed to drop the sword due to the script, but its still just amazing. If this were real, he would have made him do that even if it wasn't written that way. One more thing. Cary Elwes is extremely attractive :)

  • Honestly, I think that this is one of Cary Elwes' best moments in acting. He shows true talent in this scene. He stares at him so intently, and he never takes his eyes off him, he keeps the exact same expression on his face, showing everyone watching how cruel(for good reason) he can be. His acting is amazing, I can't really do a proper job explaining what i mean. However I hope you get the idea.

  • God, why does he take this long to explain this? And then the end?! Seriously, you would at least think the guy would try

  • THE BEST STALLING EVA!!!

  • Comment removed

  • lol he's like an obedient little kid when he sits

  • Aside from being a superlative literary gasp, this is truly funny. Thanks for introducing me to this show. I had only ever before heard of the Student Prince, and Blackadder and Life of Brian... well, they all seem to be coming together in the Princess Bride. lol

  • Written by William Goldman, perhaps the best ever at adapting a novel to the screen. He wrote "The Princess Bride" under the pseudonym Simon Morgenstern. Goldman (as Morgenstern [Peter Falk]) is being paid to abridge his own work and wants to add a scene but the editors say no, so he urges the reader to write to them and request a copy of the deleted scene The real publisher keeping the story alive to this day, will send a letter detailing his legal problems with Morgenstern's estate. Brilliant.

  • Why are all these breastfeeding videos suggested?

  • @ashleypanda Because the scene before this one is when he tells her, " There is a shortage of perfect breasts in this world; it would be a pity to damage yours." Not that I have this movie memorized jus sayin. =)

  • @lawnsausages I know, but still... weird.

  • @ashleypanda No not weird. Not if you've had children. It brings back memories of their fuzzy little round heads and miniature hands (with those impossibly small fingernails). They are all grown now my youngest starts college in the spring at UCSC GO SLUGS!

  • "i'll explain, and I'll use small words so that you'll be sure to understand, you warthog-faced bafoon"

  • i gotta be honest. He is the first blond guy i've ever heard talking like that.

  • missed the best bit when he falls over and you relise he was bluffing

  • TO THE PAIN!!

  • Dear God, what IS that moustache!!

  • @forgetfullandstuff bloody attractive that's what :):):)

  • @forgetfullandstuff dear god I LOVE that moustache!!!!!!

  • @forgetfullandstuff sexyness

  • @forgetfullandstuff BOOO! Westley is the shit. Bet you can't grow a moustache like that.

  • @Farglesword Since I am a woman that is probably a good thing.

  • Sorry, I love this scene BUT..... How does he not blink once in the entire thing!?

  • @StarInfernal Doesn't that make it MORE awesome??

  • @StarInfernal Practice. My friend told me he once sat through two Lord of the Rings movies back to back without blinking. You just have to work your way up to it.

  • My favorite quote from the movie...and Princess Bride is one of my favorite Cloud Cult songs!

  • Please, people. His name is Westley, with a T.

  • I think it's pretty epic when Westley stands up, points the sword at Humperdink, and says, "Drop. Your. Sword." Basically he's saying, "I'm more awesome than you'll ever hope to be."

  • I have a question. how did you get this video clip to put on here?

  • Who agrees that a comedic battle between Wesley and the warthog-faced bafoon would be totally epic.

  • I've thought long and hard about this, (I said long and hard...) this is the best movie ever.

  • @Armentamz

    what about the lion king?

  • My fiance looks JUST like a Cary elwes before he got old... He looks more like the one in Robin Hood, without the Goatee, only with dark brown hair... Same eyes, voice, hes 6'0 and hes 21 *hehehe* Hes a lumberjack/arborist. Were getting married next year. His name is Joshua. <3

  • loved that part!

  • "Drop. Your. Sword."

    *clang*

    "Have a seat."

*picks up his dress and sits down*

  • when i was little i drew pictures of wesley, buttercup, and humperdinck how buttercup was supposed to marry humperdinck and than wesley saved her well instead of writing humperdinck i put humperdick instead so my mom ripped out all the pages with that on!

  • that sucked

  • oh my god! this is sooo cool.!

  • I LOVE THIS!!! he is so BA he just stands up and points his sword right at his throat "Drop. Your. Sword." XD lol I love him so much!

  • *after the speech* Ho. Ly. Shit. O_o

  • One of my favs as well!! t:)

  • Maybe the best scene ever where theres no real fighting.

