  • These guys truly are fine musicians. And they are loyal to the songs they play. They do them right and with passion. Which, begs the question...WHAT IS, a Tribute Band, or for that matter a cover band? Somehow, the nomenclature is wrong.

When any philharmonic orchestra does a Mozart or a Verdi concert, does that make them a cover band? I'm sorry, a cover orchestra? Can't bands just be known for being good musicians that just happen to play the songs of bands long gone by?

  • A-mazing! I can hardly believe my ears! Simply said, I am, stunned. What a truly fine collection of dedicated songsters, loyal to each and every note!

  • Saw them just last night in Easton, PA. Unbelievable! Got to meet the band (I even got to meet Denny Laine who appeared with them for a few numbers!). Great band, great guys, great fun.

  • @ClearJack - while I think these guys are really great, I disagree about "a hundred times better than all the other tribute bands"....1964 The Tribute recreates the sound AMAZINGLY WELL but they only do the early music, up to when The Beatles stopped touring. I can't wait to see them again, but I also can't wait to see this band because I know I'll really love it.

  • @kernalkorn I wouldn't say 1964 is better, in fact you can't even put them in the same category since the goals of the band are different. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Both good, but not exactly in the same league.

  • @gtrmu They are Beatles tribute bands - it can't get any more similar than that! Yeah, sure, they have differing strengths in terms of the numbers and kinds of instrumentation they can bring to bear on the music, but I've seen both and enjoyed them both immensely. I've been listening to (and loving) Beatles' music since 1963, have virtually everything they ever recorded and was blown away by both. You are entitled to your opinion, I suppose ... even if it does happen to be completely wrong.

  • @GumatzPotrzebie When I say a tribute band I mean going the whole mile as in doing the suits, accents, wigs, the whole nine yards. While this is a tribute to the music, it's not a proper tribute band. Still very well done though!

  • EXCELLENT rendition!

  • I saw them at the Ritz in Ybor City, {Tampa, FL}, with my 10yr old daughter. They were amazing, we had soooo much fun. We can't wait till they come back!!!!

  • Wow.....can we get these guys to come play somewhere in the Philly suburbs! Then have Jim Boggia with them afterwards.....an Orgasmic Beatles Night (and how about any from Wings and Band on the Run?)....

  • One of the best Beatles songs ever !!!

  • Just saw these guys LIVE in MA tonight ............. close your eyes you are there!!

  • This could possibly be one of the most pristine covers of a Beatles song I have ever heard. One could practice for a million years to get the Beatles sound...they come close.

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome! i heard these guys on stern a while back. they did an amazing version of penny lane!

  • these guys are a hundred times better than all the other tribute bands out there. They actually try to emulate the sound instead of looking and dressing like the fabs.

  • These guys are great and so are the Fab Four too. just saying.

  • The Fab Four are my favorite proper tribute band! But these guys are my overall favorite.

  • these guys fuckin kick serious ass.

  • Damn right!

  • I've seen these guys live 3 times. A must see for Beatles fanatics everywhere.Great musicians. Of all the songs they perform, Dear Prudence comes closest IMO to the original version. Fab Faux versions of I am the Walrus and While My Guitar Gently Weeps are amazing. Check 'em out

  • Well said!

  • woo-hoo....I'll be seeing them jam at the Warner Theater next month....

  • What a beautiful song they do a great job. But Nobody can sing it like John. This is still my favorite song.

  • Dear Prudence, my favorite too

  • goood

  • Excellent version of this song.

    You have my respect.

  • I'm not a member of the band, just a fan who posted this video. But thanks for the positive feedback!

  • No need to analize, pick apart every note these guys play. Its a wonderful cover to be enjoyed on a wonderful afternoon surrounded by friends ! Peace

  • fantastic

  • LENNON IS ALIVE............

  • AWESOME!!!!!! even though it was on electric I can honestly say you rock!

  • Great! One thing though..

The last 2 measures of the guitar riff is a Gmaj7 w/B in the bass followed by a Gm(maj7) w/Bb in the bass. It's possible I just didn't hear this correctly but since you guys are so anal but this stuff, as I am, maybe you could check this.

