  • Red & black, the colors of a true CBR.

  • u don't need to remove any fairing on the bike to change the oil !!

  • @cbr600rider2 I do it both ways. It's a bike more cumbersome with the fairing on. Since I switch to the K&N filter I don't have so much problems. I have literally over 5 oil filter wrenches & none of them fit the factory Honda filter snugged. So working around the fairing made it more troublesome.

  • what year is this bike?

  • @SOCal99gsT 2008. The last good year for this bike. They need to upgrade this bike badly. I wouldn't get a new if they offered it for half the price. Honda still has that unmatched quality but it's time for a new design, more power & a slipper clutch.

  • @Wormanatti Agreed

  • @Wormanatti I’m getting ready to move up from 250 to this bike idk if it will be the 08 or 2012 is the 2012 really that bad i test rode and loved it

  • @MrKawi250rider I'm getting the 2012 Cbr 1000rr if I get the money. I don't want to sell this bike so I really need to have more work or hit a nice lotto winning. After I pay some bills the 1000 would be my next purchase. Ride on Ride safe.

  • nice bike do you have a driving video?

  • @outdoorsman310 Nope. Brought a camera this year. I went out one day with my boy to make a video. Go in the turn & whoop! Camera was rolling down the street. So many pieces I couldn't even find the memory card.

  • FRESH TO DEATH

  • @2WheelsOn Thanks! Love the comment.

  • wish they woulda done an orange lower on my 08 orange/black with a darker mid fairing... this scheme is so tight.

  • Hey I really enjoyed the video. Hell I need to change my oil like yesterday!

  • great vid man wish i lived near u. riders that know what theyre doin r hard to find around here

  • ey yo that bike is a BEAST!

  • @submissions72 Thanks man I appreciate the comment.

  • You should do a video of you actually changing the oil step by step. Nice Bike

  • Great vid man. Where did you get the tape on your wheels? That looks awesome

  • @jpguy14 At Pep boys around $9 or so. They have many colors too. It takes about 20 minutes to do a wheel. Take your time. I've seen some hack jobs on other guys bikes.

  • Great looking bike man, and cool video. Nice pointers for sure. I just traded in my honda 919 for an 04 cbr600rr. Got to say im excited. anyway i love that colors of your bike, Did you put the strip around the wheels your self? Im thinking about doing that for sure. Ride safe buddy

  • @wagner03mustang Yeah I did the stripe myself. It was super easy. All you need is a friend to roll the bike as you go. Take your time & find the line you want to keep. I've seen some guys make a mess of their lines. Be sure to overlap atleast 1/8th of an inch.

  • All your CBR videos are off the hook. Nice red on the wheels. Most dudes make videos and they sound like they're reading the dealer pamphlet.

    NY-LA Connection, stay up man.

  • @Rayx702 Thanks man. I really appreciate your comment. One of my favs for sure.

  • Nice vid, although I am a fan of the literal walk through step by step still some good pointers were touched upon. You sound like you're from NY, if so which track do you go to? I'm from NY myself and I heard about this track in Jersey.

  • @MrJwilliams1979 NJMSP in Millville. But we are going to start going to the one in Monticello I believe it's in. My friends went there & they love it. When the open the whole track they have a 1 mile straight on it.. I tried my best on the walk thru. I was happy & nervous.

  • your bike is awesome bro!!!! im from brazil and i want to get one of those...

the cbr 600 is even nicer than the 1000!!!!

congratulations on the bike and good luck with it

  • good stuff man keep up helps me a lot !!

  • Your bike looked super awesome u should do 360 around.. U telling people out there don't be cheap!! I treat my bike like my baby too.

  • Your bike it awesome bro!!

  • @jcwrxturbo Thanks bro! I been getting alot of hate lately on one of my other videos.

  • On your next oil change try: Motul 300V Double Ester Synthetic Motor Oil (Green/Yellowish Oil). Your gear box will thank you.

  • @goosedizzel Never heard of that one. My last 2 oil changes I went with the Honda HP4 blend. I'll look up the Motul.

