  • good advice

  • nice hat

  • The way I did it was to keep making stories and talking to myself in my head. So when I do an action like moving a cup onto the table, I will say what I'm doing in my target language, but in my head. I'll keep doing it until it becomes automatic to say everything. "This is a cat, the cat is big, and he hasn't moved for 2 minutes".

    .

In addition, I will block out English and if I don't know a word, I will use many words to describe and then ask someone how to say english X in target language

  • Great video Moses. I've been at Japanese every day for the past 10 months or so. I understand a LOT and can read a lot...but my output is just horrible. I know a lot of the intermediate grammar if I read it, but outputting is just next to absolute 0. How can I, this far in, understand quite a bit in both written and spoken Japanese, but can't produce hardly anything? Is that an issue? Do I just need more time?

  • da language master! i swear you should learn the piano. its language too! TRASH!

  • Haha! Man, if I go back to instruments, I will definitely play the drums again.

  • Exactly!

  • one word to describe you:

    Incredible.

  • hey bro thanx for makeing this vidoe its a grate topic because thats exgaly how i was learing and talking to some of my frinds i would allways think of what i wanted to say in english and it will jog my brain of whats it in urdu

  • No problem man.

  • Do you think translate from TL to NL and vice versa is a good input process? Sorry if you already answered it in this video, I can't actually watch it until I get home^^

  • This is going to sound odd but I really like the way you blink. :3

  • hahahahaha!

  • so just use what you learned and don't try to construct too many of your own sentences? this video is very confusing to me. you're clearly fluent in chinese --- when you think about what you're going to say in chinese you just think in chinese right? you dream in chinese sometimes too, right? is this a result of many hours of reading, listening, studying etc to chinese that you now think in chinese?

  • Sorry for making you confused. I guess I should've mentioned also that after time you will start thinking in the targeted language. I'm mainly giving advice to beginners here.
