  • @BecktonGasWorks white watch dot com

  • Congo is super-rich in natural resources. The Congo River could generate enough electricity to light up half the continent. Unfortunately, western meddling and tribalism have kept them back. Love the people and the vast unspoiled forest - i hope to go back one day.

  • @bgibb101 What do you mean "Western meddling" no sensible corporation, government, or business would ever invest in a country with the level of social upheaval and tense volatility as in the Congo. They could pay the natives a living wage, only to see their investment burned down by regional or tribal warlords.Africa has and always will be backward because the people have yet to adopt our technologies.

  • @viletree tell that to libya..

  • rich country poor people.

  • Heart of Darkness

  • i wouldve said fuck it, and lived off nature

  • @10000rajaram LMfao, for real. Me too.

  • congo is a 96% christian country, i was thinking christians arent violent

  • @Martinez1887

It's not about religion.. It's about western powers that sponsor terror proxiers and mercenaraies that provokose civil wars to make sure there is no development..

  • @Martinez1887 have you heard of the crusades before?

  • This is called EXPLOITATION!!!

  • @BUKOPIE78 there own country , there own problem .

  • yeah niggers enslaving other niggers awsome

  • @SupraKillas It would be better if we enslave you instead and while were are at it rape a few white women to boot

  • @damfst23 Ok my nigger go do that. I'm not white so idc rape all the white women u want my nigger buddy.

  • Nnfefe, so, what are you doing to negate the sufferings of your people in the congo ? sitting in america , eating fried chicken and scuking up to akata isnt going to help in your country is it?

  • on a very serious note...the guys dont have to mine...they can just dissapear off back home....but they want to keep mining...no doubt they stash a lot of rocks so the army doesnt get it...otherwise they would walk....i dont like the killing but the congo is entitled to run however it wants to run...and at this moment the army rules and some rebel groups...the people have to organize themselves to sort this out....if they dont then let the army and rebel groups keep on running the show...

  • @eblip What is back home for them? That's totally warped. They can choose to go somewhere there is no employment? Some of them say their possessions were taken. What home do they have?

I guess that when you have a home and you can go back there, you presume the porters can do the same if they choose. You presume they have a similar home, with running water and sanitation, food in the fridge and the cupboards, they must also have a bank account and savings. They stash alot of rocks? Where?

  • @rzorNvme If you actually understood the history behind what has happened here I highly doubt you would be so ignorant to say something like that lol

  • there are few place in the world that you should never go to on vactaion, the congo is one of them.

  • @DirtyIGBO ITS A FUCKIN MADHOUSE. BLOODY APES.

  • This country could be so rich, with a proper system

  • @POLAK1Nysa Yeah, 36 trillion dollars worth of mineral reasource. Sadly it's in the most undeveloped and dangerous place in the world. Rwanda and Uganda both made a grab for it and now it's infested with Mai-Mai militia and other rouge military groups. No one who would benefit from the reasource is able to reach it. A European or American company could extract the resource but that would take all the money out of the Congo and the people who need it.

  • @POLAK1Nysa correct

  • epublic of the Congo in Central Africa is the last at the bottom of the economic heaps. Depreciation of Franc Zone currencies, incredibly high levels of inflation in 1994, eruption of the civil war, and continuation of armed conflict and slumping oil price in 1998 broke down the economy of the country.

  • Share the world's resources or become an extinct planet.

  • no blood .in coltan.yes

  • i hate adevetisments

  • What do u think happens after we die?

  • Somethings been bugging me. What's happens if I sin but I don't know that it's wrong at the moment but later find out it's wrong? Meaning I sin but I had no idea?

  • I hate ads in front of the video!

  • THE US SHOULD BE THERE!

  • @jrjrloreto "the us should be there" no, no , not really..... the us should just stay home.

  • @dirty1smelly1turban I dont agree

  • See how these people treat each other. Blacks are the most selfish, brutal and incomeptent people on earth. Can't seem to think ahead and build anything without outside help. The only countries in Africa that are doing okay have small populations. Does anyone have any theories why things are this way ?

