  • this guy taught bruce lee nunchaku :)

  • i wish my nunchaku can make that sound

  • nunchaku, not "nunchucks".

  • me gusta Nunchaku pero ain que tener una base digo yo no se

  • he taught bruce lee about nunchucks

  • is this nanchucks or the filipino chako? i believe dan trained in the chako from arnis, not nunchucks right?

  • @nenabunena Nunchaku-Japanese, Leung Tiu Kwan-Chinese were an Okinawan tool used to thresh rice or soybeans (separate the grain from the husk). It is used as a weapon iin response to the moratorium on edged weaponry under the Satsuma daimyo after invading Okinawa in the 17th century. It can be called a flail in English.

  • @sifupr Thank you,intruging to know that!

  • you could kill someone with a pair of chuks right?

  • @FunkKlock Blunt trauma to certain parts of the head (i.e., especially the temples) can permanently disable.

  • FASTER THAN BULLET

  • Was always into the martial arts when i was younger.practiced the chucks abit.alotta fun till you whack yourself a few times.the choke @1:41 is super deadly.place a set around the back of your neck and apply just a little pressure, instant pain/blackout feeling

  • Dan's version of the Nunchaku is done using kali techniques.

  • this looks sped up to me

  • You are correct sir. It was Guro Dan who ,in his words "introduced" them to Sigung Bruce. Not the other way around. However, he did say the Sigung took them to another level. In 30+ yrs with him I have never seem him use them. They are not as primary as other weapons in the 12 caterories of FMA.

  • If the FBI had paid Bruce, Chuck and Dan to walk the streets disguised as ordinary weak ass civilians there might only be around 10% of American muggers still alive today......

  • Check facts with those who know for sure. It was Mr. Inosanto who taught nunchakus to Mr. Lee. They were friends and learned from each other.

  • Comment removed

  • @jbel867 Bruce Lee learned to use them in China, when he was learning Wing Chun. He actually taught Inosanto the use of various weapons.

  • @synthpathetic Hello, I dont teach Martial Arts any more, however the truth is there isnt one, this now a old super 8 film if you can get the complete film of this they should have on DVD now days will be good start and perhaps after 30 years like most Martial Artists you may come to understand is that all you want was in this sort film of basics about few weapons?, you decide, open your mind and don't limit your self. With respect

  • The 3 who disliked this were the demonstrators getting hit.

  • Opps, what I meant was that I have always loved Dan Inosanto.

  • I have loved him.

  • Dan is good, but Bruce Lee is better.

  • Man if I was him my balls would be dust. I would mess up on the first swing lol

  • I guess Inosanto was more skilled as Lee if it comes to Nunchakus.

  • Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto - two great masters.

  • @synthpathetic

probably one made with u so u could watch ur moves and learn what and where should u improve accuracy timing and speed...other than that play with ur nunchaku a lot and dont get discouraged by mistakes (im talkin bout the mistakes when u will hit urself...a lot)...

and one more fun tip...get a rubber nunchaku and couple of friends with helmets and let them charge u...and see what happens...when they will become reluctant to have a go at u then let them have sticks...and so on..

  • Лучшее . . .

  • he is a true master with wepons and body awsome to see and this awsome way back then.and many more move than the normal genric stuff best to him always .and he's a awsome speeker of history of and of martial arts no doubt i love to her him when i can rickyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • These weapons can be used with your hand to hand skills. For instance, while he looks at the weapons you can deliver a powerful kick to the leg then strike with the weapon and vice versa. Jab with the weapons, us it like a boxer and kick boxer would strike. Low strikes are the kicks, high strikes are the punches. Also, it can be used to choke an opponent.

  • I'm proud to be a filipino, dan inosanto was a the chief instructor of jkd, isnt that great?

  • Dan Inosanto: "How do you like that?"

Bruce Lee: "How do you like that?"

  • not nunchaka. tabak tayok.

it's actually a common tool found in villages throughout southeast asia used on loads of rice during processing.

  • @djptm2020 I think any name would be valid. It's just "nunchaku" is more common and especially western people know what one is talking about, right? I mean, threshing flails were a common tool all over Europe and Asia. Oh, and short typo: it's 'toyok' not 'tayok'.

  • dan inosanto is the man!

  • You could fuck someone up with that

  • Это оно.

  • i would have slapped the whiteboy shit out of myself

  • @cssst10 then told his ass to make a mayo sandwhich :D

  • looks so easy, but its not

  • They make practice sets. I recommend starting with those unless you want a bunch of knots on your head.

  • Jerry Poteet? This video made before Bruce made anything? Dynamite movement and def. looks like entire implementation into the CC, WOTD, ETD, and all you Dan TGOD, Bruces fastest shuffle forward being expressed with that green stick, bad ass move!

  • Pinoy pride!

He was the one who taught Bruce Lee nanchaku!

  • @deadlycantor28 LOL where the fuck did you get that idiotic statement?

  • @artsofkungfu

Dan did teach Lee Kenpo and Kali styles as he was already Black belt in them when he met Lee but sure as shit Lee already knew the nunchaku. Dan was just better with them.