  • @Wormanatti I used to use that Honda HP4. It's the gold bottle I believe. I talked with someone that races and he said that oil is garbage and bad for the engine. I ride a GSXR though, so maybe the HP4 is better for your engine. Regardless you should check it out.

  • @goosedizzel Oh ok. I'll look into to it. I know the Honda's can't use oil with Moly in it. It will destroy the clutch. I got that direct from Honda. The HP4 is the best they have besides their race oil. I'm going to research tonight b/c I take care of my by bike. I have 7000 miles & I'm on to my 6th oil change. If I go hard or to the track I change the oil. I'm not trying to buy or rebuild a motor.

  • those rims stripes just make the bike pop out just that little bit extra.. Good choice on em.

  • Changing the oil yourself is just a messy job, and a very stinky one if you dont have a garage and somewhere to store the pan afterwards. I've done it a few times to see how its done but im just gonna pay someone to do it, i have a guy that charges next to nothing as is.

  • @Bulgdoom I do it 1,2,3. I rather save the 60 bucks they charge around my way. Besides it's nothing like having that relationship with your own machine.

  • @Wormanatti

Look around, this place wanted over $100 to change the oil on my ninja 250, yes over $100. I found a guy who charges me $35 total.

  • @Wormanatti finally...someone who understands the relationship between a man and his machine. I like seeing people take care of their bikes, kinda makes me smile actually lol.

  • @RockstarNorthLLC Thanks alot. It makes sense in all the world to take care of your bike. The slightest thing cause a major mishap when you don't go over & clean your bike.

  • 10k rpm is a walk in the park for that engine.

  • Yeah it is. Now that Im quite sure the motor has been broken in. I've tap into more of it's potential. I haven't pinned in top gear yet. Looking forward to it one day. The traffic is so thick at times out here. Every now & then we get a day when people decide not to rubberneck or waste gas knowing they have nowhere really to go. I really baby the bike so I'm sure the motor will hold up. I've done quite a few things to it since this video. Haven't had time to post.

  • i would have to be at a track to pin it in top gear im with ya there. i never go over the speed limit theres no need it just brings attention to the bike and give the cops a reason to pull you over. THe motor in the CBR will last thousands and thousands of miles tens of thousands. i think the vale adjust is every 15k thats good cuz its a pain. lol. be safe and have fun. David

  • I can't say I don't go fast honestly. Won't say I do either. It makes no sense for the goverment in one sense to allow manufacturers to make cars, bikes etc to have these triple digit vehicles. While many road speeds are 35 to 75mph. Let people do as they may or just restrict the darn things. It's pretty pointless to own a sportbike & not tap into some of it's potential. I would rather not own a bike if I'm not going to have fun on it. I know it's dangerous but just about every thing is today.

  • i was hoping you were going to show a video of you actually doing the whole oil change.

  • Oh sorry man. It's reallly really easy. They're videos of oil changes step by step on youtube. You can find our bikes being done.

  • your putting in semi NOT THE BEST!!!

buy 10w40 Repsol racing FULLY synthetic oil and a K&N

your half stepping ha just joking like your vids you put up some big number damn hella

  • @k9gsxr600 The Repsol is so dark. I don't like dark oil. I spoke to a years ago when I had a sup Camaro. He was explaining to me. He had a sup ride too. He told me dark is not good oil. It's usually not refine well. It stuck with me. I figure its the same in the bike industry. I use Spectrum Gold until I find another I guess. I'm thinking about going to a K&N oil filter. I have the air so might as well.

  • @Wormanatti

Dark oil is bad because you dont know when you have to change it. I change my oil when it gets contaminated (black), not based on miles. Oil doesnt go bad, only contaminated. The reason you have to change it more often on bikes is cuz of the wet clutches which are dipped into the engine oil, and the shavings contaminated it faster.

  • How many qts did you you 3 bottles?

