You mean Livia? One Of the Main Heroes of EotN? and 'the staff' is the scepter of orr, used by the vizier (lich lord) to take control of the titans in prophecies

Aside from carrying over our titles and names through HoM, why can't we just have our whole characters transferred over?

Yeah, as fun as playing as an asura, sylvari or norn sounds, I'd like to see some story/time loophole that will let me keep my character into GW2. Still, looking at GW2's features and what's to come, looks pretty immence.

the only charicers from GWs in GW2 are Jalis Ironhammer and a few dwarves, and most of the population of Ascalon that didnt move along with King Adlebern will be enemies that man-handle anyone that enters Rin and Ascalon City

Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be Tyria but 250 years later. The thing that annoys me is you can play as A new race not in Guild Wars 1 called the "Sylvari" which are stupid little fairy plant things that i think nobody will choose to be, and you cant be Tengu! OMFG I WANNA BE BIRD PEOPLE!

it's not for actual storyline purposes I don't think...the titan quests are purely optional so i doubt they have much of a storyline value...and the point of those quests are to kill armageddon lords who still made it into tyria :P