  • @deadlycantor28

    tabok tayok not nunchaka

  • holyshit im really impressed with the 2 nunchucks

  • HOLEEEEE SHHHHW#@(&(@!

DAN was NASTY with those things!!

  • Contrary to what some people might think, a nunchaku is not a 'horribly difficult' weapon to understand. The one problem I see a lot of people run into when they first start to use them is that their hands are doing the movement and not the body. With nunchakus you have to use the core of your body as a pivot, and for me, the direction and energy comes from the elbows, not the hands.

  • A Yo, looks good for this movies but no thanks, I'll "stick" with Gun-Fu. peace!

  • i would like to see someone edit out the nunchaks and just watch him dance LOL

  • lmao i tried perfecting nun chuks, its not like ping pong or biking it really fuckin hurts, youll be left with no penis, knee caps, shoulders, kidneys and your head will be like a mashed potatoe

  • this looks like the stunt preparation for Return of the Dragon. This is the fight choreograghy.

  • I luv that noise :)

  • i wonder how many times ya gotto crack yourself in the fuckin melon with those before you can swing em around like him!

  • @sm0kd0g lol

  • @sm0kd0g you lose count after the first ten cause by then u got a small concussion, but in the end, its all worth it, beleive me.

  • I would love to meet him to learn Eskrima from him.

  • Bruce Lee learnt off this guy! he was the original nunchacker master and bruce lee was so impressed by him that he wanted to learn off him. In the end, bruce lee was determined to be better than him and like always bruce looked ace when he did his version of the nunchakers.

  • of course bruce lee will always look better coz he's the hero in the movie and not dan

  • He was the original he let Mr Lee use it to show the world.Thank him and thank you. Thai

  • the video is accelerated. shame on who edited this.

  • I think this is Jerry Poteet with Dan, can somebody confirm this? Maybe I'm wrong.

  • it's possible coz of the beard and grey hair

  • WTF is THIS??????

  • I have been reading a book and it says that he taught Bruce Lee how to use the Nunchaku, and Bruce mastered it in 3 days lol Its awesome

  • Dan Inosanto is a true Philippine martial arts master!!! Eskrima, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Jeet Kune-Do.... a master of the kali sticks and nunchaku!!! I'm a Chinese blood Filipino but not a Fil-Chi.... i just have Chinese blood.... proud 2 hav Lee Jun Fan and Dan Inosanto's blood!!! Practicing Taekwon-do now(Blue 1 - belt).... Long live the Middle Kingdom and the Republic of the Philippines!!!

  • bruce screams a lot

  • is guro inosanto using a 6 inch chain??

  • i think what guro danilo inosanto is demonstrating is the pilipino version : the tabak toyok...but he uses the okinawan nunchuk instead hmm nice asian combo..im a filipino but ill say HUMAN PRIDE...MABUHAY ANG TAO...

  • Spoken like someone who doesn't know

  • Also, JKD is a lifetime committment.

  • JKD is not only about expressing the body but, more importantly, taking pieces of all martial art forms and applying it as needed in the form of expression. The best style is the unknown style, and it is JKD that allows this unknown style to exist-having no method, no form, using pieces of all forms of martial arts and calling it your own - this is JKD.

    TBT

  • you guys are going against Bruce's teaching to Learn new things you progress if you dont have weaknesses learn all you can and take the best from each one or which ever move you like and add it to yourself . Jeet Kune do is about Expression and being open minded about learning new things.

  • Inosanto taught Lee how to use nunchakus so he is def better.

  • I H8 2 admit this but..................I think Danny Inosanto is....a....little better with the nunchakus that Bruce.............PILIPINO PRIDE

  • Filipino Pride ^__^

  • Yo, f**k all that! I'll stick to Gun-Fu. most efficient!

  • I still think Bruce should have fought him last instead of Karreem. Those were two bad as mofos.

  • i knew there was footage they took of their skills all this time. from methods of Bruce lee book there is more than 1000 photographs, there are 1000 hours of tootage as well.

  • That was really great!

  • Where did you get this video??? Insane! Notice near the end of the video, Guro is doing the Lacoste numbering system (1 -12) with the Nunchuku. Love That Kali!!!

  • RESPECT LEE INOSANTO!!

  • he is filipino. y would bruce lee kick hes ass?his bruce best friend and student, also dan inosanto teaches him sumthing.

  • he is filipino

  • so?

  • bruce wud kick inosanto any day..ur jus sayin it caz he is ur sisters godfather.

  • i cant believe ur comparing bruce lee to dan inosanto..lol der is no competition..inosanto is nuffin wid out his sticks..bruc was way to quick and power full..inosanto may have more experience now 30 years on but he is also too old nd aint as strong. bruce sidekicked ppl out of dis world, he broke boards at an ince..he created the unltimate fighting style..his style of fighting was all da best bits from other fighting styles all in one!! dont question bruce against inosanto..maybe da like of ali

  • danny is my sisters godfather and so u kno bruce did not use nunchucks before he met danny my dad trained with danny bruce and francis fong so to say that danny is not the truth or is no comparison is a ridiculous statement danny is much better with escrima but danny is a guru with nunchuk

  • no bruce lee learned him, bruce was his teacher

  • Thats not correct, man.

