  • Still thinking of you shumie.

  • sad man....

  • Not that long after this there was an Iowa State student that also disappeared and drowned. His name was Abel Bolanos and was also from the Chicago area.

  • i played soccer with paul in AYSO for a few years. it was fun. he even scored on me (i was the goaile) when he was on the same team. he was a fun dude. wish i knew him to the fullest. i would've whipped out my bass and had a jam session with him. well, if theres anybody that would like to contact me, get a hold of me at my facebook or myspace page just look up my name Marc Urschel and it'll work. miss the piss out of you paul. hope the family is doing better.

  • God that is so sad. I wish that he would have known he wasn't alone & reached out for help.

  • I met Paul's father this weekend... I lost my Dad to suicide when I was 14. Paul looks like he was a very talented young man who was loved by many... I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • mes condoléances.....un si beau garçon!!

  • i'm so sorry.

  • damn shame

  • Shumie, you used to borrow my guitar during class. ...why should something like this happen to you?

  • My school... my friends... I gamed with them. Man..

  • what ?? he is sooo cute.. he shouldnt have killed himself (if he did) :( aww if he saw this he would have been sooo happy...

  • theres a reason for everything. im glad you shared this video thanks

  • Did he know something about death that we don't? Was he escaping something he didn't want to face? Was he driven by an inner force? Why?

  • my hert really goes out to him and all his family and frends ,.. its sooo sad it made me cry

  • Terrible.

    :(

    RIP.

  • oh shi t i didnt notice it was something so serious sorry i posted that comment at the beggining so what happend to paul did you guys find him?

  • just found this video by chance whilst browsing on here and i'm really saddened by it,i send my condolences to his family and friends, such a lovely young man ,what a tragedy..lets hope paul has found a better place.....

  • i live in grinnell, it took a long time because he cut a slit in a pools liner and got in that way. no one would look in their pool during the winter season. i feel deeply saddened for the event. the whole time he was missing the story touched me. college students do this all the time. but it usually is in their dorms so its not a long mystery. hopefully he found peace. R.I.P.

  • There was no foul play. He had researched the type of suicide he committed. When you add up all the pieces it makes sense. But it never will truly make sense...It's terrible that he's gone. Sometimes sadness and darkness is to strong to come back from. Forever thinking of you Paul...May you never be forgotten...

  • omg this is sad =(

  • Im really confused...How did it take over 6+ months to find him?... Some atricles say he did it the night he left which is a long time to be dead in a pool so close to the school. I think there has to be some type of foul play in all of this. I can not accept suicide.

  • definately no foul play. they said they could tell the duct tape was self applied to his wrists and ankles, and he drown himself in the pool it still had a little water in it. a few feet. i wish i knew him so maybe i could have been the friend he needed.

  • :(

  • why you guys in the toilet?

  • because bathrooms have the best acoustics

  • Our family sends condolences to your family - the Bowman Martins (Northsiders)

  • I just want to say to Paul's family and friends that I am deeply sorry for your loss. It seems like he was a great guy and very talented. What a horrible end to a beautiful soul. May you all find comfort and closure to this deep wound in your hearts. I didn't know you Paul, but I've seen in my dreams and I'm sorry things had to come to this...Blessed Be

  • I hope somehow that Steve and the family found and felt the love of others, whether fellow triathletes or empathetic complete strangers, over the course of what has been an awful wait.

  • I can't say I was surprised to hear the news earlier today, but it still deeply saddened me. R.I.P.

  • why didn't it surprise you? i believed he was alive.

  • I hadn't totally given up hope. I had really really hoped he was alive. The optimism of alot of people almost had me convinced. I guess I've just become too accustomed to tragedies like this though...

  • If only wishes could come true. So much living in such a short life. Our prayers are with his family and friends.

  • I'm really sorry to hear about Paul.

  • I have been following the story of Paul Shuman-Moore since September when he went missing. Yesterday when they said they found a body my heart dropped for family and friends assuming that it was his. Just a little while ago I saw that it was deffinately him. I just want to tell his family and friends that I am sorry that things ended this way. I will praying for all.

  • Paul Has been found dead.

  • Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that Paul's body was found in that swimming pool. Rest in peace, Shumie.

  • All of us in Grinnell are deeply saddend by the recent discovery of pauls body here in town and my prayers are with you.

  • I am so, soo saddened to hear that it was Paul in that pool. I didn't know him, but just the hearing the tragedy of a fellow Iowan of my age is heartbreaking. I've been praying he was okay and just took off to get away for awhile. My thoughts are with his family. :`-(

  • I've been following this story since last fall. It really touched me as I'm a mother and can't imagine what this family has gone through! I'm praying for this family and Paul and his friends right now. I thought of Paul immediately when I heard a body had been found in a covered Grinnell swimming pool. You're all in my thoughts and prayers as we wait to hear if Paul has been found. I hope you all find the answers you need to get through this tragedy. ~An Iowa Mother who cares

  • Testament to the fierce love of friendship. And the beauty of a soul. Paul's. And Even's. And Tim's. Keeping vigil with all of you, and all who love you.

  • This is the best report/video/anything about Paul I've seen. It was hard for me to watch. Having his face postered around campus was eerie. I feel like I barely knew him but I miss him, a lot us do.

Also, you guys sounded awesome in that staircase.

  • Paul, your friends care about you. give them a call.

  • Love to you and yours, hope you are still there. Great music, wish I could help! Good luck and take care!

  • that's an awful thing to post... get a life. If You are Paul, doubt that is how you would respond.

Whats happening to the world? People just suck. Kep the hope alive for Paul!

  • That's a great idea for a concert, but our bathrooms are so nasty... I hope he's okay! We lost a good friend at our school as well, but he ran away.

  • I will pray for Paul tonight, and post this somewhere.