  • @k9gsxr600 I use 3 & about 1/4 of a bottle with a couple small gobs of Lucas Oil. When you're using a high flow air filter it's been said that debri can scratch cylinder walls. I don't want to run the risk so I change my oil around 2000 miles. I figure since Lucas oil clings to metal it's less likely that will happen. Always use a brand filter to increase trapping ability also. Bikes are high reving machines so I like the idea of having my oil not breaking down so fast. Motors aren't cheap.

  • that's THE HONDA , THE BIKE

  • what brand is those Frame Sliders???

  • Not sure but the have the RR on them. I haven't seen them many places.

  • where did you get them frame sliders at?? how much was it?? in your opinion are the good sliders??

  • I brought them at a local shop. 130 installed I believe. They were no cut also which I prefer. They look like they are but I don't want to test the theory. I think from the feel & look Woodcraft may be the best. They look ugly but I believe they will grind down & not bend or snap like other brands may do.

  • Thats a nice bike man, nothin like a brand new spotless bike!

  • some sound advice. thanks.

  • whats the shift patern for hondas?

  • Hey man where do you get your repsol oil at?

  • All Honda cycle dealers should have it. I used to get it from a local dealer but I stop b/c the counter guy has a smart mouth & the oil is really dark anyways. I never trust or like dark oil. I now used Spectro Gold blend.

  • whats going on man? just wanted to see whats good. just rolled over 8,000 miles on mine. I used honda synthetic blend oil for my most recent oil change which was about 500 miles ago. It definitly made a difference. runs a bit cooler and a lot smoother. feels like it runs a little stronger up top too. I'm also about to flush the radiator which i think i will do tonight and make a vid. look for it soon if you are interested. very easy to do yourself in the garage. peace

  • Right Now Im using Spectro Gold blend. It's rated very well. I started out with the Honda oils but I don't like the guy at the Honda shop so I'm not buying there. I was just thinking about my radiator fluid today. Me & friend are going to use a product called engine ice I believe. Heat kills horsepower. Look forward to vid.

  • Yea I use A Red Line product called Watter Wetter. Its the same deal, makes the coolant absorb and dissipate more heat. I have used it since day one, use it in my truck too. The bike runs a good 10 degrees cooler on hot day.

  • make sure you use the right coolant. i used to honda coolant. they dont use sillicates in their coolant and the engine is designed for it. i dont know how important that is but you might want to look into it if youre not going to use the honda kinda.

  • Yeah I use it in my truck. It's red I believe. Pep Boys sells it around my way. They also have a antifreeze additive called Hyperlube too. Are you saying don't use the Honda coolant? Or make sure any other brand has sillicates? Your comment is confusing me. Read it again maybe its me though.

  • sorry, i worded that poorly. the honda coolant does not have sillicates. other brands typically do. the cooling system is designed for the honda coolant, without sillicates. its alot better for the internal parts such as the water pump. sillicates are hard on the bearings and seals and all that. i dont know how big of a deal it is, you should definitly ask someone at your local shop. the honda coolant is good stuff, i recommend it. vid should be up tonight. its loading now

  • Ok I'm going to read the label on my bottle. Thanks for the Info. Don't want to shortcut on the motor fluids as much as possible.

  • good vid bro, good work

  • No doubt. Get the CBR trust me. Just check the shootouts. The Gsxr has a nice look & may be a bit more in size. But performance & quality wise. It can't touch the 600rr.

  • No not really. The Repsol oil is so dark. I don't like that oil at all. I use the Lucas Stabil so basically it makes up for the lack of a lesser quality oil. I now use the Spectrum Gold. It's cleaner than the Repsol. I use the Honda when I can get it. The local Honda shop has a guy with a smart mouth there so I don't buy from them. If I'm out of town I'll get it sometimes.

  • Gas stations, Pep Boys, Auto Zone etc will take it.

  • Thx for the informative vid. What is a good brand of frame sliders? I just bought an 06 CBR600RR, Orange/Tribal paint, love it and was thinking about sliders. What do you think about swingarm sliders and bar ends? I think the swingarms are ugly and take too much away from the look. They look like pegs on a bicycle. What do you think?