  • Thats right. BL learned form Dan Insosanto how to use Nunchaku and Stickfight (Kali).

  • bruce learned him bruce owns him

  • Yapp. In shortest time, Dan was topped by Bruce. Same to other "theachers" of Bruce Lee.

One guy (forgot his name), made a deal to Bruce. He said:"Teache me in Cha Cha Cha and i will teach you in *whatever, i forgot*."

In 2 Weeks, BL learned nearly everthing and was a better Fighter in this Martial Art, then his teacher. And btw. the other guy cant do Cha cha cha till today. :)

    (Seen in an interview)

  • that may be true in that day but if u take what dan inosanto knows now.. and put him up against bruce lee. with bruce lee knowing what he did then.. and dan would win

  • Bruce would still kick his ass. He was way to fast and in extremely good fighting condition.

  • no actually bruce lee was no faster then the average martial artist of now adays.. bruce only had a 42 mile an hour punch.. martial artists now get way in to the hight 60s and early 70s.. and u forget dan has had 30 some year of training added to what he knew back then while useing jeet kune do to improve himself.. dan would win hands down

  • Where are you getting those numbers from?

  • No Bruce was definitely faster then the martial artist of today. Thats bs the fastest punch is a wing chun punch. It was definitely believed that Bruce was the fastest. Are you kidding about Bruce not being faster than the average martial artist of today. I've seen some well trained martial artist and they all claim Bruce was definitely faster.

  • thats a bunch of bullshit bruce lees fastest punch was around 42 miles an hour the average martial artist of today can punch almost as fast not if faster then 42 mile an hour and no the fastest punch is not a wing chun punch the world record holder is a man from pekiti tersia and his punch is around 88 miles per hour

  • Please give me a link to this I cannot find it at all. Why is it that it is not a world record. From what I see is 43 something mph as the fastest punch. That was 3 months ago. Wing Chun is the fastest punch. It is a direct line punch. I am talking about second to reach the opponent. Bruce Lee from his hands at his side could punch someone and was clocked at .05 of a second. If all you did was train your punch you can punch fast. They had to film Bruce Lee in 32 fps to capture Bruce's movement

  • actually the world record is way faster then 42 or 43 miles per hour bruce lees atacking speed for 3 feet was 500thrs of a second which is only 42 mile an hour. oh and yeah with the cameras of the time every one had to be filmed at higher frames per second

  • oh and no wing chun doesnt have the fastest punch and neither does it have the most effective punch there are alot of guys who can punch faster and better then wing chun fighters in wing chun your simply punching the shortest distance that dont make it the fastest punch

  • You still haven't provided the links to this 88 mph punch. Also to the speed of Bruce Lee at 42 mph.

  • i didnt see it on line it was on documentaries and books. oh and yeah if u already stated that bruce lees attacking speed for 3 feet was 500ths of a second and if u do that math thats 42 miles per hour

  • Let's think about this if you have to travel further than it takes longer to get there. Let me tell you you remind me of all the others out there. Black belt in keyboard. Listen the average time it takes for a straight punch is .14 seconds. The average wing chun punch is .11 seconds. The wing chun punch is the fastest punch on average. You haven't met a lot of people that do wing chun. If you did then you would know that it is the fastest.

  • actually i have a black belt in kyukashin i also have a black belt in kendo and kali i have trained in jeet kune do and in wing chun i have plenty of friends who are experts in wing chun and they are not the fastest people out there a wing chun punch only travels a shorter distance hence it gets to its enemy first yet there are plenty of men from other styles of martial arts that can strike further distances in the same amount of time aswell as less time. where link to .14 and .11

  • They are actually in the book My life with Wing Chun by William Cheung. It was proven scientifically that the Wing Chun punch travels the shortest distant. as well as those times. Well most of your friends must suck at Wing Chun. Cause just cause you know something doesn't make you good. Most of these so called wing chun fighters suck. A lot of them don't know how to fight. Bunch of schools don't teach how to deal with take downs and stuff. Your friends must not train hard.

  • you seriously are an idiot arnt u. i already said that a wing chun punch travels a shorter distance. but is not the same thing as being the fastest oh and yeah all of my friends were trained in authentic wing chun and train in wc aswell as isometrics calisthetics and weight training 7 days a week on average 4 to 5 hours a day. so they know how to fight . and i dont care what some book by william cheung says there has never been an actual scientific test done to prove wc has the fastest punch

  • Fastest all depends on how you look at it though. Say for instance we accept the .11s and .14s times as valid. You would be correct in saying my punch makes it to the target first with the Wing Chun style, so you have a legitimate argument that that style of punch is fastest. However if I were to take a longer route but hit the person at 50 mph but it takes .14s to get there I also have an argument that my punch is fastest. Considering Kinetic energy's has a square relation to velocity it is big

  • OH and yeah if wing chun is so bad ass why do u see wing chun fighters get there ass handed to them in fights all the time

  • So many "if"s :)

  • he tought bruce lee how to use nanchaku right? bruce lee liked the filipino version.