  • He doesn't blink!

This is my favorite scene too :3

  • He is sooooo HOT!!!! (:

  • "I'm Chris Hansen with dateline nbc. Drop_your_sword. Have a seat!"

  • how many times do you think the can say "Conceivable" and "Inconceivable" in one movie?

  • "Drop...your...sword."

    LOL

  • @Scoutpower1 *clash*

  • "But first things first-to the death!"

    No! To the pay!"

    LOL

  • "Your ears you keep, and I'll tell you why. So that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish, every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out: "Dear God, what is that thing?" will echo in your perfect ears. That is what "to the pain" means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery, forever."

    Not bad.

  • Humperdinck totally gets owned in this scene.

  • "I'll be sure to use small words so you'll be sure to understand, you wart hogged faced bafoon:

    Best. Line. Ever.

  • I love wesleys ways of humour and wit he is the king of insulting ppl

  • Isn't the prince that deadly mother fucking vampire in fright night?

  • @LDKBBAB Yes, he was in fright night. He was also Al Pacino's transsexual lover in Dog Day Afternoon, and the lead male character in Child's Play (the first Chucky movie).

  • @foodlovingpig

    who??

  • @ebeliz1114 Chris Sarandon. He's the guy playing Prince Humperdinck in this.

  • ''The first thing you would lose would be your feet below the ankles...'' ha, funny. It reminds me the time Cary was in SAW. XD

  • @ebeliz1114 Yeah, really.

  • 9 people stabbed their feet when they dropped their swords

  • I wish they could make movies this awesome these days.

  • @tobloyd he speaks in a spanish accent, because you see, spanish is not just one whole accent

  • Dear god what is that thing. haha

  • DROP YOUR SWORD.................Have a seat

  • me too i agree with it

  • It'sPossiblePig

  • Thumbs up if you had to blink instead of Westley :)

  • i was watching in spanish the other night, still as awesome, i dare to say, even better than the english version, but maybe because i was raised to speak spanish

  • @medalofhonor31 how do they do the "hello, my name is is inigo montoya" part in Spanish—with an ENGLISH accent??

  • 9 people have fought to the pain.

  • Comment removed

  • best ever

  • "Drop. Your. Sword." Epic!

  • Nice!

  • oh gosh that is my favorite scene! thanks for uploading ittt! i get chills when he says 'drop you sword' SO EPIC

  • We should use this, "to the pain," as our "capital punishment". Don't kill them right of, just let them stew in their anguish and misery, then when they are at their weakest dispatch them. All this if we are to use "capital punishment" that is.

  • @lmordro we have this little clause in our Bill of Rights that prohibits that kind of thing....Something about "cruel and unusual punishment" or something like that....but I share you enthusiasm for making bad guys hurt

  • @TruBlu54 Ya ur right.

  • He admits that the prince has perfect ears...

    :/

  • what's that thing on his lip?

  • WIN!!!

  • he never blinks!!!!!!!!!

  • "WRONG!" sexiest word ever to come out of his mouth

  • you warthog faced bufoon, it's possible pig, it's consevable you miserable vomitis mass. best rips ever XD

  • Wallowing in freakish misery forever.... hahaaa!

  • I love how Prince Humperdinck has to grab his sleeves before sitting down.

  • Its possible-pig! i love it!

  • westley stands up and just says drop.. your.. sword and the prince is scared shitless :D best movie ever !

  • 9 people were fought to the pain and lost

  • Anyone realize how all the good fantasy movies were back then? The Princess Bride, Labyrinth, Never Ending Story.. They just aren't that good anymore.

  • you know what happened lord of the rings happened ever since those movies came out every other fantasy that followed has tried to be exact duplicates look at films like eragon or in the name of the king a dungeon siege terrible movies that both tried to copy the same formula and failed miserably directors attempt to copy what has been done instead of doing something unique look at this scene in any other movie a lame over choreograph fight would have happened instead we get this epic ownage

  • @OMEGON312p255p99 Yeah, I think that's it.

  • @OMEGON312p255p99 This was before Lord of the Rings.

  • @OMEGON312p255p99 the movies, anyway. yes the book came first but fantasy was different in film during this era.

  • @OMEGON312p255p99 Well, the movies are very different. If Lord of the Rings had been made in the style of Princess Bride it would have been awful, and vice versa.

