  • Cool Dude, Same problem. Cool music but on LPs. I'm having trouble setup the sound card on my computer so AA3.0 can work. I have to go to Edit...Audio Hardware setup...then it gets complicated. Can you help? Can you do a hardware/software setup video? Thanks man, from NY!

  • @almc2242 What kind of sound card do you have? what operating system? You should have been able to do the audio setup to your sound card. Do you have a pre amp? its a small box that will boost your sound from record to mp3. If you dont have one get one or you wont like the sound.

  • hello 1uneek. here's what i did. I ended up using audacity because audition doesn't like windows 7. audition did not find my internal sound card on my new PC desktop. It keep seeing the Audition 3.0 windows sound. But the dj preamp did work on audacity.

right now i'm using audition to clean up the sound from my vinyl recordings.

Thanks so much for your help.

  • Hello 1uneek. We gave up a month ago. I connected our turntable to the pre amp then to the computer (desktop) via microphone jack input (we bought the rca to mini jack from radio shack). We got frustrated with the first set up because audition is not seeing the turntable. We called Adobe and believe it or not, nobody could not help us. So i'm back here to ask how did you set up for whole entire audition software set up?

  • @haribonknight72 you have aa 3.0? Lets try this: turntable should go into and IN that should be out of the preamp. Preamp should go out into the laptop. If you have the one and only soundcard in the laptop, identify the name. Open AA and look i think in 3.0 options, devise, settings or options and set your sound card to record, output etc. Press the record button and see if you see the two recording bars go back and forth. Try this if you havent. Let me know and we can troubleshoot it.

  • I was wondering if you can make a video on how to set up a PC, turntable, and audition together. This would be very helpful for guys like me that love to capture our old records and I’m not very computer savy.

  • @haribonknight72 Thanks for your comment. SInce I made this video i found out that I needed a pre amp. It works perfect with my records. The kind I bought was about 60 bucks but well worth it if youre gonna record your vinyl. Go to zzsounds or google artccessories preampll. They have one now with usb connection. Ill try to make a vid soon. You really need that preamp. Let me know if you get it and we'll go from there.

  • @1uneek Thank you! I bought the pre amp that you recommended. It should receive it by next Tuesday! I'll contact you once its hooked up! Thanks 1uneek!

  • @1uneek hello 1uneek! I got the Artccessories pre amp today! I'm ready for installation. I got it hooked up from the 1200 to the art box to the laptop. but can't figure out the adobe audition set up now!

  • @haribonknight72 Can you hear the record over your speakers and sound card? What version of audition do you have? Do you have an accnt on facebook? If you do send it thru messeges and Ill add you so we can aim instead of leaving messages here.

  • @haribonknight72 Hey man? did you get your records to record on AA? I hope i didnt freak you by asking you to be on facebook? I just thought it would be easier to talk on line so I could try to walk you thru it. Anyway, I hope you got it if not let me know. Peace.

  • @1uneek Hello 1uneek! I've been on vacation for the past weeks! My girlfriend and I are going to try to connect it the preamp, turntable, and laptop this weekend. I hope it goes smoothly this time because we bought a new HP laptop.

  • @haribonknight72 I was wondering what happened to you. Ive been recording my records at nights. I sorted mine by alphabetical order. That was time consuming but it works out better. Let me know how the recording go. Peace.

  • how did u ook up the turntable or mixer to the computer, or did u record the sound through a microphone?

  • The problem is that by recording a mix my adobe audition create file approximately 5GB for 45-60 minutes and to save this in mp3 or to make some changes of volume etc. it takes very long time because regular mp3 mix will be like 300-400mb, but I didn't try to adjust this program that it record from the start to mp3. Maybe somebody knows how to do this faster?

  • Thank you for posting this, you showed me how to convert my wav files to mp3s on adobe audition. It was possible all this time I've had it, but I didn't know how to do it until you showed me. Thanks!

  • i usually set my normalization rate to -3 dbs. the buttons to the right of your record pause play rewind buttons are for zooming in on your waveform. nice job

  • Instead of using the amplify effect, you should use the Normalize effect. This will stretch the audio to whatever percentage you want but will not clip it.

If you over amplify and then apply a negative amplify like you did in the video, anything that peaked/clipped will be damaged. If you do the amplify method, I would undo the over-amplification and then amplify +10db so you can preserve the fidelity.

Good video though for people who need help in Audition.

  • Thanks for the info. I'll do it.