  • @flyguyinmotion Congo was a peaceful state before invasion. The UK invaded congo and took slaves, if the slaves didn't work hard enough the hand of their children were hacked off, there is lots of photo evidence, congo has been raped of it's minerals for many years from the west, these people don't know anything but conflict because of the UK and US. Remember it was a peaceful state b4 invasion, the monetary system has been imposed on them. If u update your mobile regular u are the cause.

  • @Elibobbob Yes, I know about the horrors that happened there. The chopping off of hands for not working hard enouph. It is said that King Leopold caused the deaths of some 10 million Congalese people. Now we have the Chinese trying to get their share of the Africa spoils.

  • @Elibobbob Thanks for your input. You seem rather well informed.

  • @flyguyinmotion, The way I see it small countries have less people and therefore less media attention. And by the way, maybe some people are "selfish" and "brutal" because they don't know any better. I don't know what life is like in the Congo, I've never been there, but the violence, the living condition, the lack of basic education and necessities is enough to drive me mad as well. Think of a rescued dog, it may be a nice dog but put your hand at his feeding bowl and he bites you. Instinct.

  • @flyguyinmotion

now given that globalisation has advanced so far by this point in time, if the people of DRC were to organise a legitimate government or something along those lines, there may be (although its doubtful) a personal benefit for nearly every individual. However on the other hand they could just continue to act as they are acting now, which ensures that all profits from the rich natural resources of their country go to the ones with the power (the ones with guns)...

  • @flyguyinmotion

..this is individually rational, as the ones with the guns stand only to gain from the status quo (because if they were to organise a legitimate government they would lose money)...in this way the country unfortunately seems doomed to eternal revolutions as different groups try to get the guns, and therefore the vast amount of the profit.

1 important point remains to be made... why was it collectively beneficial to organise legitimate governments in the western world....

  • @flyguyinmotion

..centuries ago... simply before globalisation, all countries started on more or less a level playing field, this would not be true of congo if it became a legitimate republic.

Also part of the reason citizens it was collectively benefical to form governments for western countries were the benfits that could be had by plundering other, then unkown parts of the world.

  • @flyguyinmotion

My point and my opinion is that if you treat a man like a dog all his life, then he will act like a dog. It has fuck-all to do with colour

  • @flyguyinmotion

hmmmm..it seeems that the first of my comments didnt publish...what a pity, all that time it took :)

anyway it was something like there is a big difference between collective benefit and indiviual 'rationality', as economist call it, and people only make decisions that are in their own persoanl favour... if you organise a legitimate government/union/contract, you do so for the benefit of all those involved...but if everybody involved..in this case it would not be for the...

  • @flyguyinmotion

...for the benfit of those who have the guns. Acting "rationally" the ones with the guns use their power to block any type of social reform

  • Boring

  • @LegendCorridor didn't say "god" is imperfect, i'm saying that religion is what always starts wars, and most religions can't fuckin keep to themself.

and because i have different views than you, does that make me sub-human?

  • @7:54 that's a nice watch he's got there.

  • @LegendCorridor fucking jesus-loving troll, religion only causes problems, it never solves any.

  • all they do is rape girls and kill. twisted fucking animals!!

  • @thugproofclips And You Point Out The Obvious Why?No One Does Anything About It....

  • Please check this out. Pretty disturbing truth to the top people in Congress. youtube.com/watch?v=KgxSpAJgkeU We need more voice to push Obama. Obama knows everything about congo

  • @inherittrueloveofgod Obama does know, and Congress is working on this issue. See section 1502 of the financial reform bill passed this summer. The question is, how can we help them accomplish their goals, and hold them accountable to what they promise to do in the bill

  • Check: Toni Yo - The Plight of the Congo (youtube video)

  • four million people dead. I cannot even comprehend that number.

  • The sad thing is that this is what the country looks like with all of its valuable minerals. What will it look like when there is no more ore?

