  • sounds like something in a video games reminds me of zelda

  • no i'm really creep'd out because i thought George Carlin was dead +_+ boo! ....hehehe

  • I can see the gargoyles hanging from the cathedral's rafters...visions exceeding my constricted imagination...the vague outline of Nosferatu...the organ music...must get fresh air...lungs need air...barely make out outlines of hundreds of bats...wings flapping sounds...candlelight coming from the crevice in the walls. The alluring sound of the music...

  • Is this Widor?

  • No...it is Leon Boellmann...Toccata from Suite Gothique

  • @inrharmony no this is patrick

  • Lol you look at the camera and smile at the end XD That was amazing organ skills my friend. loved it

  • could every one give me the sheet of this song...i cant find this gener on internet!! thanks everyone who will reply!!!

  • I quite nearly hate this piece.... having had to play it billions of times I frown every time I'm asked to play it, LOL!

Anyway, thanks for playing it at an appropriate speed! Too many people play it just too fast, and it's simply wrong!

(Allright, a couple of times I've been one of them, I have to admit... nobody's without sin! LOL!)

  • @ProfRikk Well...we've all played those pieces that just drive us mad at some point or another...the Widor Toccata being the other one...but thank you for your kind comments!

  • @inrharmony yes, yes, the Widor, oh dear!!! :-D

If you happen to be around London, let me know if you fancy having a go at the organs in my area (well, basically the ones I play in my videos) and I'll be very happy to arrange a visit for you!

  • @ProfRikk Wow....nice stuff on your channel!!! Your playing is wonderful!!! If I ever AM in London, I will for sure look you up....never been to the UK, but my roots are all over the Celtic map, so a trip to the islands is certainly in order one day soon.

  • @inrharmony thank you!!! :-)

  • its not creepy...

  • nice,I wish I could play like that, right now I'm trying to compose something really gothic and dark but nothing comes to my mind right now :S...

  • check out,,,CHATEAU ROYAL--(postmortem)

  • wow this make me think of the ghost and mr chicken

  • Don't worry about the sound quality on this vid. I think it sounds great...gives the music an ominous sound...which is just right for a piece like this.

  • great video. It reminds me of scary fantasies I had when I was a child, of being locked in a huge church at night, all alone, and suddenly the organ would start playing something like this. I grew up in a small Southern town with a cathedral-like gothic Catholic church. Creepy!

  • awesome

  • Play the organ music from "The Ghost And Mr. Chicken" movie by Vic Mizzy

  • this music is inspirirng

  • Where's the organ and what is the specification? Love your Boellman, by the way.

  • Church of the Redeemer, Sarasota, FL. You can see the organ specs if you go to the Nichols and Simpson web page. Thanks for the comment!

  • thank you!!

If you ever come to Australia - let me know and I'll arrange for you to play the Sydney Town Hall Grand Organ (which is one of two only with a full length 64' stop).

  • wow....a true 64'....scary cool!!! Thanks for the offer....I hope to get to Australia someday...

  • aaaaaaaaaaaawsome

  • Thank you!

  • What musical Artists are famous for writing dark and creepy organ pieces? I'd like to buy some!

  • There's probably a compilation of scary music if you google it....the French are noted for scary stuff....although Bach comes up with some creepy stuff too!!

  • very awesome piece.

I believe that good organ pieces are evil, minor or just plain creepy

  • Eh....there's plenty of good ones that are quite "happy" sounding...but I enjoy the creepy stuff for sure!!!

  • You're not alone. I love scary pipe organ music. And I must say, you're really good.

  • not to be weird but i find this to be my favorite kind of organ music... i believe creepy music just brings out the organ's majestic sound and makes it that much more awesome... well done!

  • agreed!!

  • OMG, to acutally be in the room or hall and experience this oragon in it's true acoustic glory! MIND BLOWING!

  • It's an awesome experience....

  • Wow werry nice :D!!!!

  • Too cool!

  • Thanks!!!

  • its very scary but indeed very beautiful!I like this kind of song...

  • It's a wonderful piece....

  • Gj! Request: Grim Grinnings!

  • LOL.....love it!!! Thanks!!!

  • this must come in a old style horror movie in the future

  • It just might!!!

  • Boellmann's Toccata sounds great on this organ, it's almost like it was fit for this peice!! lol

  • The intent was to install a really versatile concert organ, but one that could also serve as an instrument for worship. I love that we can pull out "all the stops", though....thanks for the comments!!!

  • Love this Organ and the way you are playing that arrangement. Wish there was a CD of that to buy. That organ should be recorded! More clips like this would be nice.

  • Thank you. I'm hoping that we can arrange to have something really good recorded on this organ in the near future.....

  • i love this piece! Superb man!

I would kill for a three manual like that.

  • It's an enjoyable one to play!!! Thanks for the nice comment!!!

  • Arrangement? Not sure....it's been so long since I learned it, and I have it memorized.

The organ is a Nichols and Simpson. Google them and you'll find a link on their page to Church of the Redeemer, Sarasota, FL. There you'll find all the specs.

  • Sweet! Thanks for the info!

  • u should learn slayer's "south of heaven."

i learned it on piano,it sounds fantastically creepy, great for organ.

  • man we used to have an organ in our living room, but i was only like 6, so i didn't really have the interst to play it, im 15 now, and its long gone, but i wanna play it!!! someday i plan on taking lessons

  • Wow, you're good, I love the organ. Creepy music is my thing!

You should try playing something like mein hertz brennt by rammstein, some played that one piano, but if you could do it with organ, that would be even better

  • Thanks for the comment and suggestion!!!

