@scringe1 — I had read somewhere that Eddie Allen modeled his Desslok on Roddy McDowell's Octavian from the 1963 movie Cleopatra. There are a number of noticeable parallels in the two performances.

@bellefeu or Krypt from the Iscandar episodes. I liked krypt's comments before he was shot....the argo is airborne again!! Desslok called the argo a ghost ship and ordered all missiles to fire. Krypt is frightened...leader desslok, you said it yourself. it is as if we've been fighting a ghost ship. How can 1 old earth battleship defeat all of gamillon? We are dealing with a force that we don't understand. Let us stop fighting them before they destroy us!!!!. Desslok shot him on the spot.

Dire and Invidia landed themselves in the doghouse. I'm a bit surprised Zordar did not execute them on the spot. Desslock shot officers like Garrat without hesitation just for screwing up, never mind premeditated deceit.

I was eight and nine years old when Star Blazers was first introduced to the United States and it made a very lasting impression on me. Thanks to IrmasMan1, I am watching these episodes again for the first time in more than 25 years. My appreciation and thanks goes out to you, IrmasMan1, for reintroducing me to one of my favorite parts of my youth and providing me the opportunity to come here and stay connected with it.

@carpenterp1 You have an inkeling of how totally STOKED I was upon finding Gigantor on at 5 in the morning about 8 yrs ago. I hade not seen it for nearly 38 years. I was there when Gigantor(the first, the original the archa-type from which sprang all other Japanes giant robots!), Astro-Boy, Speed Racer, Marine Boy and British import Thunderbirds were first seen in these United States. I have been reliving my childhood for the past ten+years!
