  • Show people how to make it and install correct drivers. We all already know how the theory of wireless works thanks to Marconi and Tesla. If you want more views show people how to make the cantenna. Lecture gets boring especially for IT people who already know all this.;)

  • please clarify. If both the length of the antenna on the inside of the can, and the distance from the bottom of the can and the antenna on the inside are 1/4 of the wavelength, shouldnt they be the same measurement? She says the length of the antenna is 1.22 (1/4) the wavelenth and then says the distance from the bottom of the can is 1.8 something (also stating it is 1/4).

    Are there two wavelengths to consider? please explain, thanks.

  • for the people that can't figure out how to make this, there is this amazing web site called GOOGLE!!!!!!!

    Just put the word cantenna into it and you'll find something.

    Many cantennas sites will have a little java thing that will figure out how long the can should be for it's diameter.

    I prefer the parabolic type of reflector like the "wind surfer".

  • I couldn't tell if she was reading off a teleprompter or not, but regardless, she was talking kinda fast for me to understand everything. A few more times of watching this video and maybe some note-taking, and hopefully I'll understand everything better. I like the fact that she explained the physics and how the cantenna works. I'm sure there's a ton of videos out there that show people step-by-step how to make a cantenna.

  • she did, work out the wavelength of the middle frequency of the band you use, then find a can that matches the dimensions, it's no brainer,

    also need to look up how to best make and fit the feeding element

  • well, actually she did.. the thing is, you have to get a container where one side is closed, size around 4.8 inch in diameter. length should be around 1 and half of the wavelength and your receiving end should be around half of a wavelength. oh well, i guess physics lessons do help after all..

  • That was extremely helpful explaining how it works but it didn't really show how to make it. It would help to includes a link to a video showing you the actual construction of the device. There are so many out there and I'm not sure which model is the best.