  • your welcome

do you own the organ you played on?

  • Not hardly....lol!!! It's the pipe organ at the church where I work.

  • phew. . .that's good to know

    you work at a church?

  • Yeppers....assistant organist.

  • not scary, pretty kool song though

  • Well, if you don't have to look at my goofy self playing, it can be a scary piece....hehehe

  • haha yeah, thats a pretty cool organ, how much do you think it costed?

  • Pretty close to $800,000....

  • And I thought guitars were expensive :P

  • It's nice....why people consider organs as "creepy" or "scary" instruments is probably because of the reputation of who plays these instruments...read the history of this instrument...it's pretty weird to read about...

  • Yeah, not to mention the reputation of some of the composers....real tweakazoids, some of them!!!

  • i absolutely love organ/keyboard. its one of the very few instruments where you find musicians who can improvise. Whether you were improvising here, i dunno, but i do like it.

all the great quality stuff is improvised (i improvised piano style in my latest video). in my opinion, if someone who can improvise, when they do improvise, it sounds 150% better than something they composed!

Anyway, this is pretty good! not scary as such cause i love playing with church organs, but its pretty awesome!

  • Thanks for the kind comments. This isn't improve, but rather a Toccata by Leon Boellmann, which is pretty famous in organ liturature. This was in response to one of those silly tags, and I can't do anything else scary besides play the organ, so there it is...heheh. I like to improve, but it never sounds as impressive as some of the pieces I play already...but I keep trying!!!

  • if there was a way in teaching improvisation, i'd say it is mostly instinct.

  • Agreed...

  • OMG! That was so cool it sent shivers down my spine. The organ is definitely one of the most personality-ridden instruments. It's just great for scary movie music and other gothic themes!

    Great playing!

  • Thanks for the most kind comment!!! I've always had a soft spot for the scary organ music.....

  • Run the sound through a good system with a subwoofer. Watch everything vibrate in the room.

  • Wow....I hope you warned your neighbors!!!

  • not scary but werid

  • thanks...I think!!!

  • Wow! My comp is vibrating, awesome! :D

  • Thanks!!!

  • Getting that off iTunes immediately. You are awesome at the pipe organ! Any other pipe organ pieces you recommend for a scary or sad theme?

  • Wow....there's so many pieces to choose from with a scary theme...Bach Toccata and Fugue in D minor is another biggie...

    Thanks for the kind compliment!!!

  • That was awsome!! I love the pipe organ.

  • Yeah, it's a powerful, living thing...lots of fun to play!!

  • Pretty!

  • Yeah....pretty loud!!! Thanks for the comment!!!

  • Awesome, I love when people play pipe organs like that!!!!

  • Thanks....it's a fun instrument to "wail" on!!!

  • great work!! were these works creepy when they were composed? or have we just come to associate them as scary?

  • That's a good question...I doubt he had Halloween in mind, but you never know!!!

  • I think, because of there use in the dracula films, e.t.c, people have come to view them as being scary, they can be very beautiful instruments, soft, quiet and gentle, to a LOUD and earth shaking roar!

  • Is the song called Toccata?

  • Yes it is....Toccata from "Suite Gothique", by Leon Boellmann.

  • hey i have a organ like that its hard to find some one with an goran or that plays it i know how to play the song that davey jhons plays on the flying duch-men and some other creepy songs well eny way i have an actuel organ pipe thats a tached to my living room and its lud as hell like 3-4 time loder than a piano its now eletrik has lots off little pipes and big pipes i love my faveorate song to play is gigout
  • Thanks for the comment...I love the Gigout as well...I play that from time to time. Sad to say that this organ isn't in my home, but my neighbors are glad...haha. Although lately they've had to put up with bagpipes, which is worse...

  • this was a real cool video, nicely played, however im lookin for a song tht was made onto a cd a long time ago, it was one song on the whole cd with music playing and screams and shit in the bacground, anyone no wut im talkn bout??

  • Thanks for the comment...no clue what cd you're asking about however...good luck with the search!!!

  • i feel like death will approach me

  • Oh, it most certainly will....MWAAAAHHHHH!!!

  • Excellent song! You should try "Kamigami no Tatakai" is also creepy

    BTW, Amazing talent!

  • i dont think its creepy or scary

i think thats talent i did keyboard back in school and thought it was incredibly hard to play with both hands at the same time

  • Eh, neither do I....hehehe. I was creepy and scary to learn, however....

  • Nicely done!

  • Thanks!!! It's fun applying goofiness to an almost million dollar instrument!!!

  • Somewhere the spirit of Bela Lugosi is giving this 5 stars.

    OH! And so am I.

    :-D

  • Curt, somehow YouTube never told me that you replied to this vid...so I apologize for the delay in responding!!! Thanks...one of the more fun pieces to play....

  • Nice One!! I've just brought the whole movements of this should be rather fun to play!

  • It really is a blast to play...good luck with it!!!

  • Thanks...I had fun making this one....

  • I almost didn't play this because of the "creepy" label, but it is powerful and enjoyable!

  • Thanks...I didn't want to gross anyone out with blood or guts or anything...just a bit of scary music. Fun piece...one of my favs....

  • Love the sound of a pipe organ.

    (even if it is creepy)

  • I think the creepiest part is the crappy mic in my camera...hehehe...otherwise this organ is magnificent...even with lil' ol' me playing it...LOL!!!

  • As far as we are concerned, lil' ol' you does a pretty great job of playing it.

  • *blush*