  • @dragonsder hey bastard! on here as well?

Shit, you have ZERO life off youtube.

Odd that you should think you can stalk

others, when you yourself are so easy

to track. Kind of ironic really.

I simply follow the smell, and look

for the brown stain on the page, and BINGO,

There YOU are in all your glory!

  • @veotumuerte

Do you have any friends vuetomuerte? Do you have a future? Do you have a world outside your mothers basement where you follow people around on you tube and post garbage? Are you just a pathetic high school dropout living on your mother's stolen welfare checks? And why do you keep accusing me of stalking you when you continually prowl my comment history box on my channel so you can post as much of your garbage as you like? Huh? Do you even know what ironic means?

  • @dragonsder I rather like this game, I don't read

a jot of your moranic ramblings, while you hang on

every word I say, like a forlorn puppy, in your case,

most certainly of the mongrel variety!

Here boy, I wonder what video I will command

your presence on next? as it always seems to be

me throwing the ball, and you fetching and bringing back

to your master!! Now there's a good mutt!!

If only everyone was as attentive, simple and obedient!!.

  • Great point! Since the average Congolese in the DRC makes less than 30 cents a day and has a life expectancy of of 42 yrs. it would be awful if we had sanctions against war lords who used slavery to extract minerals and raped women by the MILLIONS! The average citezen is sooo well off since we "Buy their shit". These people should be thanking us. Without the west exploiting them who knows how bad it could get. DUUUUUUUUUH. Moron!

  • @MPArmstrong84

The problem with sanctions is that they tend to hurt the common people who we are trying to help because the leaders will get their fill no matter what.

  • First it was diamonds now its tin :\, fucked up!

  • This is a lack of respect concerning human life, it is like a stone with will and reason without remorse, without passion, wthout dreams, without histories who are forced human beings in kind of hard labor.

  • you now..usa..teroritse.poploes

  • @PATRICELUMUMBAS This is very true.

  • @PATRICELUMUMBAS

You sound like a disturbed person

The USA is not an Empire

To say that your worried about the USA killing people while ignoring the genocide being committed by Americans enemies makes you at best a useful idiot

  • @CSATexan America has 785 military bases in over 100 countries around the world. You're right -- Deffinately not an empire. Glenn Beck said so!!

  • @MPArmstrong84

Which one of those bases collect taxes?

  • @CSATexan America collects taxes in the form of exploiting the hell outta native peoples.

  • @MPArmstrong84

They should all be fired immediately. That would really help them.

What do you think they will do to you if that happened???

  • Comment removed

  • @MPArmstrong84

Ya those jobs suck so much that the go to work every day hello!!!!! If they didn't need the work they would quit

  • @MPArmstrong84

Unlike a controlled economy, the workers are free to come and go.

$10 to cut my yard take it or leave Capitalism

Cut this yard and shut your fucking mouth (a controlled economy)

  • @CSATexan you are an idiot as most texans are...lol...probably trailer trash..

  • Looks a lot like Detroit!

  • conciousbeingalliance is a website of a journalist and friend of mine Keith Harmon Snow. youtube his name, Keith covers Congo and Great Lakes region extensively having traveled to over 20 African countries.

    Free Congo!

  • 1 thing what could help the 70 million population of congo= STOP MAKING THOSE FUCKING BABIES

  • how many congo militia could a squad of 4 heavily armed u.s marines take down

  • All hail capitalism...

  • u.s.a. Europe and Russia feed the Africans with war to buy cheap diamonds, gold and oil and after buying, they sell all kind of weapons to make sure the war continuous...

  • Because some of them are being paid more than $2.00 a day, they are not being exploited? Have you watched this video? Or are you just making random statements? There are many who are not paid at all.

  • the mining tactics are not that cost affective, to much arguing, to primitive (needs to be modernized.