    Love,

    Freddy

  • I'm going to say to you what I said to someone who left a similar comment on the Drive My Car video: they can't be perfect 100% of the time. Mistakes are bound to pop up here and there. Hell if they were perfect all the time, it would be boring. They'd be like robots. No matter what, there are only 4 people who could do this music better, and 2 of them are no longer with us.

  • its a "cover" they dont have to play exactly what the beatles play they probally replace the riff with their own riff

  • Picking pattern is the same. It's a pattern that John learned from Donovan. Saw a tape of Sean Lennon singing this. Anyone have it?

  • I came across it on here a while back, I'm sure it's still up if you search for it.

  • Thanks! There is a recording (music video)of Sean doing it here on utube and it's pretty good. The one I'm looking for is about 5 years older where he's just sitting with his acoustic guitar, playing and singing. A very warm rendition. He must have a spot in his heart for this song.

  • Great intro! This is one of the best covers of this song I have ever heard. They are really good!

  • A song about Mia Farrow's sister, right?

  • Correct, John wrote it about her when he got back from the Indian retreat

  • It was about when Prudence Farrow locked herself into her room in meditation for 3 weeks in a near-catatonic state while she was on the same program under Maharishi. The others in the camp started to worry about her, and they sang to her to coax her out of her room. When she came out, she didn't even recognize her own brother at first. At the end of the demo version of this song, John says something like, "no one knew that she would go completely mad under the instruction of Maharishi".

  • Hey it's the bassplayer from Letterman's band!

  • AWESOME........FAB FAUX RULE!!!

  • This is a VERY good cover. I wish the Beatles would have played this one live. It's such a beautiful song.

  • One more thing...the Rickenbacker RULES!!!

  • Beautiful song! These guys are AWESOME!!! Great job on the song. I'd like to see these guys live. Thank you very much for sharing.

  • god, i love 'dear prudence' love, love, love.

  • note for note is what the fab faux do. they even recreated paul's shitty drumming on this song :-D

  • If you haven't seen them live, GO!

  • Well said gtrmu....They are the best act anywhere that does Beatle music.

  • You guys are do a great cover of this all time classic song. I'm impressed!

  • Please stop with the negative comments on this video. If you people have a disagreement take it to e-mail or something, but not here!

  • Let me clear this up. They are NOT a tribute band in the sense of a proper tribute band. 1964 is a tribute band. Rain is a tribute band. The Fab Four is a tribute band. These guys are NOT. A tribute band dresses like them, talks like them, etc. This is a tribute to the MUSIC, not the beatles as people. Hope it clears everything up.

  • The Beatles, like many other bands who recorded complex renditions in the studio, found that they couldn't replicate the sound on tour (live). These guys do a wonderful job of recreating the album sound LIVE. Hats off to them.

  • It helped that after 1965 they were so friggin' popular they didn't need to tour. Most every other band had to tour to promote their album and otherwise make money to stay afloat. The Beatles had the luxury of being able to record in studio and not worry about touring.

  • hey i was at that concert, uhh cransford was it??

  • Yup, good show huh?

  • It's really a very good version. I like the way how this band respects this wonderful peace. Thanks

  • Hey, this is great. And I know what I say, I'm a beatles fan to the bones since 64.

    Thanks for sharing,

    Love and Peace

  • great

  • hey is that jimmy vivino from conan on the right ??

  • Yep, and next to him is Will Lee from Letterman.

  • That's Will Lee on bass he's the bassist on David Letterman show. He's a great singer and damn good bass player who's part of the best beatles tribute band ever!

  • an excelent job, great bass and voice, where are you from?

  • I searched dear prudence

  • WOW! Great rendition of a great song! Loved it! Please post more!

  • Sorry thought the name said brendan not brenda. I put up the whole show on here. How did you find this video by the way?

  • Sorry took so long, I believe I found it on the most recent page when you uploaded it.

  • Thought it was great. A great song from the Fab 4. Prudence Farrow, eh?

  • Yeah, Mia's sister.