  • Designer type sliders always look good but are usually none effective with needed. You a slider with a puck that will actually grind down. Vortex usually grinds good. Go for the plastic type not chrome etc. The ones I have are some for Honda. I agree about the rear spools. They look kinda ugly. I just put some on last week. They do have an odd look.

  • Ok hey thanx for the advice, hope to see some new footage up soon with some track riding or somethin. Burn rubber, not your soul ;P

  • Riding videos coming soon. I'm working some kinks out on my piece of junk camera. The Oregon Scientific 1000 is a poor performer. I'll post a video that came out pretty ok later. Look for it. Thanks

  • is the redlined rims stock??? howd you do that? professional or you just did it yourself

  • I did them myself. SUPER EASY!. I got the stripes from Pep Boys. They come in 4 or 5 different sizes. It's about 8 bucks for it. All you need is a buddy to hold the bike up straight & roll the bike as you need him too. Find you a line on the rim & follow it. I've seen guys JACK their line up. It should take about 20 minutes to do each rim. Make sure you over lap at the end atleast 1/4 of an inch. The line will harden in a day.

  • u buy the tape online or at a bike shop for 8 -15 dollars

  • Pep Boys.

  • You're wasting oil.

Oil is supposed to be changed between 5,000 and 7,000 miles.

    So some research.

  • My warranty is over & I don't have the extra cash to extend it b/c I have a new lil one coming in a month. I'll check out what you are saying but until then I'll play it safe. I don't have the money for a new motor. I don't believe most oil is as good as advertised. I could be wrong. Most my boys if not all change at 3000 miles. We kinda go over the speed at times so the motor deserves it.

  • Out of curiosity, what did the manufacturer of the bike recommend.

Usually the manual will tell you.

If it doesn't take much oil and it's inexpensive, then I would say do whatever.

    Nice bike by the way.

  • Every 8,000 miles. They bugging out! I wouldn't even think 8k no less 5k.

  • wow, that powder cote looks tight, love ur bike, man!!

  • All I got to say is wow impressive.

  • Thanks!

  • was your first bike a 600cc?

  • Actually a 250r Ninja that was stolen a week or so later. But that was like many years ago. It was like a 10 yr gap before I rode again. I got the CBR b/c the price was hot & found out it was a GREAT bike.

  • nice i just got my 600rr 3 days ago i got the silver and black one and i just put red pinstripes on the rims the red matches the cbr logos it has ....looks nice

  • Get them pics & videos up.

  • I like ur videos man and love that bike. Hoping to get one 600rr here in Argentina. Keep up the good work and ride safe.

  • Thanks! Great choice hope you get one.

  • what oil did u use? was it Fully synthetic (repsol racing) or semi ? , would u tell me the brand and specific type of stabilizer u use, please!. nice bike bro!

  • Repsol semi but I'm changing it b/c an internet friend on here told me that repsol is poop. I only brought b/c I see many Honda bikes on the circuit sponsered by Repsol. I prefer using the Honda factory oil. The repsol was kinda dark. I use Lucas oil stabilizer. The best on shelf to me. It's proven! I use it in everything I drive.

  • on the rim

  • I kid you not when I got one side done. I cracked one of those lifetime memorable smiles. I made my bike look so much better & I saved alot of money. I was thinking about powdercoating the lip or chrome rims.

  • the rims look fresh with that red stripe

  • I sure will. Thanks

  • Looks good. I painted that silver part where the rear pegs are at you can check it out and see if you like it. I posted a vid.

  • do you have a video of you at the track? be sweet to see!

  • Hoping to go in 2009. My boys went in October I didn't have the extra cash. They were hype when they came back. They had pics & videos of their track day. I was happy for them & it made me want to go even more.

  • repsol oil it's not good oil if you step up gas hard in every gear, and engine and exhaust is very hot, cause oil will be change to black like 500 miles:(, castrol oil rules:)

  • I'll look into that for sure. I use Lucas Oil Stabilizer so the oil is going to hold for sure. I use it in my cars too. I know the stuff works. I picked Repsol b/c I see it on Motogp & Superbike races. I may just take the drive to the Honda dealer & get the factory stuff. I'm not riding until April so I have time. Thanks

  • I would have lost it if they came back orange.

