Gamble should continue. How could US give up after it invested so much in Iraq! -- Iraq oil is already under US control. Iraq's oil could mean profit of 1 to 2 trillion for US. Keep on. Don't give up. The profit is coming. Give up, all the investment will be gone.

Stupid where casualties are concerned, yes. Stupid from an imperialistic or economic view, no. Karzai and the new Iraqi government are just puppets that bend over and kneel at the US government's whim. The weapon- and securityindustries made millions of dollars on the war too. Simply put: War = money, Puppet goverments = power. I really doubt that the new leaders in Iraq and Afghanistan were democraticly chosen, they probably presented them with a choice between two US-allied candidates. Death!!
