People learn to sit in the back as children when they're at church or school, so that they can talk and goof off without getting in trouble. It must carry into the monasteries. ;)
I am from Sri Lanka, My favourit monk, I follow his teachings. He is a great humanbeing tobe like this. He is a wisest person, I admire his teachings, its helpful for this birth and next birth. I admire his sense of humour too it makes to release good hormones to the whole body.
I'm so glad these videos are here as I'm just getting into Buddhism and I'm trying to learn as much as possible about it. Anyone know of any other similar buddhist youtube channels that would be helpful?
Ive been watching this mans videos since the beginning of this year and I find solace in his words. Theres something so soothing in his style and tone, it balances me when im in times of great unbalance. : ) I have nothing but gratitude for these videos.. Thank you!
A Theravada Buddhist Monk who talks to us in a way that ordinary people like myself who have not been brought up in an Asian Buddhist Culture can relate to. A very funny and happy teacher, and a good teacher by example, for me anyway. Thank you Ajahn Brahm. _/\_
If you are angry at yourself this means you are angry for something you did in the past. Buddhism teaches to live in the present, you can be more present by meditating regularly. Also buddhism teaches rightful thinking. Be realistic and rational and you will see that your mistakes in the past arent worth being depressed for the rest of your life
@mainmanmoose your words very right...i used to hold on my past, coz i dont know how to let go,i just didnt know until i know buddhism ! thanks a lot to ajahn brahm and all buddism teacher
@mainmanmoose thats not Budhism, Buddha teaches that the world is a illusion, the illusion would also include the past and your anger, there is no past, there is only the precent, it would be impossible not to be in the precent.
@satjathamma Buddha doesn't teach that the world is an illusion but that we live in a illusion, believing things to be different than what they truly are. (like believing the earth is flat when it isn't, which would cause many problems. Same thing but with illusions about ourselves...)
Also when people say they live in the past, they don't mean this literally, they just mean they are lost in their thoughts instead of being mindfully present (thinking about the past or not...)
I think sadu means 'thank you teacher' but i just searched google, and i now think it means simply 'yogi' or 'teacher' - somebody correct me if im wrong.
They did not say that the world would end people have interpreted that way. a lot of intelligent people would rather die before they kill another human being, people that lived in ancient civilizations were smarter than what we are today and their wisdom is unmatched in our generations.
Thank you BSOWA for posting the wonderful videos and thank you to all the monks who share the teachings of the Buddha. A warm hello from the Puget Sound.
then maybe i should kick your bum right now lol
