we have irish pubs in canada they also have the best drinking songs i have ever heard lol god bless irland i also pray for peace between the irish and the english cuz some english people seem to not like the irish i met some english people who dont like the irish i have no idea why i live with irish people
@MrArchuleta89ful In England the Irish were once treated like dogs! Indeed in America too when the Irish first began to emigrate but thankfully thats not the case anymore! I only wish i could say the same for the English! I was in England a few months ago and we passed this pub that had a sign outside saying 'No blacks, no dogs, no Irish.' They had us classed lower than dogs! Thats the English though, only got room in their hearts for themselves!
A few months ago you say? Me fucking hole.... maybe in 1950 or even 1960 but certainly not now. 54 million people in England 8M of anglo/irish descent, like myself, if you don't like the english then thats your business but don't fucking make shit up like that because any Irishman or indeed Englishman knows you are in fact talking absoute lies and shite...
@ExplorerBrock Every country has its own narrow minded fools, but to tar the whole of England with the same brush is lowering yourself to the same level of idiocy displayed by those who were prejudiced to the Irish. In general, there never has been any real oppression of the Irish by the English. The oppression came from the English government, and the English people arguably suffered just as much as our Gaelic brothers did.
To illustrate how not to play this song you should go to Streets of London by Tim He appears to be a little sensitive to comments. Perhaps he may find your observations more agreeable than mine?
I agree. Better than McTell and a lot more fun! The Irish sing McTell's 'From Clare to Here' much better as well. After all, Clare County is Irish. Cheers! Have a pint on me!

that was an unfortunate choice of a map of Ireland to use at the start. Although N Ireland is part of Britain it is Ireland too you know! Ie I am from Northern Ireland and have an Irish passport, you can choose what you feel you nationality is!!!
love it

Funny how there's almost a joint effort not to say the word 'London' aside from a few stragglers!

As someone born in dirty ol' London I think this version is great. Would love to visit this pub one day, looks just like a good pub should be.

He's voice is quite good. Very much like an irish
version of Mark Knopfler, nothing wrong with that.

There seems to be an Irish obsession with this English song.