  • son todos unos asesinos eeuu belgica israel francia inglaterra y sus multinacionales

  • In 1947 While India and Pakistan devide atlist 40,00,000 Hindu People were Killed by Pakistani Muslim and Millions of Hindu women were Kidnapped and raped and sold in Pakistan for Prostitution .That time Bloody USA & Uk was with Pakistan till he with them ..

All the Problem in the world is borned by USA & Uk only

  • something just doesn't ring right with this story. 20-30 military guards who "steal" the ore when the miner brings it to the surface?

vs. 300-400 miners? porters who travel unguarded for no pay?

Sounds more like an African tale.

  • man this is phucked up....most african americans don't give a shyt about what's going on in africa...it's only a few of us over here that give a crap what greed and evil is doing to Africa...justice will prevail one day......

  • @Machelle3200 african americans are mostly stupid so they just don't know and if they did know then they still wouldn't care. Maybe they would go to their baptist churches and sing for the africans and then go into more debt to buy bling so they can feel rich. Nothing would change.

  • @TickleMehNancy

That is racist but you are right, America is totally apathetic to this.

  • I wish I could go back to my country and kik all these fucking chinese shits out, man all we need is peace and a proper ruler like Patrice Lumumba, and we could prosper. Our land is so rich but out fucking people excluding governments are so POOR FUCK.

  • Keith Harmon Snow knows Congo. Check him out. "conciousbeingalliancedotcom" and "keithharmonsnow dotcom"

the congo genocide is the worse tragedy in human history, yet the media is silent

  • RISE UP!..this is fucking insane that we let this happen....

    p.s. fuck Bush.

  • no blood

  • My suggestion: Demand western companies to introduce "fair trade" marked products in the electronics business, just as there are fair trade products in foods. I'm willing to pay a little extra to know that my cellphone is not made from "conflict minerals". Don't underestimate the power of consumer choice, the reason they fight over minerals....is because we BUY the products made from them. Money is key - so let's use it to do good instead. It CAN be done.

  • THE IRONY. Thank the Europeans for banning LEAD SOLDER, if we could use lead solder, we wouldn't be using Coltan so much. Screw the green party!

  • All they would have to do is organize themselves to sell their resources at higher prices. It isn't exploitative when you are buying a product; it is the militia and native individuals who are responsible for the gross disparity in income distribution. They have the resources to become a well-off country, but their own greed is the biggest hurdle.

  • @Spargelgesicht Sind sie Deutsch? But yeah, you are totally right. Also interesting how the US always gets blamed, what about the Chinese, who are the primary consumers of coltan/cassiterite? Also funny, when western countries DO go to these countries and build schools and have a more equitable distribution, people complain they aren't doing enough. Africa can do well, look at Botswana, but they need their own good governance. You cant enforce good governance (like Bush tried to in Iraq)...

  • @ObamaBiden20082012 No, but I have friends there. I agree that it is up to them to enforce their own laws and control their own governments. I can't blame China, or other countries that are merely acting economically; they are not responsible for how countries treat their own people.

  • @ObamaBiden20082012 Are you kidding? China is only half the reason why Africa is the way it is today you have to keep in mind that the West got to Africa hundreds of years before China did and has been exploiting it for centuries. All the governments in Africa are puppets of China or the US and both countries contribute about equally to the horrors that take place in the continent. Don't give me this "America does so much for the world!" bullshit because it's not true.

  • @xPythox @xPythox This video is about Coltan and Casseterite. If we're talking about the Congo, then yeah, I'd say Belgium bears most of the blame for screwing up the country back when it was the Belgium Congo. But you don't go after them do you, because Belgium doesn't have that much cash. Instead you go after the US, because you see money there. How about BOTSWANA, a country that trades resources with the west and benefits its people.

  • @xPythox Botswana clearly demonstrates Africa well from trade with the west, and instead of blaming everything on the west like you, they've actually taken it into their hands to develop a mutually beneficial partnership. Unfortunately, not much focus is put on that brand of development, because people like you want Africa to be self sufficient or some BS, like a big version of North Korea. Not going to happen. So, for the most part, trade enriches a few corrupt rulers, and you blame the west.

