This may have been a result of her not knowing that she could have started her own publishing company back then. Now-a-days if a publisher only wants to pay you a percentage of your half of the publishing, then they are trying to rip you off. Publishing should always be a 50-50 deal. I would imagine she mad gobs of money from her part of the radio royalties; which no publisher can touch. Just to add to the confusion: I disagree about this being the same version as is on her album.
However, it MIGHT be that version with extra stuff dubbed on. The guitar solo here is certainly NOT on the version I have. The vocals sound different, but that could be down to production at the dubbing stage.

Harrison of The Beatles. His percentage for any of his songs was less than 1%. I wouldn't want that deal; even if it meant getting a song out there.

I really like Ruthann's demo; I sure wish the album version had the vocal harmony at the end of the song - to me, it makes a big difference!

Very folksy, more soothing compared to the Association's version, which was more light pop.
reminds me of James Taylor and Peter, Paul and Mary.