  • Why are your rearsets orange?

  • Nah they're red for sure. Maybe the camera or light outside.

  • okay. On camera it doesn't look even close to your fairing color.

  • are you going to "winterise" your bike? I live in my garage in the winter so I'm going to run it once a week like I do everything else. Plus I love to hear the engine run every so often. The season just ended and I'm already dieing to get back out there! I have the feeling this is going to be a long winter

  • A rear wheel stand might help with the oil change. Maybe you have one and just didn't use it, but I think it helps anyway. I like the pin stripes on the wheels. I modified my frame before I knew about the no cut frame sliders.....live and learn I suppose:) Keep the vids coming!

  • You know I got one never thought of using it. I guess because the local shops they have it on a level motorcycle jack. Hey maybe the rear stand could get a little more oil out. I'll try it next year b/c I'm done for the season. Thanks

  • I feel that for sure. I will never buy a used bike unless its a collector. I'd rather not trust my life with someone else's mistakes. I looked at that hks bike, that paint is pretty wild, I like the repsol replica as well. the only thing I really dont like about the new cbr1000rr is the exhaust.

  • That exhaust is made for that bike design. I prefer undertail exhaust though. Hey anything can be fabricated these days.

  • rev limiter is 15,000. I run mine out till it hits the limiter all the time, its there to make sure you CANT over rev, you would have to hold it on the limiter without any resistance(aka neutral) and let it blow out the oil rings to kill it. 600's are high end hp motors. made to perform at 10-15,000 rpms reliably. cruising above 10k isnt super smart, but running out the gears will not hurt the engine. thats the purpose of the rev limiter. I'm posting a vid on this topic tonight

  • I guess that's why I'll probably never buy a use bike. I don't even think of touching 15 more less twelve when I'm riding. I don't really go fast unless my boys set it off. No need to beat on it. I don't plan on selling my bike so I wanna take care of it. I want the new HRC 2009 1000rr. If I pay all my debt & have extra money. I'm buying that baby.

  • CBR600RR 2009 Out About Pick That Shit Up. if any one find good deal with 2009 one Let me Know.

  • No doubt.

  • Worm you are in NYC right? What track are you guys running on "track day". Have you heard the Akrapovic full race exhaust on a 600rr? If so what did you think of it compared to your Stilletto slip on?

  • Haven't seen it or heard about it. I'm going to see if I can find info.

  • Ok. I never say anybody with sliders on. So I thought that was either not permitted of the thing to do. My friends went to the track Saturday and they didn't have sliders. It was there 1st time too.

  • Worm- Hey man you don't rev it over 9K? That's what its made for racing revs man you still have 6K. Do you know if it has a rev limiter? Never bounced off mine. Nice vid of the oil change, you should take your fairing off that gets messy when you take that shortcut. Peas

  • I don't really speed to often. Once in a while I get into the mood when the traffic is right. I'll get up to 140 150 real quick just for the rush and I'll chill out. You sure it won't do damage. I have gone over 9,000 before but the sound makes me think about the motor getting whoop on. Don't wanna blow it. I would say on average I definitely shift before 11,000.

  • 9000RPM??? These 600s were designed to be ridden at or above that level. They don't even make good power until they hit the high RPMs.

  • That's casual riding which I do most of the time. The speed limit is 55 on most parkways. No need to be overreving on extending the shift. Unless we are doing otherwise on the parkway which I do honestly from time to time. The streets are dangerous. We lost quite a few riders this summer. I don't gamble to often out there. When I do boogie I don't even look at the dash. Its a sound and feel I go by so I couldn't say where the rpm's are at.

  • Love your bike.

The Reds and Blacks are working for me.

Gonna hold out for the R6 though - loyalties.

    You know what I mean;)

  • Man I respect you. I'm loyal to Honda so I kinda understand. Remember second best won't do. You guys have a great rider in AMA but we have the better bike. Be safe.

