No we can't go to 15 rounds nor same day weigh in because it is dangerous to boxers health, same day weigh in means fighters would go into fight not full hydrated, this can have very bad for the boxers, it's not safe, we cannot go back we need to look foward, I don't have the answer but I do not going back won't help the sport, I was wondering why the The Contender stopped showing after 3 seasons but Ultimate fighter is still going on, such an exciting show, we need this back for boxing.,
Boxing can`t be compare to MMA , because the rules of fighting are different but retards are still comparing, a true mma fighter is a boxing fan. Boxing needs to improve the promotion, Marketing needs to be change, they are targeting old people insteed of young, UFC is targeting the young thats why they are succesful, WWE still exist because the market target is the kids.
MMA in my opinion, its a baby sports growing up for the worst or the best. What people love of mma is that it regroup all combat sports in one places. But the negative side of mma is that its killing all the concepts of true martial arts. Most of the MMA fighters are bunch of guys in steroiids with some wrestling experience, there are few with true skills. The MMA needs to add more skillful fighters, its too easy to predict the results of the fight, there is no competition. Now about Boxing...
boxing his dying because people are compararing the mma sport with boxing, and they keep saying a mma fighter is stronger than a boxer, lol bunch of retards , both combat sports are uncomparable, its like saying basketball is better than soccer. And just to make the situation worst james tooney starts mma lol, he doesnt even have experience in wrestling. Now the retards are saying that pro boxers got themself whooop there ass by mma figthers, so mma its better...not true. MMA in my opinion ....
In my eyes boxing has dropped since MMA hit big. There's just no excitement in boxing no more .. All the exciting boxers have died off :( .. My heart lies with UFC and i think it will stay that way.. A good boxing fight is on once every blue moon were as UFC delivers monstress exciting fights all the time.
HBO and Showtime are destroying boxing too... how many time does juan diaz have to lose to get the boot from HBO boxing. No same day weigh-ins thought...only a non-fighter would even say some B/S like that.
Yeah man I agree with everything except the same day weigh ins. Boxing definitely needs changes. There are all the resources we just do not use them. Just Imagine If all the best guys fought Eech other. Klitshkos vs Haye, Mayweather vs Pacquiao, Gamboa vs Lopez, Bradley vs Alexander..............
I think the one think which will make all the difference is the best fighting the best in their prime. Not fighting for money. Let it always be 50/50 on the money. Its become too focused on whose making the most money.
Smitty boxing has destoyed its self by making so many weight divisions and all the alphabet soups. Also all the promoters ,corruptions, guys like Margarito, bad decisions in championship fights and heavier boxing gloves have hurt boxing. People don't know who the champoins are not even hardcore fight fans like myself can't name all the world champs and titles out there. I really hope boxing cleans house but I don't like the 15 round fights back.
I dont think we need to go 15 rounds...but i do think the best should be fighting the best on a regular basis! Im a boxing fan and a MMA fan...and the reason the UFC is growing at a rapid rate is because the organisation puts on great cards and the best fighters are facing eachother at the top of their game (for the most part). Boxing fans deserve more. More importantly the fighters themselves need to stop fighting for just the cash....and be prepared to fight for the pride of being a champion.
Boxing needs changes but not going back to what we did before. We need punchers, KO's - that is what the public wants to see. A format that would award the aggressor, who was looking at a KO more than a boxer who goes backwards for 12 rounds missing punches and tapping out scoring punches.Fights where either fighter could win with that one punch keep fans on the edge of their seats, not great skillful displays. The problem is the people who run it want to keep control and don't want it evolving.