  • Yesterday knight on BBC3 i saw a documentary of where a Women was born in congo but moved to england during the war. The documentary was quite sad cause it showed what women was treated in congo, most of them were raped and even a 6 year old girl was as well, so sad :(

  • UK/US foreign policy since year dot - hit people and take their stuff. Later, more sophisticated methods include paying someone else to hit people and take their stuff for UK/US. This became the standard model for all 'civilised' countries to follow. The weakest and the poorest always suffer the most in this process. Hence the old adage - when shit turns to gold, the poor will be born without arseholes.

  • British businessman Ketankumar Kotecha says "If I didn't do it, someone else would. I am not here as some kind of moral saviour."

The irony is that if he tried to be a moral saviour, he'd be killed, probably by those he would be trying to save.

  • Aah, my country made a nice little mess in Congo.

  • just because you are doing it Legally, doesn't mean you aren't Stealing it!

and I imagine the U.N. will secure the area, just after the mines run out.

Corporations that use this material will have to be sure where they are getting it from. Stay on top of who is using what materials in their products, and spread boycott awareness to the less ethical companys

  • We don't even treat our animals like that.

  • we live in a fucked up world

  • Next time you turn on your Ipod, think about the people who had to be killed to make it.....

  • What?

  • Next time you buy a Nike shoe, clothes or buy products from stores such Wal Mart, think about kids in Asia who have been exploited to make them!

  • @BobbyDonnel

Dude, you can't even buy food in the West without screwing someone over. It's not just consumer goods, it's everything.

  • Id buy more Ipods if I could trade them straight across for ak-47's and machetes. Think you could broker the deal?

  • lets give a voice congolese victims , google greencoltan

  • I am a Hungarian girl.

Ugyhogy excuse me if a little bit helter-skelter irok.

    Really very sad.

I do not like looking at the videos like this.

    I can't ehez what irni.deugyéreztem that muszály.

    Kiss for everybody.

  • Capatalism at its best. American slavery has not been abolished, its just changed continents. As long as we get the latest ipod no one seems to care. Fucked up!!

  • ... not just America

  • @MPArmstrong84 Indeed. This is all just a conflict between the US and China over minerals in the Congo. China backs the current government who gives them minerals and the US backs the rebels led by US puppet Laurent Nkunda who gives the US minerals. It's all fucked up, Africa is just a battleground of undeclared wars.

  • I just read about a mother who was forced to watch as her two 9 year old children were raped, killed and cooked on a grill. The militia men ate her daughters in front of her.

Now that kind of thing angers me more than it does depress me. Because it is pretty evident that all man-kind is is a savage, hungry, animal, capable of breaking any moral law. Some of us just control ourselves or live in our cosy little middle-class houses in the UK or the USA. Forgetting. Not caring.

    That is the horror.

  • @AragornTheSecond But maybe it shows that morale is artificial? And people, as you said are savage, hungry and animal in nature?

  • plaes..live congo.end paec

  • @AragornTheSecond We must remember why people in DRC behave this way. It has been a country of terror for well over a century. I don't defend men that do things like this-- They are monsters. But at one time those soldiers were boys who were exposed to extreme savagery. It is the only life they know. This is why the exploitation and war peddeling must be stopped. And it starts with the west!!!

  • @AragornTheSecond That's disgusting. Not caring? I know a lot of people who send money to support children all over the world even in terrible financial times. The militia men are the ones killing and eating their people. Don't you think they're the ones who need to start caring?

  • @WilliamEGD the problem with the support is that it not always gets to the victims and is sometimes "intercepted" doing more harm than good.

  • @AragornTheSecond savagery exists everywhere. The problem here is... What are we gonna do about it? Shall we get our signs and march in front of a government that is to busy squabbling about pointless spending? Shall, we gather a private militia and fight the savagery ourselves?Shall we write essays, publish books, educating our citizens on this brutal conflict? These questions are what keep me up at night, and the feeling of powerlessness to stop this gives me chills everyday...