  • @squamish4244 i know they are Lord of the Rings when it came out fans of fantasy had never seen a live action movie like what the triligoy presented they were well written well acted and yes original after those movies everybody tried to copy off of them the Golden Compass Eragon are two recent fantasy films that both try to copy the LOTR formula and fail at them what I'm saying is that after Lord of the Rings came out Directors tried to keep copying them

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 Labyrinth was a piece of crap. I almost fell asleep during it.

  • @aang94479 Don't bother telling me things I don't need to hear. If you liked the movie, that's great. If you didn't, be mature, get over it, and don't talk about it.

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 You are right but stardust was amazing to ;o.

  • @XxXRaWrImAdInOXxX14 Stardust is amazing, but it's a movie of a wonderful 1998 book by Neil Gaiman.

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 Yes the book was great x'D but the movie is good to. Although fun fact labyrinth scared me as child. n.n

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 The 80's was the divine decade of awesome fantasy movies.

  • @Comrade812 Yes, yes it was.

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 what do you mean?

  • @SailorPikachu96 Well all the really really good fantasy movies were made a while back. People can't seem to make them as good anymore.

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 Idk about Labyrinth, I got tired of seeing Bowie's package in tight purple pants >.>

  • @TheKorwegian You got tired of seeing Bowie's package? Inconceivable!

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 Yeah, let's forget about all the cheesy as hell/derivative fantasy movies of the time. Those sure as hell weren't around at all back then.

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 I don't know if I agree totally. Yes, the acting was better but if you compare the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia would give some of these older shows a run for their money.

  • @Ryooken It's not the acting I was talking about. Narnia, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings (I think) are all based off books that were from at least ten years ago. I was talking about people not able to come up with stuff that's just as good anymore.

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 Well the problem is that people in Hollywood don't want to. They want to follow a formula for making money and not telling great stories. For example, Pierce Anthony's incarnation saga. Look at Melanie Rawn's books. All would make great movies. They just won't do it. Look at some of the comic book heroes that you don't see. Like Scarlet Witch. I agree they don't make fantasy movies the way they used to and it's a shame.

  • @BuffyTheSlayer14 Never Ending Story is on Blu Ray now XD

  • That was an awesome shirt. damn those ROUS's!

  • So was Wesley the last blond guy to play a hero in a movie? They always seem to be bad guys nowadays.

  • @melosebrainuhoh he plays a bad guy in Ella Enchanted

  • @bookwormx221 But he's got dark hair in Ella Enchanted :)

  • this, with no doubt, the best mvoie of all time

  • love it

  • dear god what IS that thing!!! lol XD i love this part sooooooo much thnk u!!

  • i love this movie so much :') especially this scene.

  • Man! IS there any movie where Cary Elwes doesn't play a handsome, charming, fellow

  • @jsteffey88 No Strings Attached :p

  • @jsteffey88 ya twister

  • @jsteffey88 ya twister but dont get me wrong i do love the guy

  • @bringthefunin I'd figure it'd be Saw. Twister, yeah, that too. But would assume some ladies would still think he's charming portraying a Southern scientist.

  • To the PAIN!!!

  • i hope they re release this like they did ET--- i love this movie :D

  • @molovesmusic567 Just as long as they don't replace all the swords with walkie talkies.

  • Cary is also Dr. Lawrence Gordon in The Saw Series, one of my favourties!

He can truly act in any genre!

  • drop....your......sword........

    fucking YES!!

  • not in your opinion....it is the best scene in the movie, dude. no doubt.

  • 1:28 is the best part! :D

  • cary elwes and paul bettany are the 2 most underated actors out there

  • DAAAAAANG! he jus got bitched slpped verbally lol

  • "its possible pig! i might be bluffing"

  • BURN!!!!!!!

  • anyone else notice his mustache is uneven?

  • to the pain

  • "Have a seat." And the prince rushes to the chair like a little bitch. :D

  • @Alakazambarapoof and folds his hands neatly in his lap like a little child. Hahahahaha

  • @Alakazambarapoof thats because he is, i mean he wears a skirt.

  • I love how he grabs his sleeves xD

  • Dr. Gordon just threatened to cut the king's feet off below the ankles...foreshadowing?

  • @cookingwithice omg lol that is coincedental i think :)

  • Cary Elwes? swooooooooooooooon!

  • NO. to the pain.

    ...

i dont think i'm quite familiar with that phrase...

  • 0:00 - 0:10 Wrong! The best scene in The Princess Bride is EVERY scene in The Princess Bride!
