thanks nagantman. i own a p32 also and the nail guiderod mod works great. i find it to be a fantastic little gun. i enjoy all of your videos as well. :)
@threelittleniglets My understanding is that the slide does lock back on the P32, as shown in the video. The P3AT (.380) is the one that does not lock back.
Nice little pistols I agree I own four of them and one is my CC pistol. The frames are actually aluminum and the grips are plastic. Slide is 4140 carbon, but they do have an aluminum frame, so many think it's plastic. Just letting you know. You can go to their sight and it'll tell you all about the construction and materials used. The new ones may have a polymer frame but the first gens have aluminum.
All I have to say is I love your gunsmithmanship! The best type of engineering occurs with limited supplies and simple mechanics, thanks for showing it, I will do the same if I am able to purchase this pistol.
You replaced the original guide-rod with a nail and we wonder how this has worked out for you this past year.Did you fire it another hundred? I heard that the original was made of zytel because the slide needed to have some flex. A followup would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the close-up shots and the great audio. Very well done.
@mexricebowl I have a .38 Taurus Ultralight Model 85 in .38 Caliber. It's a small stub nose revolver with 5 shots, and it kicks like a mother. My Mom was 'Forced' to go to the range and learn how to shoot it, and the first shot she nearly fell on her ars not expecting that recoil. It's not super bad, but for somebody with a small frame like yours it won't be fun to shoot. Looking into a Carry gun, the Revolover I have is my first choice, but looking for something with more shots.
great video. the manual from kel tec does not state that the hammer must be cocked to install the slide back far enough on the frame to insert the assembly pin. You might want to add that to you video. I struggled with that for about 15 mins before I looked up videos and found yours. Yours is the best yet for the P32!!
My P32 is always with me. I have several pistols (of course one is an 1895 Nagant!) but the Kel-Tec always is the one that finds its way into my pocket in its comfy Uncle Mike's holster.

Very clever, using a nail. These are rather inexpensive too.

what would say is a better gun for a first time user (woman) Kel-tec p32 or a revolver
a small revolver like a 38 special/ i'm only 5'3

@mexricebowl
Get the largest caliber in the most comfortable gun for you.
1 Comfort (can you control it?)
2 Quality (does it fire reliably?)
3 Concealment (can you put it in a pocket or purse?)
The smaller the gun...the bigger the kick. (usually)
There are many good choices out there...rent/borrow some to shoot and have fun making a choice.
:-)

A very good and informative review of this pistol. Thanks for the field-stripping lesson, and for the nail/guide rod advice.

Best straight forward Kel-Tec review yet. By the way I have a first gen P3AT that shoots and functions great regardless of what many people claim.

I am buying a Kel-tec P32 this weekend. It should be easier to conceal-carry than my E. German Makarov.