  • @MPArmstrong84 It's the fault of Western consumerism. Americans are a facet of that to be sure but they're are plenty of other countries that buy electronics, batteries etc. that are to blame. If we all started recycling our electronics instead of throwing them away it would go a long way to diminishing demand for these raw minerals.

  • @MPArmstrong84 iPod is spelled with a capital P not lower cased

  • How is Capitalism to blame?

This is a situation caused by supply and demand.

Capitalism is known as the act of investing

Yah and Capatalism is spelled Capitalism, you just an other stupid Commie.

  • @simontimon2

congo government slaved the population long time ago with the help of UN which happens to be useless party like WFP and WHO.

  • And let's not forget this atrocities were committed by the Congo government inslaving it's own population.

Government is a non capitalist entity.

Your just another typical stupid democrats who preached that capitalism is evil on a capitalist made computer.

  • @simontimon2 You could use a little spell check yourself. So I guess you're OK with exploiting people for profit? Maybe if you educated yourself on the involvement of capitalist countries in the DRC and other parts of Africa, you may have an argument. Just calling me a stupid commie democrat doesn't make you look intelligent. And yes the Congo government is also to blame. I'm not a democrat or commie btw.

  • How are they being exploited when they are paid far more then the average wage in that country.

  • Comment removed

  • @RIPP1N It's not JUST America's fault but we are the number one consumer of elctronics in the world. These electronics contain minereals illegally mined in the DRC. I live in America so I want MY country to take responsibility -- I have no say on what happens in China, France or anywhere else. BTW, America has been involved in DRC since the Kennedy admin. Spend 3 minute of you usefull life and read about it!

  • @MPArmstrong84 All true I really cant argue with you I just thought you were just saying America did this but since you are not I agree with you.

  • usa..killing..poploes..end wld the.god.ways for mone

  • @MPArmstrong84

Ya the US should just stop buying all their shit and let them go broke.

That would really help them. DUH

  • remembe..empire romano..to day..nothing

  • @MPArmstrong84 Communist countries (whichever are left) have huge demand for such resources as well.

  • @MPArmstrong84 What do you mean the Congo people are doing it to themselves because they want to sell cassiterite to Europeans for a large profit. If the Europeans discontinued to buy it from them because of moral issues then another continental group would probably start. They're an extremely poor country and, the way I see it, they're exploiting their own people for profit... How is that American slavery? Maybe I'm ignorant to some facts, please enlighten me.

  • The real shame is the DRC has the "potential" to be 1 of the greatest & most powerful nations on earth. It has 60+ million people = ample work force. It has huge mineral resources, petrolatum & natural gas, vast land area, abundant water resources + rich arable soil for growing crops. All basically untapped & unexploited. If they had a working government & around $250 billion to build infrastructure, education, health services & a light manufacturing base, the country could really take off.

  • Just blame the USA for everything. This way, any & everybody can do what they want, and nobody has to take responsibility for their actions. Everything wrong on the earth is USA fault.

  • GOD, i pray that you will forgive all of us for our sins. We pray that congo will rise from strength to strength. the fighting will stop, rape, corruption, hatred and poverty and you will replace it with love. Lord i thank you for the people who are trying to help the Congo become stable i thank you for the charities that deal with the starvation and poverty and miss placement. Lord i know you are capable of anything you are king of kings Lord of Lords.i pray for change in jesus name i pray amen

  • THANX TO FRANCE

  • Sin,and satan is the cause of their troubles, just like it's the cause of ours(America's).We're no different than they.GOD,is punishing the congo because of their sins;HE's punishing us for ours as well.Crime in the U.S. is at a all time high among all races here .The murder of babies, even by rape and murder;the dreadful diseases that plague all races, that the whites try so hard to hide. The increase in all violence and unholiness. The LORD JESUS has taken HIS FATHER'S NAME away from this country.

  • How can you believe such shit about jesus and his father.