  • wikked bike man, jsut wondern if u can give me some advice i wanna get a bike, and i dont know what to start with, i have drive dirtbikes for a few years a 125, and i drove a 250 a few times, can you give me an idea on what i shud buy, please id really appreaciate it, thanks.

  • I put some watter wetter in my coolant and it dropped my temps a good 5 degrees... Did you do that track day yet, I'm trying to get mine on the track atleast once this season. what track?

  • Yeah the water wetter works too. Track day tomorrow gotta work though. Next date the 11th of October. Hopefully I can make it. Tomorrow Jersey and Poconos the 11th.

  • take those passenger pegs off

  • Ride my girl sometimes. Don't want the aggravation.

  • I like your vids!! Good narration and info. Nice pinstripe on the wheels. Hopefully I can pick one of these up in the near future...

  • yo bro, this is for you and everyone who watches your vids. You talked about lucas oil stabilizer....Lucas makes some injector cleaner/ fuel system lubricant....get that shit. one small($3) bottle will last 25 gallons and it makes a good difference if you listen closely enough. makes the fuel pump sound smoother as well. also lubes the top end of the cyclender and valves and all that. with a fresh filter and oil I go 2k on the oil, change it, then run another 1k then oil and filter again.

  • Yeah I got the injector cleaner too. I used it in my cars. I'm gonna add some to tank in bike today. Thanks.

  • I thought you were a hardcore rider! You said take off your frame sliders for the track?? That seems odd.

  • When I say that? Must be another guy's video. I do recall saying I like taking easy but the guys I ride with always like climbing to the 3 digits all the time. Yeah take them off because nobody rides with them on the track. I wanna see how it feel down low. I had a bad accident in a turn so my nerves be messing with me.

  • Been waiting for a new vid man! KEEP EM COMIN! I have decided I will go for the Honda instead of the R6. Even tho in my opinion the R6 look wise might have the edge.. but I want the best of the best performance wise and I got spare cash to spend on parts. Was thinking two bros exhaust? power commander? fender eliminator, tail tidy! A simple yet affective setup. Make more vids! subscribed. 5/5

  • Very nice bike!

  • i know tell me about it....lol i am also getting the same bike just letting the winter pass.....but ur dam rite man...i think he takes care of his bike...he respects the machine...rather then some...o well what ever it is that makes me want to check his account, its good...

  • I dont know what it is but there is something about this guys videos that keeps me waiting for the next to come out.

  • me 2..

  • It's because it's a regular guy like you and me talking about a subject we all love. Keep it coming.

  • Agreed

  • yo fams dnt be scared to wheelie its nothin, do you, i dnt even mess with honda, i gotta gsxr 1000 but still u gotta ill bike so have fun

  • waiting for some wheelies!

  • I did by accident once. Not sure if I wanna try that yet. I can burn outs, small endos and that's about it. I would like to wheelie though.

  • I´ve been wheeling, BTW wich oil u told me you are using now? Honda oil? I heard about Castrol

Power RS R4 4T Engine Oil its a good one, even with Repsol fully sintetic I´ve used lucas oil stabilizer but still don´t know how much to use, do u use 3.5Q. and half Q. of lucas.?

    ps great videos Honda Buddy!

  • I'm using Spectrum Gold. A good brand I've read on. Honda oil is pretty gold but I need someone else to get it b/c the smart mouth guy at Honda I don't like him. I go about 3.0 to 3.2 quarts. They rest I go with the Lucas. 3.5 with the Lucas will have you with to much in the oil pan. Remember run the bike a bit then check the level with bike up & level. Lucas starts out thick need to mix to get true oil measure. Thanks alot! My pleasure to help.

  • Yo! bike look good Fam..I remember watching you first couple of vids when you first got the bike..i looking between the gxsr 600 or honda 600 but keep the vids coming...from your brother state windcity chicago,HA HA HA

  • Been looking forward to a new vid! Seems you also got your powdercoat job done. Really great looking bike...congrats! You're vids are really steering me away from getting an R6. Thanks for your posts!

  • FINALLY!!!!
